Drive around the track backwards in an online race and see how much abuse you can muster before being kicked?

Just kidding. Don't do that. :sly:

Well, if that happens online. One will soon learn their lesson other than being kicked by driving the wrong way.

I refer you to the John Cleese video I posted earlier...

I think I've discovered one confusion point reason. Local sellers (including Steam) can apply discounts as they see fit. I think it's this and other discounts that are making the costings look odd.

I'll say this though, 29 dollars for what we plan to ship over the next year is insanely cheap. These are high cost and top marque DLC's.

I'm greatly looking forward to pCARS 2, especially with all the VR improvements that have been reported. I'll probably be living in this game for at least the next year. There's little doubt that the DLC will be terrific value (based on the first game) but I still think I'll buy the vanilla version and cherry-pick the DLC. I've bought season pases before, sight unseen, and always seem to have buyer's remorse for one reason or another. I'm kind of against season passes on principle now. I'm happy to support deserving devs via DLC and fully understand that it's often an important revenue and cash-flow stream as part of the modern gaming business model, but I want to know exactly what I'm buying in advance now. I don't think I'd be disappointed about upcoming content for pCARS 2 but without knowing what cars and tracks the pass contains (I'm guessing Estoril is in there somewhere?) then it's a hard button to press. I might already loathe those cars or tracks from other sims. Crikey, I tend to race GT cars on the same handful of tracks over and over again, so maybe I'm just a creature of habit. And it's not like the vanilla game is lacking in content..! :P

XXI
Hockenheim Classic
Alpine A450
3laps/4 weather slots in this order...
Clear
Fog
Heavy Fog
Clear
Weather progression 15

The way the fog rolls in on this fast course with long straights is incredible.
I enjoy running the open top Alpine for the view, downforce and speed.
Run it alone in practice.

LMP2... 3 laps?

does not compute. if you said 3H though... :D

Since, I jumped into VR in early August. I cannot see playing the game without VR. I still don't think there is a youtube video that captures the complete immersion view from the headset.

In my opinion the game looks so good, so rich of content and matching fans requests that the only thing i feel to do is to thank the developers and preorder the game.

It feels strange to have so much pages of requests and debate in front of such a product. I just hope It will work fine from day1 and offer a simpler interface for wheel users. I struggled a lot at the start with pcars1.

PS:sorry for any mistake but the t9 keeps shifting english into italian.

@Masscot
On my 1080 I can get it to run without issues at dawn/dusk from dry to wet to dry and also rain at night with the following settings:

| Performance - Aniso: 16x | MSAA: Medium| SS: 1.4| Vsync: Off | Grass: Low | Envmap/Reflections/Shadows: Low/medium/medium | Car/Track: High | Blur: Off | E. Mirrors: Yes

Looks beautiful if you ask me and no performance issues on my VIVE.

And I have to say that this is with 23AI on track multiclass lmp1/p2/GTE ;)

If this is not good, I have to say nothing is, not whilst looking like I see it (trust me on this one)

/edit
ESTORIL? WHERE?. It's in my .sig at WMD since pC1 IIRC and I don't even read one letter pointing that way!

It IS my home track so you can imagine how much I want it :D

Buy the season pass mate. You have my word it's worth it.

I really believe in that, sometimes is hard to make the decision but PC2 is something what deserve attention in my opinion the best one ever made. There is lot of space to make this game via DLC ( if it is game ) for any racer dreams comes thrue. I really hope will see there more vintage f1 cars specially from 80"s and "90s. and some tracks too like Estoril, Magny course, Grobnik maybe. Anyway we"ll have a bright future with PC2. Just buyed a deluxe version for ps4 and release say is on my son birthay:cheers: Countdown start !!!

Don't we already know what the season pass will contain? (that's what I heard)

Driveclub did very well here with the DLC roadmap. You knew what you're getting into from the start.

All we know, is there will be 8 cars and 1 track, in each of the 4 season passes.

We know minimum numbers but no actual content yet.

Minimum of 4 DLCs, each containing 8 cars and 1 track.

I say minimum because SMS could always surprise us and decide to give a bit more, but this is what they have already committed to.

Oh, got it. Is there a planned release for these, like this?

To be fair, I'm against pre-ordering unseen content. The only times I remember when a season pass was worth it, was DC and Uncharted 4.

Not going to even start about the pre-order exclusive bonus. /sigh

Ian mentioned, we will get teasers prior to the Season Pass releases. He also mentioned months ago, DLC content will be heavy, but not monthly. Other than that, I have no idea what that will look like, for consumer knowledge.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective. For me, I'm not concerned about the quality of the content given what SMS have given us in the last game (both base and DLC) and looking at what the upcoming title will offer.

I look at it more from quantity vs. cost. A minimum of 32 new cars and 4 more tracks for a mere $30 is a bargain in my mind. That's $0.86 per item! That same $30 spent in iRacing would get me 2 cars, or 2 tracks, or 1 car and 1 track.

I know there will be something in there I will enjoy and use. Even if I only use 50%, in my opinion it is still a bargain.

We don't know if one or more of those tracks will be an ice circuit or rallycross track, neither of which really appeals to me. Probably unlikely I guess, but that's the risk you take sight unseen with no indication to the contrary. Ditto with the cars - one of the packs might just be rallycross cars. If pCARS 2 was purely a tarmac racer then I'd probably buy the season pass because there'd be a good chance of me liking the content, but there are other disciplines to consider now. Crikey, it's just occurred to me - they might all be karting circuits..!

Since this topic has started to focus on one topic instead of being a general discussion I will make a new topic for you guys to discuss this stuff. It will be called Project Cars 2 Pre-Order/DLC Discussion.

Like I said.... all a matter of personal perspective. For me, if 1 of the 4 DLCs is something I have 0 interest in, then it's not a big deal because it's only 25% of the total content. Since we don't know individual DLC pricing yet either, it's a pretty good chance that I will still be ahead in terms of money spent.

I can't see the individual DLCs begin priced at a point where the total cost of individual DLCs is the same or less than the $30 spent on Season Pass. That would mean $7.50 or less per DLC, which I find to be very unlikely. More likely they will be $10 each or more based on the last titles pricing. At that price, even if I don't like one of the DLCs and never use it, I am at break even price.

For me, the Season Pass is a lower risk option. Even if 50% of the DLC content is something I don't really have interest in, I am still probably equal to individual purchase.

In my case, I also have to consider that I am leading a league, which means I need to be able to support all content whether I personally like it or not for online events. That adds another layer into the consideration......

EDIT: Mods, please move to the new thread as indicated by @DesertPenguin09 above. Thanks.

Second EDIT: I just learned that Individual DLCs will be priced at $9.99 USD. So that means that the Season Pass is 4 for the price of 3.

Only discussions regarding KNOWN (or specifics) atributes/contents of DLC's, passes, etc... would, imo belong into separated thread!

Seeing how LACK of most of details has directed us towards discussing and speculating about it - it does truly belong here in General thread until anything MORE specific to discuss.
