Porsche Not in FM4 Confirmed (Originally Porsche may be in Forza 4. Check this out).

Not really, this is a beef between T10 and EA, so PD could still potentially reason them down in the future for future games.

If it wasn't for how EA have treated other licences, I would agree, but EA don't often like to share and fact they were sharing the Porsche licence was always quite a odd situation.

No it wasn't obvious camaroboy.
Sorry to rub salt into the wound, but there was *many* clues pointing to Porsche not being in.

I am very sad, but hardly surprised. We all saw it coming.

FIFA was the inferior brand to pro evo.
Madden was inferior to 2K sports I believe.

Doesn't matter because history shows that the consumer prefers authenticity over the better game experience.

EA have just been quickest to react to this.

As someone else said.
Competition is good for us gamers.
This sort of competition is bad for us gamers.

We all lose out.

As for the Forza vs GT debate about porsches in one but not another. I don't recall that being mentioned at all on Scaff's thread. I might have missed an odd comment though.

Shouden I still hope your Warthog is in for you. I'm still not bitter.

It hasn't been one of the focal points of the debate, so far, at the very least. Well, scratch the "so far" bit, it's surely not going to change now.

If I was the CEO of RUF I'd be royally PO'd about this, to be quite honest. Being treated like a substitute brand for Porsche wouldn't exactly be what I'd want for my brand.

Are you kidding? RUF is all smiles over this. How else would a tiny manufacturer who sells as many cars in a year that the average Toyota store sells in a day or two get such visibility? How many people even knew what RUF was before they sat down in front of a GT game or now FM?

Somebody down the road at Alpinia is saying "please no BMW, please no BMW!"

Sorry but you are wrong. There we're no clues whatsoever that porsches didn't make it in. The inclusion of RUF wasn't 'proof'. In FM3 we first heard of Porsche when they first announced the LCE as having the gt3 rs as an exclusive incentive. No signs pointed one way or the other. The hd trailer showed what looked like a factory Porsche with aero kit. Then the alms announcement sided with the logical assumption that porsches should be in. That's all without looking at the history of t10 using so many of their cars in the game.mesand as incentives.

Basically everybody who could afford one? :dunce: Otherwise, there'd be no RUF, right?
Same goes for Gumpert, Radical or the likes. Do you think they're sitting there, begging PD or T10 to take their license to model a car of theirs so they can finally get some exposure?

Dunno, but I'd say that being shown in a single episode of Top Gear will do a manufacturer more good (if its positive, of course), than being in a dozen of Forza and GT games.

I would has to disagree in regard to som eof this.

You are right that the inclusion of Ruf was not proof, however it was a clue that all might not be well with the inclusion of Porsche.

Enough clues existed that members who were Forza fans (and as such were not biased) were worried that they might not be in.

Nothing that could be considered 'proof', but clues and proof are different things.

It would be cool if a "Turn your Ruf into a proper Porsche" tune got "leaked" out.
Since its T10, THAT could very well be a possibility with the body kits, engine swaps, and drivetrain swaps. Anything is possible with Forza and T10. But to be honest, I really wont miss Porsche. But they could allow a look alike swap to happen with in game upgrades.

Blame EA for this disaster between licenses. Cant stand EA. This is why Lamborghini didnt make it to TDU2, Porsche didnt make it to GT and many other games are missing out. Blame EA.

I would hope that Dan has added a feature to de-tune the RUF's to Porsche status. That way we could at least pretend we are driving a Porsche. He may even add a body kit similar to the Flying Lizard, and leave the community to make a livery.

EDIT: Tree'd

Bogie 19th
I have seen this a couple times "Tree'd". May I ask what that means in an edit?

Its to do with the drag strip starting tree (lights) I believe.

One poster out dragged the other lol.

Yeah if it wasn't for video games I'd have no idea RUF would exist. I never see them on the road or on TV in official races. I just tried to even google RUFs being used by racing teams and got nothing. Please tell me there is at least 1 racing team using RUF? :ouch:

And yes seeing RUF popup was a bad sign cause it simply did not exist in FM 2 or FM 3. Turn 10 simply didnt care about them til FM 4.

That being said, I do look forward to messing around with RUF. Like I've said before, in GT5 they are crappy standard models. Would love to see one modeled properly

I myself was worried the brand would disappear from the franchise but reading this thread the mere fact that RUF existed was enough 'proof' for many to go on, and yet there's a game that exists which includes both brands. I wanted porsches in gt since gt1. Its not a gaming bias thing here. Its the fact im obsessed with the car brand both street and in motorsports and although I love the inclusions of the RUFs I would rather have Porsches.

Just as many 'clues' were there against the brand, there were more FOR the brand being in. ALMS was the cherry on top. 4 car classes, 1 entirely devoted to 911 GT Cup cars with the top GT class having constant major battles between the vettes, Ferraris and Porsches.

And now ALMS just wont feel right with missing Porsche... like it won't feel right at all!

To top it off, if there were some cars, particularly a brand of cars to use AutoVista... Porsche was the one I was most looking forward to even if I'd know 99.999% of whatever they'd say.

EA will loose the exclusive Porsche license next year because they signed a ten year contract from 2002-2012 for NFS Porsche unleashed hopefully we'll get Porsche DLC next year

In my opinion we should blame microsoft in loosing Porshe for T10 project which is the main sim on X360. Microsoft could make EA to share their license for FM4. But the policy in microsoft has already showed us their attitude to their main developers teams. I mean Bizzare Creations and fine PGR series. Microsoft didn't do anything to keep Bizzare working on exclusives title PGR.

I hope MS get it or Porsche gives sub-licenses out, otherwise I seriously consider to arm myself.

Porsche in DLC is always possible if they work something out...though I am not holding my breath.

The thing is that they already have them ready and they were in the early build of the finished product that have been shown behind closed doors at the gamescom. :ouch:

That'd be quite good if it expires next year. That'd ensure Porsche in FM5, at least. Of course, T10 could just release all of the Porsche cars they've modelled in one go as DLC, too.

Microsoft could make EA to share their license for FM4.
How so? I think anything MS could do to EA would hurt themselves just as much in the long run.

I hope MS get it or Porsche gives sub-licenses out, otherwise I seriously consider to arm myself.
Porsche should just keep their license to themselves and give them out as they please, as most other manufacturers seem to do.
