I scanned through the NTSC GT2 demo game today looking for images, like Xenn did before. Apparently there was supposed to be a C-Class Touring Car aswell, in addition to the CLK Race Car.

Wow, really? Can I see these?

Correction: Those nameplate pics are on the really old- unusable sim disc of GT2 I got when I was 5. Doesn't run on the PS1 -:grumpy:- but has all the pictures and stuff on it when scanned, go figure. EDIT: Tried to play it on the PS2, doesn't work. I'll just keep playing GT4 till I get GT2. Pics will be uploaded in the morning, I need sleep.

I think I found the C-Class car in the GT2 final.

GT2 demo's replay theatre, which seems to have some sort of debugging feature left in.

How did you access those? I have the Playstation Underground Jampack GT2 demo, are they in the GT2.VOL file?

Im left looking at the "Gallely" () and can only say, those pictures actually look pretty damn good. In a ps1 sortof way... now, somewhere, I have the ps1 demo mcdonalds weregiving away ten years ago. GT2, Wip3out, Vib Ribbon (did that ever get released?), and maybe a metal gear solid, but i dont know... whoknows, it might be hiding really cool stuff. But tbh, its doing far too good a job of hiding itself as i have actually not seen it since its card sleeve was invaded by some other "Demo 1" so the maccy d thing is M.I.A. :-( Lol

I thought it was odd that they clearly included the paint schemes for the 1998/1999 BTCC Cars (Except the Volvo S40, which was the only works car to be excluded from the game), but they didn't actually create them as proper RMs. That annoyed me a little.

I'm pretty sure it should be the same thing. And to get it, you'll need a code to change what mode you'll load on the title screen.

In other findings...

(The colors are way off, but you can barely make it out...)

Look what we got here.

Okay so statistics might not qualify as odd, but I hate to start a new thread for this. Was looking at displacement per mass and something pretty surprising came up.

Aside from the obvious Kei cars, the heaviest car per cc of engine displacement is the kind of awesome Audi TT, followed immediately by the also cool S3. Both 1.8L engines, but heavy at 3077lbs/1395kg stock for the TT, 3033lbs/1375kg for the S3. Both about 8% less displacement per mass than where the wimpy cars pick up (although the Weds Celica, truly an oddity in its own right, is next after the S3 on the list less than 1% ahead.)

I'm decided to open my GT2 CD files with PSIcture.
Only two files were able to be opened with it. And they had identical pics.
I'm interested, what these 3 pics are doing in this game? They are too cartoon-ish for this game.

You wouldn't mind posting the images separate would you? The file won't work on my system with its .rar file.

He posted the same thing in a different thread, basically their the files that represent the car shine.

If you have the pictures download from the file, could the people with the incompatibility to use .rar files see the pictures without downloading the file?

You forgot this? :indiff:

After investigating, it looks that these are shine effect files for the cars. ;)

There's one for daytime (0003), morning/sunset (0004), and night (0005). 💡

Has anyone heard of a hidden R33 Skyline Sedan race mod? Well there's a body only race mod for the car with weird color shifting. In the used lot there's this 4 door R33 sedan with all the regular R33 colors, as well as a prize "Autech Version" that only comes in yellow. I'm not sure which one the mod is supposed to be for, but neither one accepts a sharkless RM. I noticed that on a save I found there was this car and it was in the garage it was silver and it was yellow when I raced it. Odd. I might post the save I found later.

I just entered a race at Laguna Seca with my stock Chrysler Phaeton (I'm crazy, ain't I). The car was bouncing everytime I went over bumps and through corners. It was pretty weird and annoying. I lost, of course. :grumpy:

The car was bouncing every time I went over bumps and through corners.

This tends to happen with most cars. Probably because entering a turn, hitting the elevated bumps and continuing turning at a full turn when getting off the bumps can tend to send the car in a bouncing spree. Don't be surprised if this happens again.

I guess the oddity in the above post is that somebody actually tried to race a stock Phaeton!

Now I just noticed something odd. When you go to check the stock spring rates of the Mini Cooper 1.3i all you see is blank spaces where the numbers should be! Working backwards from the sports suspension rates, which normally multiply stock by 1.5, I'd guess the stock Cooper sits on 3.2kg/mm front, 2.7 rear. Which might also be considered an oddity, since this puts the Cooper up there with the sportiest of sports cars in terms of stock springs per kg of car mass. That sucker is tuned to handle! And sits at only 105mm, also super low, haven't yet noticed anything else which sits that low stock, Spoon Civic and Integra, TRD3000GT, and AZ-1 A-Spec are closest at 115mm.
