Yeah. That's one thing I never understood is the lack of cars that have the displacement up option available. It sucks cause that's like one of the best upgrades other than a turbo...

I think it was based on the dealers that offered the option in real life.

Got some more:

1. Getting stuck at the license test with the walls with the 106 Rally
2. Getting stuck at a wall in Laguna
3. The short name of the cars does not show the Manufactures name, the Mazda does show in the short name
4. It's Nissan R30 Skyline Silhouette Formula,not Nissan R30 Skyline Silhouette Foumula

This has probably been said but i have noticed if you shunt a car into the wall at the top of the hill on seattle they sometimes stay there for ages.

Yeah, i remember reading this somewhere, too. However, i've read a lot of literature on the Austin-Rover Minis and Datsun 240Z and never have i come across displacement increase as an option at the dealership.

Maybe it was if a tuning shop offered it on that model?

since a picture says more than a 1000 words:

ah well,another one:

The Tommykaira ZZ II displays the Tommykaira ZZ III text :grumpy:

The Phaeton is listed as 472 hp,but it is really 501 hp.
The 106 1.6 Rallye is listed as 102 hp,but it is only 99!

95% of the cars in GT2 make more/less power than advertised ... just like in real life :P

And it's interesting how Gran Turismo never explain why. The 2 most common theories are: 1. the manufacturer is lying about quoted power to try and evade government restrictions and 2: the dealer who's selling you the car is lying. This is surely the case with such cars like the Renault Clio 16v, which rates at 63 horsepower less than the dealer says it does. Yikes!

With some cars, it's merely an error on PD's part (i.e. Dodge Stratus, Volkswagen Golf V6, etc.), while others are for other reasons ...

There are no government restrictions on horsepower in Japan ... It's a "Gentleman's Agreement," an unwritten agreement not to produce engines capable of more than 280 ps (~276 hp). This agreement was recently broken to better compete with cars from other countries ...

However, while the agreement was in place, no one actually obeyed the agreement in reality. They still listed their cars as only having 280 ps, but they were actually capable of producing much more power (350+ hp Skylines aren't uncommon in stock form).

Another great example is the Chevrolet Camaro, which was listed at 285 hp but really made slightly less than the Corvette rated at 330 hp (slightly less because of a slightly more restrictive exhaust). Meanwhile, it's main competitor, the Ford Mustang, had engines that really produced less than their claimed power (which is also reflected in the game ... 225/260 hp advertised > 207 hp reality) ... Unfortunately, the 285 hp Camaro is still only 285 hp in the game :(

Because all the tracks are in Magical Gran Turismo Land where all the race tracks are right next to each other and your car never needs any prep work and your tires only wear out if you want to drive more then 20 laps at a time.
In Magical Gran Turismo Land all cars are street legal, and all modifications are installed in an instant by mystical mod pixies, who look a little like the Pep Boys but don't tell them that.
In Magical Gran Turismo Land no car dealership is more then 3 seconds drive away, except for some that always remain shimmering illusions on the horizon. At the car dealerships, you can see most any car you can think of, and the rarest and most non-existant vehicles can be yours. All production runs are unlimited, all used cars are flawless and you couldn't wreck any of them if you tried.
Don't go as far as the test track though, or the only criminal in all of Magical Gran Turismo Land will break into your mysterious supergarage and steal some of your cars, and do strange things to the other ones.
You can never be finished with Magical Gran Turismo Land unless you are bilingual, because nobody can find the drag strip, so just relax and enjoy and wish you had that much money and that many cars in real life.

and how the heck can I drive 127 races in 125 days? :P
The events which contain a series of races (GT500, for example) only count as one day ...

The shortest period of time you can get 100% complete in GT2 is 226 days.

219 events - 235 races
6 licenses - 60 license tests

Each event takes a day, each license takes a day ... and you start on day 1 ...

are you sure each license test takes a day? if i remember right, i did all the licenses and it said 2 days after i finished, i could be mistaken

Naw, each license test = 1 day no matter how many tries you take at it.

GT2 uses the same background for several tracks. Has anyone else noticed that Grand Valley, Apricot Hill, and Midway (others i'm forgetting) all ahve that white river/glacier thing in the background? Theoretically, this means they all exist in the same spot, perhaps in different realities realities realities... øð¬å®†ºø呩橑åø©*¬®‘åøµ*–漺’¶¥h;

lol i had noticed that with two tracks, didnt know it was on more though. thats kinda strange but i dont really pay much attention to the backgrounds usually :)

Frequently in license tests, you'll have a car already rolling along. For instance, in IC-5, the Toyota Supra Rz is doing 93 mph from the get-go. Now if you look in the background, you can see a tire wall. So the assumption is the car started accelerating back there and is now doing 93 mph; however, when i backed the Supra up so its rear bumper was sitting on the tire wall and accelerated, the fastest i could hit was 52!

Another oddity: the tire wall. when you hit one, it goes SMACK! what's the deal? Do they fill them with concrete? One of those things that makes you go Hmmmmm as Arsenio Hall used to say....

i dunno if its been mentioned but if you get a max tuned Escudo and go on leguna seca at the end of the main stretch at the corner if you just go straight and full speed and ram into the wall between the what us supposed to be tired and the actual wall you can break through and drive around.

Something else thats funny is the turbo physics are way more realistic in GT2 than in GT3 and GT4

The Laguna Seca bug is the most famous ‘cool’ glitch in the game, and the vanishing garage bug is the suckiest.
That sucks about the GT3 & 4 turbo physics! :( I haven't played either of those yet so i don't know what i'm in for. I really liked the GT1 turbos...they are the most realistic by far.

HAve this happened to any of you guys latley. I was drving my escudo to the corkscrew and i hit the wall when you just go striagh on the wall there and when i hit it i spun like 20 and went all the way back to the other wall.

Driftnewb110
i dont know if this is one but in motorsport land i was trying to drift and i got my r32 stuck in in the tires on the inside of the turn on teh harpin after the "S"

another glitch on the motorsport land track, at first i thought it was just my disc being a poohead, but i went over muh friends place and i could pull it off on his too.. The very last corner before coming back onto the straight. if you keep on the grass and keep close to the tire barrier then once youve completely gone round the corner it will popup with a message saying "off-course" and you can drive off into infinity... in this infinity there are also many other images of the motorsports land track that you can drive through. To get back onto the track simple go back to the origanal track and start follwing the course again, eventually the "off-course" popup will go away.

speaking of motor sports land, on that same corner (the last one before the straight) if you get too close to or hit the barrier, it will say 'wrong way' and youll have to go back around the barrier and redo the corner or you cant finish the lap
