Pre Order confusion....

Someone posted a link a couple pages back about how the Apex II book was going to be released for Android/iOS devices, no word on an alternative to those who don't have a smartphone/tablet though. But then again, can you get apps with an iTunes account on a computer?

As for the confusion about the cars; There's different pre-order incentives and editions of the game in different regions. I believe so far the steelbook is only for the Anniversary Edition Europe and has the 20 cars, and you get the 5 more if you pre-order go through a 'participating' retailer. But US is more limited in that if you want all 25 cars you have to go through GameStop. Please correct me if I have misinterpreted it. :dunce::)

This is precisely why preorder incentives are BAD FOR GAMING!!!!!

If I worked at a retail store that has preorder cards, I wouldn't get the bonus BS because its not one of the four 'participating' [extorting] retailers.

Apparently, that's how it works Golf guy. Sad, sad as Dave says. It's bull:censored: of unbelievable amounts, and I cannot believe how someone in SCEA thought it would be a good idea. Screw Gamestop, what makes them so special? I've only heard bad things about them and I don't trust them with making the trouble-free transaction I need in order to get the game. I need my order to arrive without any issue at the house of a friend/relative in the U.S so he/she can mail it to me but I can't tell them "Oh, would you please go and argue with a mediocre employee about why I didn't get my pre-order bonus?". Amazon on the other hand is nothing short of great. But for prefering Amazon, I get screwed. Way to go SCEA!!!

Honestly, they could even make :censored:ing money out of it. Just sell the goddamned 15th Anniversary Edition in the U.S, I promise IT WILL SELL. So, you give us the same things others are getting in their pre-order, throw in a shiny steelbook and some plastic gimmick with the GT logo, and you get $15/$20 bucks more. It's a no brainer!!!! But nooooooooooo...Gamestop all the way...I don't know why...
 
I would have loved a steelbook copy in the U.S., but only if it was no more than $10 extra
 
Why are people so worked up? You have almost 3 and half months before its released. Just wait for a bit until all the details are out about the preorder process, then have at it.
 
Exactly... no need to worry about the precise pre-order details at this point. I see that the Canadian EBgames/GameStop website still hasn't updated their information, either. I probably won't put in my preorder until October/November. Really no point in doing it any earlier.

Most likely EB haven't updated their listing yet. The info on GT website is surely the correct one. The Apex book is NOT coming with the game. The EU Playstation blog posted that it will come out on Android or iTunes. It says for everyone so I'm not sure if you get a code with the game that allows you access, or you have to buy it separately.

I'm assuming it's a PDF? I have no way of knowing for sure, but that's what I'd expect. I'm sure there is a way to transfer a PDF from your phone to the PC/Mac and print it out that way. The only pages I used were the tuning ones, which were helpful...except for the backward front/rear suspension thing :lol:

As for the pre-order stuff, I love starting with 20,000 Cr. or whatever and then slowly building up my cars and cash. I think I'll wait on unlocking the 1 Mil. Cr. until after I complete the game and start on getting every car (as I've done in every other GT game to date :D)

I thought Europe got the true 'Anniversary Edition' with the 20 cars/steelbook and you can then pre-order it from a participating retailer to get the last 5?

Hoping so. But so far I have not seen any participating retailer in UK or Norway.

Hoping that will change:)
 
I have already pre ordered my copy @ GS. Only Gamestop/EB Games has the 15th Anniversary upgrade. Any country that does no have a GS or EB Games will have to pre order online @ GS to get the 15th Anniversary edition? I live in the US so I am not 100% sure. But what I want to know is do I automatically get the 15th Annversary Edition or have to pay extra?
 
I can only speak for the US...but if you want ALL the pre-order cars then you MUST order from GameStop...period...

the anniversary edition is EXCLUSIVE to GS in the US....
 
I'm not sure I like the blue cars all that much, though its a great collection. I pre ordered GT5 at bet buy because I wanted the special GTR, wonder what preorder package they will have if any.

So far looks like Amazon is a good choice, get 5 cars and 1 million in game credits so I can buy a good amount of the cars I want.

That is the Gamestop list, so if you have ordered from Gamestop you will receive those cars. From what I can make out you might get both packs, but i'm not sure.
 
I'm hoping that the 1,000,000 credits is a optional code, my favourite part of GT has always been the banger racing start and I wont have the will power to not spend that money if it is already in the account!

It'd certainly make more sense for the credits to simply be a DLC download code, so yeah, you'd be able to ignore them if need be.

No fear that it'll sell out? That's why my pre-order dates back to March this year

EDIT: Which may've been pointless because within 2 days of the announcement, I upgraded to anniversary edition, which I guess makes it an August pre-order for a December launch game... to be sure to be sure, and in Australia we might get less copies anyway - then again, if its a demand supplied version (how many people want it, round it up to the nearest figure), then they'd be some pre-order deadline, and how would I know when that is? Best to pre-order asap, and worry about the payment only once it launches
 
The Anniversary Edition is £64.97 on Gamestop UK. The standard edition on Amazon has dropped to £35.

Do we know who the 'participating retailers' are yet?

#1 The first 4 cars in the list are just normal cars noting special that just for pre-order the game.
#2 The list only have only 2 diferent cars the Aventador and V12 Vantage
so far as i can see in this page http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt6/preorder/ we will get the 25 15th Anniversary cars and the first 4 cars on your list that are the -BMW Z4 GT3 2011 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C7) 2014 Tesla Motors Model S Signature Performance 2013. If you get it at gamestop.Well this is for US Vercion i dont know abaut the rest
