Internet connection (preferably fast speed)....and a PSN account.... is necessary to download and install patches as they are made available. Not advisable to play the game without installing the patches as the patches are released to address/fix prior issues.

Thank you, you saved my coworker a bit of cash

A little collection of UI issues for SMS

I can read "BEST LAP DELTA". The numbers? Not so easy when driving

Where did BMW V12 LMR come from? Never driven it! I'm using the Ginetta Junior! And I have only been on Texas Speedway once, weeks ago!

There's my guy, "Behring Euler" in 3rd place. However, he got the top seat on the podium due to Replay glitch. Pity the glitch didn't give him the extra points

I'd like to scroll the "DRIVER ROSTER", but my wheel doesn't have the requested "Right stalk". Does yours?

That map is so devoid of contrast as to be mostly useless

Does this mean you cant play the game (at least initially) without an internet connection? I know a coworker who is looking to purchase the game but he doesn't have an internet connection
I was playing and trying out various cars/tracks while downloading the patch. One thing I noticed from that was how SMS altered the controller steering settings (the maximum setting for Controller Damping was drastically increased). Not sure why it didn't work for you.

From the disc it's a fine game for hotlapping and casual racing in solo mode, as it is currently, but of course the setup-related issues and ice/snow physics throw a wrench into adjusting cars or playing the career mode.

If you join an online race at the end of qualifying, but just too late...in essence between end of qualifying and the race start. You'll start the race in spectator mode which is fine....issue is that your stats will record it as a race start but not a completed race

I've also encountered this issue on PS4. I figure it's my fault for trying to jump in a race at the last second, but certainly don't feel we should have to watch the entire race or suffer a penalty to your license.

I guess so but it is the result of me not even wanting to qualify as from my experience online racing is a much more enjoyable experience starting from the back of the grid.

I now see I placed this in the patch thread so let's repost it in the propper thread (sorry mods).
In career
I started the practice finished the qually exited as bedtime was there.

Next day go online to race. When I want to finish my career race after that I see it skipped the previous race. No racers got points I got 1point from fastest qually I allready completed.

I've encountered the bug multiple times by now. Yet I have not actively tried to reproduce it.

Is it a known bug? Was this reported allready?

From the Pcars twitter "Hi Craig, I can assure you there's a massive patch coming real-REAL soon addressing a myriad of issues on console."

I realy hope real real soon means it with sony if not I have a diffrent defenition of soon. Soon means tonight. And if you disagree with me please explain that to my boss.

I'm getting more and more fed up with all the bugs. I'm having tons of fun but having something ruined for the 100th time by the same bug is getting so infuriating it will not take long or my ps4 is going to suffer a massive crash because of this game. One of a boot with a steel tip followed up by a drop from floor 2 with quite some initial speed.

Ahah for my german boss soon is yesterday.

Not sure if this is new or not, but here's a pretty major bug at Sugo. The second to last corner, if you run wide on entry, you go through a time warp sort of. I've had this happen in multiple cars, across multiple sessions, but in the exact same spot.

On this lap, I didn't run as wide, but could still feel a small moment where the game skipped ahead a couple frames or something

And unrelated, here's me getting stuck in the pits trying to leave. I have full control of the car, but the mechanic won't let me leave the garage, like he's waiting for another car in the lane to pass by.

Me and Buddies had that same time warp as well. It felt totally insane the first few Times and i avoid Sugo right now cause of this.

On another topic.

My CAREER SAVE has DISAPPEARED.
Just when i began Formula X and finish Monaco against the terrible start AI

Anyone else have that Bug? Everything else still exists in my savefile.

This used to happen on Pcars 1 on certain tracks. I believe Dubai Kartdrome had a corner where this happened, and it was never fixed.

Just done a 12 Lap race at Oulton...8 Laps it starts raining quickly followed by a storm so jump into pits and they put slick tyres on in the middle of a storm...15 minutes racing completely ruined

Posting here to get Ian Bell's attention.
Some good updates but the HUD still does not work properly, there are no improvements in the graphics (still grainy: AA issue?) and Monza Classic combination does not allow track-side camera in replay mode. Also IndyCars at Long Beach set-up save has issues in "save as" mode (functionality is not smooth but at least the set-ups save now).

Same thing happened to me in an online race.

Joined the lobby, 20 minute race, forecast says cloudy --> cloudy.

12 min into the race, the heavens open up, raining cats and dogs. I haven't figured out how to navigate the stupid mid-race dpad menu thing, so setting a new pit strategy, while lapping Leguna seca in the wet on slicks.

So I put, hoping that maybe, just maybe the goofs on the pitwall can detect the weather....leave the pits on soft slicks. Complete waste of about 40 minutes of gameplay time.

@IanBell Mate, amazing stuff jumping on this guy's channel . Quite sincere and honest replies given... Nice attitude!

Just a quick question: Is the AI qualy vs race pace being handled / have any bug reports registered? PC2 is amazing. This is one of the small things that are ****ing up the experience a bit!
Cheers!

yes its a known bug, nearly every Xbox get this after a time, some earlier some later... i got my career deleted after 15 hours :(
I hope patch 2.0 will fix this if it is online for xbox.

I can't save my setups and get the error that I can't use insulting words when naming it. For example I use "488 GTE" or "Xbow GT4".

Pit stop pressures set to themselves to random pressures every time you leave a session.

Tires started at 2.00 bar!!!! in a GT3 race at Road America. I checked the setup during the ready to race screen and they were set to 1.40. The pressures dropped in the race...

Bug Report:

I can no longer force the Default Setups to work in Time Trial Mode. I can load the Default Setups just fine, but if you record a time on the Leaderboard, it will appear as a Custom Setup.

For reference, I set the #1 time for the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 at Long Beach using the Default Loose Setup.

I'm going to post this again and hope it goes somewhere. GT3 cars feel very different in the race than any other session. This is with identical track conditions other than the amount of rubber on track which is an unknown. I don't know if rubber transfers from practice and qualifying to the race. The other unknown is car setup. It has been acknowledged that there are issues with loading setups. Whether the different feel and pace in the race is related to that is also unknown. Something doesn't add up with what is happening.

Not cool. That means I need a lot of practice on that track. :)

The new online lobby tab disappears when you leave the pits and doesn't appear again.

Edit: Also tires are starting at incorrect pressures for the race. This didn't happen with the old patch.

To add to this I've spoken to others from the same race and their setups didn't load correctly either in the race. Some people started with 11L of fuel for a 19 lap race. This is a major problem for leagues. PS4 if it matters.

I think starting leagues before, i would say december, is a bad idea.
