Its been noted that the BMW 5 series loses its stated power, but has anyone noticed how much like a diesel this engine feels like? Examples: the sound, loss of power after 5000 rpm, torque at 2000 rpm

Nissan Sunny '91

Paraphrase: In Japan it's called the Pulsar, and in Europe it's called the Sunny, but we'll call it the Pulsar

On the licence tests, it incorrectly states the launch speeds as being in mph, when they are actually in kph.

And I noticed more discrepancies in the car descriptions. I'll come back with more substance.

The Mini Cooper 1275S MK1 is listed as being 1760mm wide, while the normal Minis are only 1410mm wide. That's quite a widebody kit! Just a PD typo, I'm sure...

Okay, here's an oddity. Guess what fully tuned car gets the most hp out of each liter of engine displacement.

Evo VI? Close...
GTR R34? Closer...

Subaru 360? Bingo! Put, put.. zoom!

142hp out of 356cc = 399hp/L, compared with 393hp/L for the Escudo, 387hp/L for del sol LM edition, big drop to 305hp/L for TT LM Edition, then 301hp/L for R34 and 297hp/L for Evo VI. Now if the Sirion/Storia Rally Car is really sporting a 658cc engine, then it would have 700+hp/L, highly unlikely... Lots of kei cars make it high in the list, though.

At the bottom of the list? (aside from the Clio...) A whole bunch of cars with great fully tuned powerbands, '82 Stingray 2nd worst above Clio, and mostly old muscle cars and Vipers for a while after that except for the odd inclusion of the XJR15 GT Race Car in 5th worst place with 78hp/L fully tuned...

Okay, here's another one. Flattest pancake? Easy, XJ220, GT-ONEs, M12 and Elise GT1. not odd, just trivia.

Largest volume? Espace? Actually it's a close 2nd, with Superbird 1st, Phaeton in 3rd, and (gasp!) Escudo in 4th?!?

I know the Audi S4 and Venturi 300 get a HUGE amount of extra power via upgrades. Like 400+ hp each over their stock power. Something like that. I'm not sure how it translates power per liter, though. I'm too busy to do the math at the moment.

Oh, I've got spreadsheets doing the tricks for me.

The S4 gets 225hp/L tuned and the Atlantique 300 bi-turbo 214hp/L.

Anything over 200hp/L tuned is an exclusive club: Skylines, Supras, 300ZX, 3000GT, Silvias, MR2's, Altezzas, Lan Evos, WRX STi's, some Honda 1.6L's, a few others, LM's and race cars, and the silly kei cars.

More impressive is the best hp/L of stock production cars:
Lan Evo VI, 155hp/L
WRX STi VI, 150hp/L

and between the two's previous versions they pretty much monopolize the list down to 128hp/L when the GT-R R34 steps in, because except for some RUF's and tuner cars, the MR-2 GT-S '99 at 135hp/L is the only production non Lan Evo/WRX STi car above the R34.

Simple, really, Just take hp, divide by displacement in cc's, and multiply by 1000 to get hp/L.

Ex: Tom's 280T stock
266hp/1998cc*1000cc/L=133.1hp/L (which is great, but it's a tuner car no regular production so Evo's and WXR's and MR-2 GT-S '99 are much more to brag about since 1000's of them were made for the general public.)

I got one here.

I found this while in the files of the GT2 demo.

The XJ's power doesn't match it's description. And today I definitely noticed "Plam Strip" on the opening movie of arcade mode.

Xenn, what do you mean when you said going through the files? How did you get that to show up?

Basically using your disc with something like UltraISO to get the contents.

And then getting a tool to view the game images:

That is cool! Is there a way to get that to show up in the demo? I wonder if its on the full game aswell...

You have to get it to appear by editing what screen will load in GT mode with a code.

I'm going to see what's in the full game as I speak.

Still searching if the gallery is in GT2 final, but I happened to come across this:

Is this a japanese version only picture? Anyone got the japanese version to confirm this?

Edit: Looked through all the screens, gallery has been removed. Looks like it was an early removal.

In the NTSC versions of GT2, the Honda screen features that S2000, so that is what Parnelli was confused about. Now I just learned that the PAL version has an NSX in the Honda screen.

Ah I see now, thanks for clearing that up :)

Which is a big oddity, as the PAL version has an NSX and the NTSC has a British-registered S2000.

Gran Turisumo Gallely?

Looks like they were thinking of Photo Mode even back then.

Being on the demo only, I guess they were just showcasing the touched-up promo images of the game. A few of these images feature in this section.

EDIT: Sorry for the DP. Forgot I'd already replied to this thread.
