OK, that's good.
I can confirm it. I was once in the Bowling Alley and so was a friend of mine. Yet he was not in the same Bowling Alley as I was. Must have been a different server. :) Joining through the menu placed me on his server.

I did read about the servers on the home blog thingy....right these numbers are aproximates and I'll happily stand corrected if you find the thread (it was in red dogs "stupid night" thread) Ok so each area can host 64 people in it, of that theres 8-16 slots for friends to join.....when you go to an area obviously theres lots of servers running you simply enter into the one with slots available. on the bowling alley question, I know it's been awnsered but just to make it a little clearer, if all the alleys are full leave the bowling alley, re enter into it and eventualy you should end up in a server with a free lane. Again these are aproximate figures if I can find the post again I'll post it here.

@ SL : seriously guards n police in home?? quite sad (and narrow minded) opinion imo :/
And I'm the cynic ?? LOL OK

Yeah, let's all allow what's happening to continue unabated. That should take care of the problem. (And I'm the narrow minded one.)

Jesus, some people.

Thanks Jase72.

Also, I can't understand a word Liljak said:lol:

This moderation/guard idea for home sounds good. Sony could have their own people as it and also like you said normal people who get payed with home money. The problem is, if someone gets busted, they could take revenge or not like that person anymore.

I'm sure the home team have "moderators" who can jump onto specific servers to check out the behaviour of people who get alot of complaints made against them. imagine how many people there will be on Home at any given time around the world when it becomes an open beta! devide it by 50 (people in each server) then times it by each area.....thats alot of "police" needed to have 1 guy watching 50 people at one given time! The system they have in place now is more than adiquate! we police ourselves! every member has the ability to make a complaint to the sony home team directly and from within the home experience. as long as sony act on those complaints fairly and very openly then problems should be at a minimum as with every other sony online system. You can also block people as before, if this system is expanded to include blocking that person from being in the same server as you then it gives you a 2 tiered system to deal with troubled souls wandering the world of home LOL

^^ As long they keep their clothes on, what the problem ?
Quite right.

I'm by no means condoning those guys in the video.
But.....Like no one thought this sort of thing would happen.
Along with abuse being hurled by immature people on the looks of your avatar.

Just Ignore them and walk on.

Exactly, this is what we experienced and did in those situations...

That would be the least of my worries. Based on what we have seen, especially when my wife was using her avatar, there are a lot of horny toads online that have already discovered very clever ways of using the various action options to make their avatars behave quite naughty-like, if you know what I mean!

All I'm saying is be prepared to walk away on occasions, and be VERY careful where you decide to sit down.... unless you like that sort of thing. ;)

Speaking of which, we already stumbled across a couple semi-hidden areas in Home only to find we were interrupting a couple avatars having... "fun". ;)

Needless to say, no children should be allowed to roam Home unsupervised, which also helps explain why the character creator won't allow you to make any children avatars... which as a parent I'm grateful for. 👍

There are areas in Home that clearly a kid would have fun in, especially the bowling alley and arcade rooms, but as with most online activity, they absolutely should be supervised.

In fact, I would hope and suspect Sony won't pay much attention to those who report people who are just acting "horny". It's so easy to walk away or even go to another space. My wife spends a lot of time in Home and she now wears less provocative outfit and it isn't nearly as bad as some have claimed it to be. Heck, even that video was clearly heavily edited and sped up.

In fact, if I were Sony I would consider people who report such petty nonsense as abusing the Abuse option... and I especially find it amusing that apaprently some of those who are offended... are men using provocative female avatars.

And if I were a woman who wanted to "have fun" in Home, I'd be pretty pissed off that a bunch of guys pretending to be women just to report "horny" men might scare them all off with foolish entrapment.

I personally would be much more concerned about someone making racial and religious epitaphs, hate speech, and comments about illegal behavior, such as pedophilia and such.. then worry about the fact that some anonymous people are goofing off with their avatars in an attempt to make them appear to be involved in some kind of sexual act.

Case in point, when I was using the Obama look-a-like avatar, there were a couple people in Home that apparently hated Obama and said some pretty ugly things about the President-elect, but everyone just ignored them and they soon walked away themselves. 👍

I think that's about right - they cannot possibly moderate/police Home in the same way that you might an internet forum. I see the issue becoming less of a big deal as and when mini-communities spring up and people spend more time in bespoke company rather than in the common areas... there will always be people who try to spoil it for others, but it is as easy as hitting the block button... I'd like it if when you hit the block option, you produced a Harry Potter-like wand and their avatar disappeared from your view in a cloud of green smoke *poof* :D Perhaps they will have an option to automatically join the same server as folks on your friends list too?

I wasn't in Home yet at the time, I swear.

That and I keep my comments to policy.

Those in the EU should be aware that the servers will be down for a while tomorrow morning from 7am......

Home will be offline from 7am UK tomorrow for a few hours whilst some further changes are made to the server side.

Once it comes back up we will also be putting some items into the Shopping Centre to help test the mechanics there. Again, our long term beta volunteers will be reporting and logging any problems and we will be publishing a list of all known issues shortly.

....given the time I don't think it will be a major issue and after all we will get some stuff in the shops as well.

Good point.

Neither my wife nor I have had the cause to do so, but I'm fairly sure there is a mute as well as a block user option... I'll have to check next time we are on. If so, and someone is truly bothered by some "guy" hitting on them, and they don't want to just walk away, I suppose all they have to do is mute or block them... granted, I like your idea of a humorous visual... especially if the people around you and especially the person you are muting or blocking can see it happen to them... now that would not only be classic, but may help tone down some of the unsolicted behavior, if nothing more than to save virtual face. ;)

This may already be in place, because everytime my wife and I are in Home and our friends are also in Home we can always find them without actually "joining" them anywhere.

Also, Sony has held a few events already in Home, the latest was a Pool/Billiards Tournament, and the two Sony reps were there. Now maybe... they were also "there" on multiple servers, but I doubt it... so I personally have yet to run into a situation that for me suggests there are multiple servers for each regional version of Home... but I can also see why there could be.

Let's see it then! 💡
I'll take a pic of it next time I'm in Home... or I could show you in Home. 👍

I did take some pics of my Frankenstein's Monster avatar though:

I wonder if you'll purchase item's with virtual credit's or real money from your account?

It will also be interesting to see the level of pricing they are thinking of using

I'll be suprised if it doesn't use PSN stores to do all the transactions. In fact, when you download the Clubhouse Creator, it is also treated as a transaction through the PSN store... but it's free.

It does indeed, also if you try and go into a store it tells you it has no stock, but it does open up the PS Store wallet.

Hey guys with new update. I had to RE-DL everything. And when I was making my character... where is the option for AGE?

OK I apply to the GTPlanet club.. as well few TOOL fan clubs :)

The servers are down.. I just experienced this first hand.. and tomorrow we will get new STORE items so we can personalize our apartments and clothes! well I hope!

Scarf mentioned yesterday that the UK servers would be down this morning and store items would be available once theyd finished tinkering. could be the US servers were having the asme work done?

As we inch ever closer to Home's open beta phase, when the PSN's unwashed masses finally gain entrance, it's clear that preparations are being made for the big day (whenever that may be) behind the scenes. Home producers both sides of the pond have revealed that there will be some server downtime tonight, as they do some jiggery-pokery. The downtime will occur between 2am and 9am EST (7am to Midday GMT).

When they come back up the Mall (or Shopping Centre, in Europe) will be full of purchasable items. While they're technically pay-for items, they will be free to grab for everyone in the closed beta for a limited period and will carry over into the open beta. We have no idea when that will be, so make sure you go ahead and grab them ASAP, just in case. We're assured that if you miss out on getting these items for free, their full price will be pretty cheap and they will "continue to have free items in Home on a regular basis."

Free stuff at the Shopping Centre? Nice! Just don't let the wife in on it, or you can forget about getting anything for yourself. :P

It's one way of "load testing" the store systyem! everyman and his dog will be in there LOL
Can one of you lucky barstuards with home post up some details of the shoping system and dare I ask a few pics or descriptions of items of the unusual veriety?

Are there any unlockable items other than the Echochrome suit? I got that last night and my pudgy guy looks like Bibendum.

It may not matter after I go on a shopping spree tonight though.
