And now, may I bring to your attention: Global Compact Car Cup Race 1. The menu claims that it takes place on Rome City Course, but you actually race on Rome Short Course.

How about the sound on the Simulation disk. It breaks up and then cuts out completely and all you're left with is the crappy music.

sounds like you have a scratched disk there, or perhaps it is the playstation itself. I turned mine upside down, that seems to stop audio skipping and bugs. Also loads better and plays smoother.

Putting your game disc upside down? Really? Isn't that discouraged by the console manual?

Maybe they mean that they face the disk so that the text on the label appears upside down. I'm not sure...
I used to think that when it said place the disk with the label facing up in the instruction manual it meant put it in so that the text appears the correct way round.

The last line of the description on the Lotus dealership page says "Lotus is now owned by Proton company Lotus" :dopey:

I think it is meant to say "Lotus is now owned by Malaysian company Proton" (or words to that effect).

In the loading screens of the Special Licence tests (I remember the one with TS020 on Apricot Hill) there are some unusual stripes, sometimes even some text.

In some licence test descriptions it is said that you will gain control of the car at 150mph, when you actually gain it at 150km/h. (PAL version)

One oddity I did come across was the pricing for a couple of cars: A '99 Mercury Cougar is identical to the '99 Ford Cougar 2.5i V6 24v. Same cars, but the Mercury costs 18,020 Cr., and the Ford costs 42,000 Cr.. What for?!

Yes, I noticed that too. I'm going to play GT2 again to check the differences. :indiff:

I flew over the overpass on trail mountain in a RM"d NSX after hitting the bump XD , at the time I thought it was the coolest thing ever

The only differences I've noticed were the car sounds & color selection, the mercury cougar gives you more colors to choose from, but the ford cougar sounds better than the mercury cougar imo.

In the demo version of GT2, there's in the ford dealer a normal Escort Model, the 1.8 Gti I believe was the model. I wonder why PD left it out of the game? Also in the demo, the Lancia Delta HF Intergrale is actually the evolution version in the final game and the Opel Tigra in the Demo has bigger taillights than in the final.

I just started playing GT2 again a few days ago and noticed 2.5 oddities so far (PAL version):

1: In the license tests the launch speed says miles, e.g. 150 mph. When I attend the test I launch at 150 kph.

2: In one of the first events (it's either ff or Sunday cup) there is a race at High Speed Ring. However, on the race info screen, it says the track is called High Speed Link

2.5 Some people say PD has used parts of Spa (Eau Rouge) for the license tests. I don't think so. The left on top of the real hill is not as slow as it is in GT2. They do seem similar though..

The track name used in the game says Eau-Rouge, so it may be possible they did use parts of it.

I just noticed a Lutecia logo in the Japanese GT2 intro. That car (apparently IIRC) does not exist in the game.

The Lutecia is the Japanese name for the Clio so maybe it was meant to be use in the NTSC-J version of the game.
