Well now they got Porsche I'm expecting the 911 GT3-R, Cayman GT4 (for Gr.4 class), Cayman S, 919 Hybrid, 911 R, and maybe a Vision GT car if Porsche wants to join the Vision GT.

Still.....I never knew I see the day Porsche would finally be in GT. My face is like this when I saw the Newswire:

Welcome to the world of Gran Turismo Porsche.

Maybe they should add the 911 GT3 (996) as a reference to GT3.

I wouldn't get too excited, this is PD we are talking about.....things have been confirmed before and never followed through with. For me anyways, I would hold my excitement until I'm actually driving the car in the game.
Exactly totally agree hopefully more Porsches to come otherwise I'll be happy with a GT3 rs

Another official confirmation from GT Instagram :

Not that I'm doubting the 911 GT RS' inclusion in the final game, based on [some other stuff], but it has happened before: the Mercedes CLK-GTR was shown off in a whole bunch of GT2 early footage, but was cut from the release game.

It also almost happened with the Deltawing in GT6.

Could you imagine the outrage.

It is legit official I guess, so it is unlikely being cut from the game. I mean they really build the hype here and there today. To cut it would be a disastrous move, so no way they took that risk. Well, let's just enjoy this moment shall we? 👍

That was the point I was trying to make with my earlier comment, I just couldn't remember the exact instances. Thanks for pointing out what I couldn't remember. 👍 I think there were a few other situations also where things were shown in trailers and promised to be in the game but weren't. Although it does seem like a done deal with Porsche, I still hold to my, "I'll believe it when I see it in the actual released game." PD has disappointed far too many times for me to go hopping on any hype train.

I thought that as well, but... 6 months to model one(car). From November last year, the car may have been started January last year. PD knew the licence was expiring and no doubt, would have been getting at least one car ready. All they had to do is make a Gr.4, Gr.B and Gr.3 variant.

The pic with the Gr.3 Lancer in its garage, showed a Manthey Racing trailer. However long it took to model design that scene/scape, could have had a Porsche ready to go.

I'm guessing there's more than one Porsche in the game.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. What a time to be alive!

Never thought I'd see the day Porsche would be included in GT.

Between past and present appearances in GT games, they now have the capability to replicate the entire BPR series field. They should do that.

Sadly, that is not how PD works. The people at PD lack the willingness to include cars from one specific season. Take GT3 for an example. They have a decent line-up for GT Sport, but the cars are from entirely different years. They lack any ability to focus on specific things, and instead try to cover as much as possible, even if the end result is wide but shallow.

No, it's a legit separate manufacture from Porsche, it's existed in other games with Porsche. The sim racing world seems to understand that and this is why it's in games. And currently exist in all games not named GT with Porsche that are mainstream. Well except Pcars.

Pcars could not have Porsche because...EA.But Pcars 2 will have Porsche (if I am not mistaken). So AC first then Pcars 2 and GTS (for PS4 that is).

Aren't the Nascars in GT5 and GT6 from specific seasons?
