I should try it but I read so many bad comments on how hard PC is with a pad.
Yes, at release. Now very playable on PS4 DS4 controller for me. It was a pain in the 🤬 to get to the DS4 settings that felt like GT/Forza. But all that testing is done, and you can find settings posted on GTP.
I never got the steering to behave the way it does in a game like GT/FM/EPR, but the settings I've ended up with are definitely very playable and plenty comfortable for endurance events. đź‘Ť

I think it should be pointed out that if you are the type of player to "tap steer" instead of tilting the analog stick in smaller increments, you may have to adapt to play PCARS effectively. The steering is more direct than a typical console racing game, and from my experimentation, excess dampening tends to make the steering too slow to keep up with the action.

Found build notes (In Polish translated to English using Google Translate.

Build 0182
render:

* Fix for save jpeg is a memory for PC.
* Tweaks to cockpit HDR values for better internal / external balancing
* Checked in the modified tree shaders for backup, added the single-sided versions too.
GUI:
* Workshop and Highlights tabs added to DriverNetworkProfile, and first pass of new UX flow using the Options and Filter dialogs.
* Race engineer improvements: 1.) Fixed tire-wear not getting tires Replaced, and it stopped scheduling pitstops in the last few laps of the race. 2) Improved data-drivability of gap is a leader speech and added utility functions for dealing with thresholds. 3.) More cleaning up of the PitEngineer interface.
Cameras / Replays:
* Fixed compile issue for const access to sample buffer critical.
* Phoen-1868: Added support for code lap-to-lap control of the replay (local) cameras. Note: the two commented out in FindBestCamera assert should be enabled after the viewerl is updated.
Characters / Animations:
* Use correct participant ID for wheel locators. Bit of a tidy up of script code animations.
* Fix for Phoen-3970: Wheel mechanic R 02: shortened to "get ready" animation from 5,3s down to 2.3 s
Career:
* Removed disabled test code from CareerMotorsportTeams
* Replaced legacy BString use in CareerContract and CareerInvitation usage with hashes. Phoen-1477
Physics:
* Tires: Testing a new grip mix with more rip and less adhesive. See physics releases thread for affected cars / tires.
* KTM X-Bow R: Quick review of physics. Tweaked the turbo spooling and fixed a small offset in the steering axis relative to CAD reference, reduced side aero lift
Vehicles:
* Re-exported collision meshes for Bentley cars
Support Physics:
* Introduced automatic grid step calculations into DT patch generation logic
Tracks:
* LeMans Classic: Added txt for 19 underpass

Known Issues:
- Some broken strings in the GUI
- Test track, the car will not move (only in race mode)
- Avoid driving at night, headlights and spotlights are missing or not working as expected (on-going rework)
- Tires are consumed like if they were chocolate, use Slow tire wear or OFF for now.
- Trees might Appear black or with other issues
- When pitting in the popup screen will take the control of your hands once you close it you can keep on driving (manual pit in currently disabled until this is fixed)
- Some cars have rims more than they should and one of them disappears at high speeds. (Needs some render code)
- Exit confirmation dialogue is not working, you need to force close on the game to exit.

Le Mans Classic
KTM X-Bow R
Bentley
Manual Pitstops?
Animated Pitstops again

Hi guys, I learnt about PCARS 2 quite some time ago, but I wasn't too interested in it, due to various reasons. I read the previous page and searched on Google to look for answers, albeit in vain. So I'm here to ask you some questions I have in my mind:
  • Is the amount of content for tarmac track racing in PCARS 2 going to remain the same as the 1st instalment, or are other forms of racing, such as rallying and hillclimbs, going to play a bigger role?
  • What does lod X cars mean? I've read something like that on this thread which says such cars are not going to be featured in PCARS 2. And has it been confirmed that which cars will stay, and which will go?
  • Did SMS make any promise that the full game will have a lot fewer bugs than when PCARS 1 is released? I'm asking this, as I read a lot of comments that says the bugs in PCARS 1 made it almost unplayable.
  • Is the game going to feature adjustable steering ratio for all cars? I'm not sure if PCARS 1 have it, as I didn't buy it. I do have a G29 though, and being unable to adjust the steering ratio is one of the factors that made playing GT5 less comfortable.
I think that's about all for now. Thanks for reading. :)

  • Tarmac is still going to be the main form of racing from what I see, the only off road racing available is rallcross. There are no hill climb or standard rally so far.
  • Lod X are the highest quality model in game, a bit like the Forza Autovista models. Lod X is used in the menus and on PC when car detail is set to "Ultra", consoles only uses lod x in the menu screen and lod A for in game.
  • Ian Bell did mention that is the plan, I remember he did mention there will be a proper QA testing on the consoles this time.
  • I'm not sure on this, I think steering ratio is different for every car back in pCARS 1.

Which cars have a lod X model though, if I'm allowed to know? And do cars without a lod X model need to go completely, or will they be upgraded to lod X standards? It'd be interesting to know which cars will be gone in PCARS 2.

Thanks for the reply BTW. đź‘Ť

Most that went away will get replacement, I think the only car that got upgraded to the new standard is the M3 GT4.

A few cars that lacks Lod X was both version of Mclaren 12C and R8. The BMW M3 GT2 doesn't have Lod X either.

If true, I can live with rallycross. I'm in the don't-add-rally-to-pCARS2-when-there-are-still-improvement-opportunities-from-pCARS1 crowd.

I'm hoping someone on WMD2 site can help me out with some information (as in PM to avoid sharing it publically)

New GT1Xs?
New LMP1/P2s?
New GT3s?

Cheers!

I'd love to see this information too. All we've got so far is from general snooping.

Because that was almost a year ago, I'm curious to see if that's still the target.
It probably is still the target. We haven't heard anything to suggest not.

Oh yeah sure, let's PM everyone asking for confidential info, it's totally not like sharing it publically.

I don't expect anything to happen from it. I just outlined if anyone was willing to share screenshots privately, i'm not going to say no.

By the way, reformatted the first post to change to an appearance of car/track list.

If you wanted info earlier than anyone else you just had to become a member. Now, SMS is trusting us to not leak any info, so I won't do it in any case. You should wait for official info like everyone else.

And I am. I'm not forcing you to do it or anything like that and i'm not even expecting anyone to do it.

Yeah because I'm a rat who's going to blast whatever information I get all over the internet aye.....

I missed out on the buy in for pCARS2 and I was a member of the original pCARS development. If no one wants to say a word that's totally fine, just asking a question.

Most classes will be expanded and seeing how famous GT3 nowadays, it will be weird to not have any new ones for that class.
I think we can all say with certainty that every single race sim on the market (be it R3E, AC, iRacing, pCARS 2, Forza 7 or GTS) has some new GT3 cars always in the pipeline. Don't worry on that front.

There will Gran Turismo Sport and potentially Forza Motorsport 7 (if FM keeps the 2-year cycle) in 2017. I do not think Project Cars 2 will be released the same year.
Which are both single console releases so really it's just one other multi-console game in that sense.

I believe FM7 will also be on PC.
Even if GTS and FM7 release in 2017, I'm still hoping PCARS2 will also be released.
