Ford RS200 description is that of an Escort Mk2 (LoL);
JGTC GT500 Skylines are 4WD (fail);
All JGTC cars have too much power;
The Silhouette Skyline is Foumula instead of Formula.

Maybe I'll find more.

OMG Palm Strip shows up again. I play the Italian version of GT2 and license test IA-3 is called "Usage of steering 9: Palm Strip.:nervous: The actual track you drive on is Apricot Hill.

What I looked up was that the RS200 is the predecessor of the Escort RS2000 and the successor being the Escort Cosworth. So the RS200 and the Escort have a relationship.

Yes, but the description says that the Escort RS2000 won the Tour of Britain in 1974 and that it had a Ford Cortina engine producing a 100hp. True, but the car in the game is an RS200, not an Escort RS2000. The RS200 is an 1986 Group B rally car! Plus the title of the description says Escort RS1600 & RS2000. Keep in mind this problem is only found in the American NTSC version (I have the 1.0).

Anyway, we should keep this thread alive as it's fun to find oddities in those legendary games!:)

I'll keep looking for more interesting finds!

I think I found one: I can't get the information on the SR Widebody. Actually, I guess some special model cars don't have information. So this wasn't an oddity. I didn't know about it before, so it's good to know :)

Yep. 600HP instead of 400 like in GT4.

Here's one: I play the NTSC version and when i go to Seattle, there is sometimes Vauxhall billboards when Opel is only available in the NTSC version.

Back in the PAL version you can have both Vauxhall and Opel cars in your garage.
Vauxhall only shows up when the game language is set for English. If you choose any other language, you get Opel instead. But you can still buy the cars and change back to your prefered language.

I'm not sure if this is an oddity or not, but I'll say it anyway.
In both the japanese and NTSC intros of GT2, I've seen the blue, 1996 Dodge Viper GTS. It wasn't a racing mod, I didn't see any decals on it or a spoiler on the back. It looked like a standard, blue viper. I've seen it on the back of my GT2 case too in one of the pictures. The 1996 viper gts isn't in GT2 though.

I was working on a GT2 touring car image project when I noticed this, on the [R] Renault Laguna:

There is a blue viper in the intro to GT2, but it is not in the game.:indiff: Pity it isn't, i like it better than the silver with blue stripes.👍

In most, if not all license tests, the speed you start from is said to be mph, but it's actually km/h (eg. Launch from 200mph is actually 200km/h).

Just noticed that someone just said what I just said on the previous page. :dunce:

There are no descriptions of or race events (they're hidden in the Honda dealership as NSX "normal" races!) for Acura cars. There's no wheel changes for one of my BMW's. Only 100 cars in the garage? Really? (Haven't had it happen to me yet, but heard of the occurence.). :crazy:👎 All the awesome JGTC cars are way too powerful and that may be the same for the RUF's, but, then again, why not more POWAH?! :dopey:
Several cars don't have any RM's. Some I can understand since there already is a race version, like the GT40, some are a little more questionable, like no RM's in a BMW or RUF or Plymouth? COME ON!!!

Here's something strange I found

I was looking at the specs at my RX-7 LM Edition and it says the Engine Type is Rotor2 Rotary.

I don't know if this is a typo or not.

I noticed that when I was racing on Seattle, on the first uphill spot when I was grinding the wall it looked like I was magnetized on it and didn't jump on the uphill part.

Which is the glitchiest and most fun version of GT2 to mess around with.
I've some PSX tools I could explore the game with.

Sorry if this was already posted, but I'm a bit lazy today. Here was something that I found odd, while replaying GT2 (by means that are not allowed to be discussed in this forum):

In the highlighted icon - it says "Histric".

Same thing with the icon - only it says "Muscule". You might have also noticed that it's the 1.0 GT2 version, with the license bug. I then tried to race on those raced (I have all licenses) and the competition wasn't IA-Class.

Again, sorry if it's a repost.

Probably not, the Mazda RX-7 has always had 2 654cc rotary engines. Not sure about the LM though, could be the same...

That's true. Every rx7 have 2 engines,Only one will cause extreme undrpower and rpms may fall out on the third gear(i think).

I don't know if this was covered but I noticed something about Venturi.

In the descriptions of both the 300 Bi Turbo and 400GT, they are both called 300, 400GT.
