I just had to pay taxes on the value of a totaled car. I lost my car and got taxed for it. BS!!!

You have to pay taxes on a totaled car? Man... that sucks. You paid taxes when you BOUGHT the car, with money you paid tax on. What hell...

It looks just like the notice they send out for annual property tax registration, but since the car had been filed as totaled I called, thinking there was a mistake. Whether it's sold, traded or totaled I would have to pay this fee.

All I can figure is this was implemented to help our budget issues. We have a balanced budget amendment, which is often translated to raising taxes in small amounts across the board and using that money to maintain the minimum to receive federal funds. It's one of my biggest issues working in Public Health. Everything is paid for with federal grants. I have no clue where my taxes go.

It will be interesting to see what effect the NH primaries will have on thinning out the herd.
I wonder how much of the result in New Hampshire is a protest vote. Trump and Sanders are both far from the centre, and their apparent success stems from their radical positions - but is it sustainable? A few years ago, our federal and state governments were almost all from the same party (South Australia being the only dissenting voice). Voter satisfaction with the federal government hit a record low, and there was a change in government in Victoria and Queensland, two of the three biggest states. There could have been a change in New South Wales to complete the trifecta, but despite corruption scandals plaguing the government, the protest vote lost all of its momentum because the federal government responded to the critics.

I wonder if the same process is at work here - are voters flocking to Trump and Sanders because they're genuine believers, or are they just trying to send a message to the establishment?

I just realized something. Sanders' inititials are BS. If Sanders gets elected we get to call all his policies a BS policy. Bring on the BS. BS for president.

Oh, if he gets elected it will be a glorious time for comedy.
And as POTUS, he will also be in charge of the Army too... so Colonel Sanders?

Trump and Sanders have considerable populist overlap. Much of their anti-establishment patois is interchangeable. The typical Bernie supporter is a young female college grad with $80k debt and no job prospect. The middle class feels rejected by the establishment of both parties, and their anger will not cease until things change. Sanders and Trump are both populist nationalists. All the others save Cruz are elitist globalists.

We have begun the final countdown to revolution. Cue music, popcorn.

Breaking news: Chris Christie fails to qualify for the CBS debate, the only candidate to do so. Christie will reassess his campaign.

OP Update: The Polling update will be modified around 4pm US Central time, or when I receive my RCP polling update for today. Since the next round of polling will be South Carolina and the Super Tuesday states, I will post each state that is involved in Super Tuesday, with the caveat that such data is available, in a separate post in an effort to reduce clutter in the OP.

Better than a General Trump.

In the increasingly likely event Sanders or Trump are elected, you will happily find that neither is particularly warlike. Both reject neocon exceptionalism, and neither propose increases to the defense budget. Both are nationalists, but inward looking, not outward looking. Their mission is at home.

No, he only takes orders from Lord Helmet, although he orders around Major Asshole and Mister Coffee. There are ructions about in which Nashville Chicken usurped the role from the San Diego Chicken, thereby ending forty years of Zaxxon Rule with the ratification of the Maine Lobster Clause, thereby ending the Double Down amendment to the menu.

First his track ideas were rejected by Bernie Ecclestone, and now he fails to qualify due to the 1% rule.

Again - don't make me laugh.

"You know the thing I’ll be great at that people aren’t thinking? And I do very well at it. Military. I am the toughest guy. I will rebuild our military. It will be so strong, and so powerful, and so great. It will be so powerful and so great that we’ll never have to use it. Nobody’s going to mess with us, folks. Nobody.”

Trump is an egotistical narcissist with an delusional view of his own talents. He's going to "cut the head off ISIS" & take the oil, without "being particularly warlike"? He's going to "rebuild our military" without increasing the defense budget? He's going to accomplish this how? The US already has a military larger than the 7 next largest militaries in the world combined - this didn't stop 911, it hasn't ended the conflict in Afganistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya. Promising to destroy ISIS & take the oil doesn't sound like a recipe for non-intervention to me.

I've already explained that every US President has been drawn into foreign wars & interventions, regardless of their positions prior to being elected, but Trump has the ego & hubris & stupidity to escalate intervention to a whole new level.

Making people laugh is one the greatest things I can ever do. :D

But seriously, don't be taken in by Trump's bluster. No one else is. He is merely the vessel of people's anger. Sure, his personality is, uh, erratic perhaps. But his message is essentially peace and prosperity - "git the hell outa the middle east" is what his supporters are hearing.

Trump is nothing but bluster. You're exhibiting a peculiar fascination with the Donald. How does that video ad communicate the message: "git the hell outa the middle east"?

So what was the point of Christie's bullying attack of Rubio? It may have damaged Rubio, but it apparently didn't do much for Christie.

Because Christie is a fat, disgusting bully. It's a Jersey thing.

Oh, thank god. Carly Fiorina should open a dungeon for people with a degradation fetish. Much easier way to achieve her goals than becoming President.

Reserved for all Super Tuesday polling. If post is lost, link to the post will be provided in the OP.

Clinton's actions got this boy shot? Would you care to substantiate that at all?

Glad you asked, but have you ever stop realize that both Clintons are staunch supporters of the drug war? The very policy that have turned cities such as Chicago into massive havens for crime?

The only reason Hillary would pretend to care about that boy was if she thought it would gain her some votes, that's it.

One could also easily argue that the modern "war on drugs" started under Reagan, when the CIA first started to get involved in South America (Colombia in particular, of course). And that by the time Clinton came to office, political momentum all but forced him to continue the efforts (can you name any politician at all during that time who was willing to appear soft on drugs?).

We could get bogged down all day in such broad and far-reaching topics. I'd prefer you answer my original question:

What specific actions, taken by either Bill and/or Hillary, were directly responsible for the death of Tyshawn Lee, as you suggested earlier? (And don't try to wiggle out of it, you quite clearly made that claim with the "would be still alive" bit.)

Yeah poor Chicago, detroit, etc. Will only get worse with Hillary... I am facinated at why only 3 cannidates on democrat side ran. Was it the power of the Clintons or what... she may be unelectable. If dems loose the senate again they've got nothing but enough congressman to keep trump or Cruz from signing constitutional amendments for god sakes....and cruz could nominate anyone to SCOTUS anyways if he wins, he could nominate westburo baptist church to scotus if he wanted lol.

Anyways the dems really need to get the senate back if they loose the general with hillary and I think she will loose personally.

I can't speak of the specifics of that particular boy, but it can easily be argued that oppression has long been a tactic of the politicals(especially the left), hence the term "Chicago politics" Think for a moment what was going on in Arkansas when good ol Bill was in charge. Oh, only the start of the bloods and crips

Create a problem, pander for votes to solve it 👍
