Why start a GT4 & TCR series, to then phase out the struggling GT4 class? Makes no sense.

Says “TCR is the perfect product” while attempting to fracture the Australian scene before it has even begun.

Perhaps Salmon should’ve waited a few years to create a class for older machinery, akin to the Australian GT Trophy.
And here I was praising the guy for starting a sensible Production Car Series

I’d rather see them at Bathurst for the 12hr :indiff:
There's still the one in the country. At least that one could run in the 12H. Haven't read any further announcements on who the buyer is and what they plan to do with it.

The Continental (old sponsor) series usually has some of the most competitive/entertaining racing, especially on they're budgets.
A couple shots from the weekend at Watkins Glen, where the race in that video above was.

That series upped the liveries from years ago. 👍
Lots of old WC/TC liveries were questionable. Couldn't understand how most Japanese and European liveries looked so professional and USA liveries looked low rent.

Well, if they looked like the first concept renders, may have engaged the fans better.

Still think that would have been a more natural progression for the series but then I guess that costs might have been a concern. At the moment I don't find the racing terribly interesting. I'll start paying more attention once they get around 15-20 utes on the grid.

Crazy.

$200k to build & $25k per round
They’ve gotta be outta their tree! :odd:

I need to see a cost breakdown to believe those numbers cause that just doesn’t make sense.
Especially the $25k per round.
Where does that $25k go?

One thing is for sure, it’s already doomed if they don’t do something about those numbers.
Imagine going to a prospective sponsor & telling them these are the running costs for the coverage they get AND the backlash that comes with it from the punters on social media.

Lunacy.

Not sure if this is the correct thread for this, but Paul Tracy is going to drive one of those MARC Cars in the Bathurst 12 Hour

Usually, in the GT thread, but I won't rat you out. ;)

Should be interesting.

Don't know if anyone posted(maybe in the Touring Car thread), but commentators just mentioned BMW knocking back MINI TCRs, may be due to a posssible 1 series TCR. Probably 6-8 months away from an announcement.

Honestly I've never been overly big on Advan liveries but man, that looks fantastic. Here's hoping that we get a couple of Corolla's on the TCR Australia grid in the near future.

With Corolla being top passenger car, would be a damn shame if no one raced it here.

If they can make a Corolla not look like a ball of boiled ass...that's well done. The Advan livery is superb on it. White wheels also, hnnngh.
