what looks to me is a G25, but the wheel turning and the GT5:P turning of the wheels didnt really match.

But i'm sure PD will find a way to compensate that :)

I noticed it too. PD has admited this flaw and they are working on it.(same goes for mirrors)

The hand movement is crucial.

I mean, they can't expect us to believe that we're driving 'the real thing', if they have photorealistic cars with a great in-car view, and have at the same time those two arms doing totally irrealistic movements with skips on the fluidity (is that a word?), crossover, no gear changing(probably due to AT on vids shown),and even more stupid is that sometimes (briefly but it happens), none of the hands is grabbing the wheel! :scared:

Mirrors' reflection do look awful, but it's so bad that I didn't even think twice , since it was so obvious that it was still on development.

As far as the promised weather changes (does that include day/night changes as well?), if it isn't done properly and rigorously in a realistic way, it's no good, since it'll just look stupid.

On the graphic side, only major thing (the others are less important, imo) I'd like to see implemented and haven't seen at all is the cars reflecting eachothers.
Seems to me that cars reflect everything, EXCEPT other cars... :guilty:

After watching all the new videos i noticed the following to my disapointment:

The Chase View -> still looks like an arcade game :grumpy:
The angle of view still seems fixed to the cars movements thats what makes it look like the car is fixed to the screen and movements only apply to the track.
Really AWFUL, and this in a game which utilizes a resolution of 1080p..

I remember my first driving games on a commodore 64 : Chaseview looked identically

New Physics (Pro Mode) -> Maybe more realistic, but no more fun:grumpy:
In most of the vids you can see the drivers going off the track because the car is heavily understeering - mostly they end up last after one single lap.

Ok they will have to get used to the new physics, but:
In computergames you have to estimate your cornering speed visually, because every computergame lacks of the presence of G-forces which in real life gives you an indication for the speed.

And if that visual impression doesnt match the actually max cornering speed given by the physics of the game the driver tends to going too fast around the corner.

I find this in many PC Racing-Games (i.e. GTR, GTR2 etc.) and found that for me it doesnt make fun to play them anymore so i quit.

:indiff:

I agree that the camera needs to be looser, but when did a fixed camera become an arcade game thing. Also, there may be an option to choose the cameras loosness, or it may be changed by the release of the game.

No more fun to you perhaps, but this is something myself and many others have been wanting for a long time. A more realistic driving model. You know what the other driving model is for don't you, people like you who perhaps don't want the professional physics. I love the driving in the games like GTR, RFactor, LFS etc but I didn't enjoy it in GT4. You might find these other games more difficult, or less fun, I find them more natural to work with. If you don't like thoes physics, fine, use the watered down ones, that's your choice. You seem dissapointed, or put off by the fact that the choice is there, that is something I'm struggling to ge tmy head around.

I haven't read the article beofre, but the video was posted yesterday, 👍 on the article though.

new video?

http://babelfish.altavista.com/babe...amage-improved-ai-better-physics-293208.php

This was posted a couple of pages back but alot of people missed this great video and othe new info because of all the spam about paint shop. Everyone should see that video. It should be in the first post.

Anyway a mod can go through the last few pages of this thread and move all the paint shop posts to the new 'your feelings on paintshop' thread

As for your article from kotaku about GT5:P featuring damage I dunno...I'm pretty sure kotaku got it mixed up. GT5 will feature damage at some point, but not in GT5:P. I'm pretty sure he would have mentioned that in the first long video interview.

Thanks for this vid http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24082.html Raitziger. The Ferrari sounds pretty good from what I could hear. Now as long as all of them don't sound exactly the same we'll be set 👍

No damage for GT5: prologue, period. Kotaku is talking nonsense.

PD is working on damage in some ways, and Kaz said that both to Q&A that my friends had with him - which adresses more important things that those two guys in video asked (what a waste of prescious time with Kaz in Europe, my dear God...) - and it also can be head clearly in jeuxfrance video.

Notice that both damage and waether effects are in the same category - "Being work on, have to find out way to implement in the future". Will we see it in GT5:P - I woouldn't place my money on it. If yes - then we're into big surprise for sure.

There is no damage, no weather changes and no decals :D in GT series in near future. TGS is in 30 days from now, and game release is 60 days from now. Demo showed in Leipzig is around 3 months old, so there are probably some aspects we didn't see in this build - driver animation, movable camera when driving inside the coockpit and online chat integration - if I can predict well. But damage - I really guess not.

Also, Gamespot has this sentence in their GT coverage : "The game is due for release on the PlayStation Network as a free download later this year." Free? Nice idea, but somehow I don't think so. Since thay're allso missinterpreted the whole "TV" part, I can fairly assume they just didn't listen well.

@Earth - video is in the first post from yesterday, probably you didn't notice - and I agree with your plea to mods regarding "GT Barbie-Shop".

is that video on youtube because the loading is terrible?

I muted my sound and walked away from the computer for a half an hour. By the time I got back the entire video had loaded and was watchable start to finish. The load/watch/chop was driving me crazy!

More proof on improved sound. Ferrari V8 sounds good.
Indeed. I've already seen on IGN's board, a Forza fanboy claim it sounded like a vaccuum cleaner. I asked if he'd ever been in a Ferrari at 60Mph. He said, "I've seen a Ferrari, yeah!" No...have you been IN one at 60Mph. "No." Then shut cho mouth!

Damage has been confirmed for Prologue, it doesn't say anything about that in the first post.

That won't mean anything until folks see it.

 My Dad has been in a Ferrari 550 he said the only thing wrong with the sound on the game was there was no gear box clunk like he had. But I did explain that this car was different and had a paddle gear box and wasn't even the same car.

Compare this GT5 Ferrari F430 onboard with the real thing

I tried running the real video's sound and muting the GT5 video and its hard to tell a difference. From what I heard GT5 has the sound very close. The real F430 sound is a just bit deeper but other than that 👍

Well, the problem with the GT5 video is that you have a lot of background noise, and a low-volumed TV. If the TV was allowed to be turned way up, and didn't have music and folks in the background, it'd be much easier to tell how close the sound is.

But for now, we can at least hear the F430 V8 and know it's pretty good.

We've seen only two next-gen race cars: the Toyota Celica Rally (ST105(?)) Car and the Motul Pitwork Z. I'm sure more will follow once PD brings 'em on. We could see any sort of racing machines ranging from (be hopeful) Racing Modifications to F1 cars. I'd even want to see a few more Super GT machines. I think we'll probably see a lot more race cars in the future. .

Just so you know theyve already displayed a GT5 model of the 1999 Subaru World Rally Team Impreza WRX STi Version VI WRC and the 2006 (Lexus) Bandai Dunlop SC430 from Super GT. A Motul Pitwork Z was never shown that is the Xanavi Nismo Z. Now back to lurking for me

Very detailed engine sound. Its close enough to say that GT5:P sounds great. I wonder if JohnBM01 would enjoy racing against 15 other Ferraris with engine sound that real. I know I would! Now if only there was Porsche...

Great driving there on that video. 👍

If only GT5 hands moved like that on the screen...

where's that track? It'd be awesome if it was on the game, prologue or GT5. Especially because it'll have real drift embedded.

On the sound, as stated above, can't really tell how close it is because of various limitations. BUT it does sound prety good (much better than in GT4, where the only road car with sounded close to a V8 was the Cizeta V16...).

yea i wouldn't mind either. is the f40 the only ferrari confirmed in GT5:P
I think you mean the F430, but so far thats the only car we've seen, but again this is only prologue. By GT5, they'll probably bring back the 599 GTB from GTHD and add more as they did say when they first announced ferrari,"Introducing Ferrari GT Cars" so who knows?

Nah, one's enough.

On the 'babelfish' vid, there's a few things there that may indicate this game will have a lot more stuff than some would anticipate, meaning probably were only expected for GT5 itself.

For instance, why would a world map with info on the weather on different parts of the world be on GT5:P if not to have already some weather effects (or at least day/night)?

Also, it does have a 'album' icon, which he says it's for storing pics and vids you take or save on the game, plus adding "...I think maybe you do remember from GT4, photomode...".
The way I see it, there's little doubt it will have a photomode of it's own.

i'm still curious about the mypage. I.E. if you were to put washington as your home. would it show things in washington such as the white house.

Just because. It helps to add a greater sense of community among international players, and gives the game a grander, international feeling. It also fills up the screen, adding an aesthetic value.

Other than that, the practical reason would be that Gt5's tracks will have live up-to-date weather, and thats just too good to be true. Day/night sounds possible though..

Heres to dreaming

wow, that would be awesome. imagine driving down the long front stretch at fuji, it being sunny but as you look in the distance in the distance is heavy, dark clouds and out of control lightning.

But yeah, just a dream.

The thing I'm curious (and wouldn't be surprised) is just how many Ferraris Polyphony plans to get. I'm not expecting anything from the past like the F40, but I'd like to hope we get more than a F430 and a 599GTB.

I want my Ferrari 330 P3! In Belgian Yellow, like on Victory by Design!

Forza 2 has the P4, so GT5 SHOULD have the P3, right? LOL A 512S would be nice too.
