Good point. I suspect the younger you are the less patient, and more demanding you might be.

I'm not so convinced :P

I was hoping to do a brief write up on my early impressions of home, I will have to wait for a later date though due to time constraints.

Was chilling with Racer_LP and Sven1972BE
Found an idot who called us gay and it was so stupid.
So many fools out there.

Also seen a guy ask a "girl" to go back to his. Reply was "Im a dude"

Still laughing at the fact that so many users horde around the girls.

Got my namco gear and items, and yes, people are jealous lol

Had a small gathering this morning at D-N's apartment with Sprite and The Grim Reaper. Pretty cool way to chat with other people. I need to get a headset again (my mom took my other one to use with her phone) or at least a keyboard for the controller. Maybe I'll venture out today and pick something up.

I really wish they would release more stuff for your apartment, mine looks a little bleak at the moment but I'm guessing there is a ton of stuff in the works. This whole thing feels like a giant Sims game and actually sort of home I am envisioning the Sims 3 based on what I've read about it.

I run straight out and bought a headset after the meeting at DN's. It was cool to here him speak and it was very clear. Can't wait to get back on later once it is charged up.

I bet the answer is really obvious but.........

Anyone know what the white dots next to your name represent when playing pool?

If you like texting, there are at least a couple keypads for the PS3 that attach to the controller. One is from MadCatz I think, and the other just came out by Sony. The Sony one is pretty pricey IMO, but unlike the MC, it's Bluetooth, so no USB dongle needed, and it'll have better range. It also has backlit keys and some hot keys specifically for use with the XMB as well. That said, I there are some great mini wireless keyboards out there, some even with backlit keys for typing at night. 👍

I find there are both advantages and disadvantages with using a headset in Home. The advantage of course is convenience, and having the chat output fed straight to your ear also makes it very easy to hear everyone... but there lies the disadvantage to... if you are walking around Home you are going to hear any public conversations that are near by.. and sometimes they have their volume on their mic way up and if it's poor quality the crackling sound can be deafening!

I generally only turn on my mic when I'm with friends and in a semi private area.

BTW: Another great quality mic you can use is the PS eye. It really has a remarkably great sounding microphone.... of course it's going to record ALL the sounds in your room... so pay attention to what's being said or the noises being made. ;)

I've never played a sim game... well I did play Sim City like twenty years ago. :)

That said, I also hope we get a lot more stuff. I'm already planning out how I want my game room upstairs.

First I'm going to add the Namco classic arcade games, but I am REALLY hoping I'll be able to add a billiards table and darts (no bowling alley thank you very much, I saw what that did to MC hammer!). I'd also really like to have a chess table in the house, and definitely a big screen TV and whole house audio.... hey, I have standards that must be met. :)

After the gathering at yours I went out and bought a new bluetooth headset. I must say It is good, and would recommend it to anyone for the price. £22.99 or £19.99 if bought with something else from the store. The make is Gioteck & model is EX-01.

Speaking of our little gathering,

Joey, Grim and Sprite, I want to appologize again for having to abandon you all so quickly. I didn't expect to have visitors, as I was just messing around trying to better understand the different setting options, and my wife had already had breakfast ready for everyone.

I'm curious though, what happened when I signed off? Where you all able to stay in the house, or did it take you back to your last location? I didn;t think of that until after I signed off, and then thought, well that was rude of me if they all got kicked out and thus couldn't continue the conversation without me being signed on.

It kicked me back to where I was if I remember rightly. Don't worry about abandoning us so quickly. It was still nice to meet other GTP'ers in Home.

Not sure that's right after all. I'm playing now we both have 2 balls left 3 if you ionclude the black. I have 5 white dots my opponent has 7

I agree Jase, as when I was playing you I had one dot lit throughout the entire time on their. It never changed.

AT JASE: That might be because hardly anyone can afford a ps3 and also, most people arn't up at midnight over here, little thing could sleep, not getting it could make you too sleepy for ps3 next day....hmmmm.

I know I was in someones house when they signed off and was still in it afterwards.

Erm............
What relevance to white dots in pool does that have ?

They've already taken Africa and Russia off Home due to overloading, or thats what the message my Russian frend got said. PSN discrimination to the minorities much?

I have not tried today, but the last two days I have been unable to get into either the HK or JP versions of Home... I was starting to think that maybe Sony had temporarily, or even permanently region locked the different versions of Home, but I was still able to get into the EU Home, so maybe it's just a coincidence.

love the Simpsonizer:tup:

It's fun isn't it. We liked it so much we use them for our User pics on our PS3:

BTW: I'm really not happy with the pics I'm taking of the TV... any photographers in the crowd have any suggestions on improving picture quality.

If it helps, here are the settings I used for these and the previous shots:
  • Color Space = sRGB
  • Shutter Speed = 1/60
  • Lens Focal Length = 11mm
  • F Stop = 4.1
  • ISO = 400 /500
  • Metering Mode = Multi Pattern
  • White Balance = Manual
  • (no flash naturally)

Any tips would be very welcome in deed! 👍

If you take them with a smaller ISO size(64 is the lowest in a good amount of cameras). It will further reduce artifacts in the images and increase file size.

I was reffering to your post up the top of the page about EU servers being empty.

Now here is mine and Dragonistics running man train.
The quality is bad because I wasn't exactly holding steady.

Btw, I'm in the icebreaker shirt. Unlocked this morning, I think the beanie looks incredibly gay though.
