I don't know how true their release dates are, but if you look off to the right side of the screen near the top, it will give the game information. It says:
US: Unreleased
Japan: October 2007
Europe: Q1 2008
Australia: Q1 2008

Now I don't know if it says unreleased because there hasn't been a confirmed date just yet or what, but I don't think PD is that ignorant....i know it GT4p wasn't released here, and if they don't release GT5p, it will be a huge mistake.

EDIT: Ah, beat me to it White, sry for the extra post

To all the people against painting thier cars, if you love your cars being and looking stock so much, don't paint them and mod them up, it's as simple as that really. But having that option gives the people that want to turn a bog standard road car into their own personalised race car, can. And to thoes players, like myself, it adds a whole new level of depth to the game with regards to personalisation, growing attached to your cars and expressing your creativity.

And I've never once raced against anyone with a penis on the side of thier car, or anime porn in Forza 2, in fact, players who are spotted with that get tend to get banned so for them, it's counter productive. As I siad, I've never seen it myself so I don't think it's that big a problem. I do enjoy seeing what other people have come up with though, I like the cars inspired by racing legends and what not most.

I believe that it's not a matter of being against it.
It's more as in: "If it's not there, it won't bother me one bit, what I really want is the game to be as good as expected in terms of physics, graphics and realism". That's my opinion, don't know if anyone else agree.

Of course if visual customization would be on the game, I would use it probably on most of my cars to some extent.

I think you misread my post, cause it says UNRELEASED, which is sad :(

As for nascar, I'm just mad cause they took away WRC on speed and replace it with all these different shows about nascar, GAH...
I did missread that as I was reading about possible release dates and so forth so my mistake. I hope it is released in North America.

As for Speed, I know what you mean. They are so biast at other motorsports. For instance, look at a NASCAR pre-race show in comparison to ALMS pre-show: NASCAR has like a full hour countdown, while the ALMS is left with a ten minute highlight show then race time. Not everyone likes NASCAR, but it seems that we're getting it shoved down our throats every week and this seems to be happening with F1 now as well.

Doesnt matter if they don't release it in the American PS store, you can download it off the European PS store EDIT: or as fookiller mentioned buy the game from europe, unless it's region locked which I'm sure all PS3 games aren't

But in the end I dont know if you can trust the dates or anything IGN says in general. Just a few days ago they said GT5 will have 700+ cars. What is their source? Where are they getting these numbers and dates from?

What about that image saying GT5:P will be released in November? It doesnt mention October or Q1 2008

I'm going to wait for some more solid evidence, like an official transcript of a KY interview before I believe anything anymore

And while we're at, lets blame NASCAR for the reason why GT4P wasn't released in America either

look at the Game Details box on the right :(
Grrr. Well, I heard somewhere that it will be both Blu-Ray and PSN, so if it is on disc then it looks like this will be my first import (unless it's region locked).

I believe that it's not a matter of being against it.

I agree. I'm not against customization being in the game, but this attitude of not having it suddenlty ruins the game and makes it worse than Forza is annoying.

If it plays better, is more fun, and more realistic than Forza 2 does it suddenly make it worse by not having customizations?

To me it seems that you can paint a car all day and make it look like something out of Fast and Furious or whatever you want, but that will not make the main gameplay (driving/racing) any better.

No, but not having it is a lot worse than having it for someone like me. I can spend ages replicating BTCC cars and the like in Forza 2.

On the subject of North Americas GT5:P release, or lack of as it might be, the situation is not a bad one. A, so far IGN is the only source. B, it could just reffer to it not being available on disk, since I believe PD or Sony said GT5:P will be both downloadable, and released on disk. And c, even if it's not avaialbe on the US store or on disk, you can just buy it from the European or Japanese stores instead 💡.

Its not so much that I do not want to do anything paint wise, but that people are making a big deal out it like they're lives depend on it. I have nothing against creativity and if anything, I myself wouldn't mind doing a nice paint scheme(its what I do on NASCAR 2002 all the time).

You might have not seen it(and be greatful you haven't:ill:), but there was one particular person that actually had their car with sexual organs on the hood and side of the car. This was even shown on X-play(though it was censored) so it seems there are just people who can't seem to be(or don't want to be)creative and I think some guys here just don't want to see that.

You have a European or Japanese card I can use?

Credit cards are easy to get and a lot of cards will work all over the world. Both of mine will work in Europe, the US and Asia, most cards these days will.

Time to bring out the infamous pic again

PD is planning to bring custom liveries and much much more to GT5. If this is pic isn't proof I dont know what is. GT5 is going to be a beast of a game

It was a long day for me here in Croatia and for my friends in Leipzig, but they finaly made it :)

Lots main questions answered, sorry we couldn't find out everything we wanted to know. Enjoy.

Great thanx to Ant, Space and Djuro.

I agree that the game doesn't need it to be good, but I'm just saying it can make an already good game so much more appealing and give it a whole extra layer of depth. Though it seems the alst few commetns have it covered and share your view. I would never say GT5 needs it to be good, but I do want it in there.

Which is one example, I agree that most people probably don't want to see that sort of thing, but as I've said it's not a big problem, and people have been banned for it. I'm sure you could look up a few examples if you searched for it, but coming across it as you go about your business and searching for it as two different things. Again, it seems we're in agreement on this, that we don't want to see it in the game.

I understand that and I myself have even said a few times that it would nice to to be able to do that, I just wish people didn't make it out like GT won't ever be good without it

Absolutely and should there be a customization feature, I really hope we don't see that type of stuff. There is line between being creative and just being stupid. Like you, I like seeing paint schemes inspired by legends as well.

I watched incar AUDI R8 footage, and one thing i noticed, speedo on dashboard and electronic one in corner, differs A LOT :) Especially in 200+ km/h zone

I'm not sure if the noise I just heard was my jaw breaking as it hit the floor or if the noise was the hearts of all FM2 fanboys breaking at the same time. :ouch:

Looks interesting... Although, I'm not entirely sure it is for real. I mean, I preffer to be a suprised skeptic than a disappointed believer. 👍

Oh, btw, I saw that video of the Evo racing and it looks great. 👍

It isn't that my Mastercard won't work in Europe, it's if the PSN will allow an American card in the European store. I have yet to hear a confirmation of this, but a lot of sources say it won't.

Which video is this? If it isn't on here do you have a link?

So uhh, on IGN.com they say that Prologue will be Unreleased in US, so I assume that's the case to for canada? WHY?! do they think all of America only likes NASCAR?...
The exact reason given by the US GT Producer, Taku Imasaki, to use his own word, is that SCEA didn't want to "confuse" the retailers and consumers in Region 1.

So, by projection, this must mean that Australians, Japanese and Chinese and even Europeans (anyone except us), won't be confused by being able to purchase a game. Really now...

Cheers,

MasterGT

Hopefully this i just a PR line, but Yamauchi said that he had never played Forza 2, that sounds totally bizarre. I was really hoping GT would try to copy some of Forza's great physics.

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3162297

Why isn't the drivers hands at quarter to three in the videos?

I would think all the Forza fans would be extremely happy, another car sim implementing some of Forza's great features can only be possitive

looking at the in car movies, im curious to know if the games were set to 'Auto transmission.'. i wanted to know how the manual gear changes were played out by the driver model.

Hansiu please try and use the edit button instead of triple posting :)

I don't think we have anything to worry about in the US, while they haven't announced a release date here yet, I think they realize that this time around GT5P will be a much bigger deal than the other prologue, especially with the ability to play online.

I don't under stand how so far the comments in this thread have been 70% negative.

I don't think people are neccessarily being very negative. I do think there are huge hopes riding on this game & people are worried about being disappointed. It's also fascinating to realise that people have quite genuinely different priorities when it comes to what they want.

For the record, my priorities:

1) Driving physics
2) AI
3) Collision physics
4) Graphics
5) Sound
6) Damage
7) Tuning
8) Visual Customization
9) Multiplayer
10) Cockpit view
11) Number of in-game opponents

A lot of these things we now know about: great graphics, cockpit view, number of in-game opponents etc. However, my top 3 are still not entirely clear.

great interview amar. i'm surprised we still didn't have something like 20-30 posts talking about the Q&A.

really nice to see the professional mode. i hope its the best of both worlds: hardcore sim for players like us, while still maintaining basic phisics for casual players in regular mode.

i'm anxious to hear about real time wheather effects. we need this ever since GT1. there's excuse now.

also, more news on community features, like worldwide rankings, permanent rankings, things like that.

but good to know that GT5 is in the right direction.

btw, why so much anger towards a non-us release? i mean, sure, its convinient, but can't we just log in the japanese or european store and buy the game?

can't we?

Happy? No disrespect, but most of the time Forza fans have always dissed GT so I'm not sure that maybe possible, but maybe thats just me. As for copying forza's physics, why does PD need to copy them? GT hasn't had to copy anyone so would it need to now? From what I've seen so far, it looks just fine on its own two feet. Like I said before, GT isn't Forza so I wouldn't expect it to be.

I want to know as well. I have heard that a US credit card won't work in stores from other regions and vice versa. But I have heard others say that they did work.

So, it will come down to not knowing until I try. I would feel better just being handed the game where I can buy it.

Thats why, because its not convenient to have to jump through all the hoops of buying it from a different store! Also because they continue to ignore us by not having it over here!
