What if instead of building in PS1, 2 & 3 backwards compatability they use thier acquisition of that game streaming company to offer these games streamed and PS4 abd Vita has access, so playstation plus subscribers have access to these and if you own the title you can pay a small fee to stream them to the PS4 if your not a plus subscriber.

It's entirely possible, yes.

If it will not work with used games I'm 1000% sure I will not buy it no matter how good it is.

Sony and Microsoft need to realize Steam store offer the users too convenient special offers and it's gaining market segments everyday. PC also take advantage of some serious killer applications like Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2. Not too mention pCars will looks considerably better on a proper PC.

You say that like games of that type make of break consoles. We all know they don't, FPS do.

I can definitely see Sony using the cloud to stream PS3 games instead of paying to implement BC. I don't see them doing that instead of continuing to offer games on sale on the PS Store, though. Both things, though, sure.

I higly doubt we'll ever see a console with proper backwards compatiblity ever again. By any console manufacturer. It's just that much more profitable to rake in cash from re-releasing games from previous system - maybe with some visual touches here and there. I doubt Sony, MS or even Nintendo would be willing to forgoe that.

I agree. I wonder, though, whether that trend will ever change or not. FPS games have been the big thing for a while now. Is that going to go on forever?

Well I speak for myself. They are free to charge 70 bucks for every crap they release if they'll find some fools agreeing with that scheme. I for one will not.

I'm getting pretty bored with FPS now, I have even taken to buying all the PSONE final fantasy's from PS Store. I have just finished 7 for like the 9th time, just trunching through 8.

I have found myself playin a lot of single player lately aswell. Mainly because I'm sick to death of idiots in CoD, and getting D/C'd in GT.

Well that's another good point. Honestly multiplayer disappointed me a lot. A part from the technical issues (lag, disconnections, bugs etc.) there are some things that went wrong, for instance the voice chat, seriously, I pretend a function to completely mute someone if I want to. Most of times muting a chat doesn't work and it can ruin experience. Multiplayer was the new thing in last gen consoles, I'm not sure it will have the same hype train in the next They have to improve quite a lot of things.

It's difficult. We don't know if GT6'll release on PS3 or PS4....

So, I suppose that Seattle and Aprico Hill seem realized with render of GT5. But. Ginza (Tokyo) and Spain (mountain) seem with other graphics engine :

I think Amar' talking this scene ?

PD has said the Gran Turismo 4 intro movie was possible in real time on PS3 hardware. I have little doubt anything we've seen GT5 related is not possible in real time on the PS4. Theres plenty of GT5 trailers that look way too clean/good to be real time GT5. Even the Ferrari 458 trailer looks next-gen-ish

Ginza (Tokyo)

Afaik, the R246 circuit doesn't go through ginza. Most of the circuit is located near akasaka, which for the trivia buffs out there is where the car chase from "you only live twice" was filmed. It looks a lot different nowadays. I actually work fairly close to the circuit and can see parts of it from my office, yet I haven't actually walked the whole track yet. I've walked on part of it near the Meiji Jingu shrine. I think it's about time I did a lap.

I think Sony will work to get PSN PS3 games BC compatible through emulation or whatever so people can transfer their purchases over and thats it.

Alot of PSN PS3 games were multiplatform, so they can be made to play on other consolse. They probably just have to alter the code to make it work on PS4 hardware. Im not sure how expensive that would be, though. The cost woudl be the determining factor in whether or not they would do it

I dont think they would go to the effort of either paying the Dev to alter code just so its backwards compatible. The cost would outweigh the benefits, especially if they drop the price of the PS3 at launch of PS4.

I Really do think they will Stream PS1 and PS2 games PS3 games to Vita and PS4, also they may do this to any Paystation certified smartphone too. the only other reasong for buying that company was for patents on streaming contact and they will merge them into thier music or movie services.

You make it sound a lot easier than it is. Emulation is far more than simply 'altering the code' to make it work on different hardware. They also can't just borrow the Xbox 360 version, make a couple of tweaks and turn it into a PS4 compatible version. It's really not that simple.

Nah man; it takes 5 seconds to "alter code."

xbox == ps3;

xbox == ps3 + 1;

if (ps3 != xbox)

cout << "We altered code!" << endl;

else

cout << "Your mother smells of hamster and you don't know what 'alter code' means." << endl;

You forgot to bool.

bool ps3code
{
if (ps3 game)
cin >> ps3 game
cout << "ps3 game with upscaled graffix";

}

or something like that. :lol:

Not really, $399/£299 is about what I expected. Certainly much better than $599/£425 PS3 originally retailed for.

?

According to a report published in Japan’s Asahi Shinbun newspaper, Sony’s next video game console – currently known as both “Orbis” and “PlayStation 4″ – will go on sale in Japan before the end of 2013, carrying a price tag of more 40,000 yen (US$428).
As well as echoing earlier rumours that the new console will include a controller similar to previous PlayStation models’ but feature a small touch panel in its centre, the report suggests that Sony’s new machine will “exceed” 40,000 yen.

That's more than you said at the lowest estimate.

I wonder if GTA V is going to be released on both the ps3 and the ps4, it's strange delaying the game later this year, and we all know we will see new consoles

$400 is probable for the American market. Japanese regularly get shafted on things (and Americans usually get the best deal), so...
