Usually, Drive is at the bottom and so is the manual mode. Just weird to see it at the middle like that.
older VW automanual shifters do that. And then there's the ZZT230 Celica.

That little area? Manual mode.

My dad found some pics of his old GS a couple days ago. This is from around October of 2006, right before he turned it in at the end of the lease. But it's pretty cool since I thought that we didn't have any surviving pictures of it.

Freaking. Mint.

I have little hope it's kept in the same condition if it's been passed around.

lol

To be honest, other than when he drove the car off the lot, that was probably the cleanest it ever was during his ownership. My dad just isn't the type of guy to be conscientious of car care. He loved that car though... I remember my mom making a big stink because he paid extra for the chrome wheels.

Yea. I can barely hear the turbo but it's there lol.

Pretty solid engines, those are basically all I work on at work. Main thing to look out for is the coolant temp sensor since they had a recall on those (super easy to replace), and the condition of the turbo depending on mileage of course. But I've seen plenty of high mileage ones run like a dream if they've been maintained right!

Are they pretty easy to work on? Told myself I would only let a mechanic touch it if anything goes wrong with it but if it's not bad to work on, I'd probably attempt the problem myself.

Depends what you want to do. Yours is mounted longitudinal so things shouldn't be too hard to get to, unless you want to do gearbox stuff. I work mostly on the transversely mounted ones and those are a nightmare if you want to do anything with the exhaust manifold/turbo. I've rebuilt the top end on one and it seemed straight forward enough to do. If you ever do run into problems with it (which, of course, I hope you don't ;)), I'd be willing to offer any advice I can.

My 93 mk3 golf vr6 puts out about 230hp
Tops out at 260kmh

A few VIR shots from back in early June...

(Quick shutter speed on this one, I was probably going about 115 mph / 185 kmh when this was taken)

(Funny how large my car looks relative to a 996 bodied Porsche. Complete opposite now compared to a 991--shows how much bigger the 911 has grown)

(These two shots (both above) really show the suspension working, even though one is high speed and the other low speed)
