Big giant post about tyre modelling.

@IanBell about those tire flat spots, will we see them like when driving an open wheeler? You get those strobe like effects when there's a dark flat spot or when the tire is evenly wearing in one spot you get that darker stripe.

Jeez. I just had a look at that picture. Almost thought it was real. Only thing was the thread it's in. :P

Those clouds look ominous.

Fully enjoy PC1 and part 2 is looking like the most complete racing game yet. I do have a few questions;

1. Will we be able to choose the cars we race against? Who knows, I would like to create a race with like 4 c7.r gte's, maybe a porsche thrown in and a few ford gtlms. I'd like to pick and setup my own field of cars essentially.

2. Will there be a track creator? Always wanted to make my own track and race on it.

3. Is there an exact number set for car and track roster yet? 175 cars and 62 tracks would be a rough guess for me.

4. And lastly will there be drag strips?

IIRC no specific car selection, only vehicle classes, of which there are 30, with the possibility of a few single-make classes. You can use 4 classes for an event, and the game will track the car positions in each class separately, so you are only racing your class.

170 cars, 60 tracks at day 1 seems to be the official number. The_American did say we can expect over 200 cars with DLCs eventually.

I'm definitely not making the same mistake I made with pCARS1 and will get the premium version this time around. By the sounds of things this is the one game that deserves the extra money getting the premium edition. It's been a while that I've heard developers really go to these lengths to get every minor detail right.

Will it be perfect? No...but hell I can't wait!

There was no premium edition and no car pass. A so called premium was the GOTY Edition, that came out after 1 year, including all DLCs and enhancements.

you're right. Forgot that standard version with mini DLC. But that had nothing todo with PREMIUM.

Well, the steelbook was nice and the behind the scenes book was top quality too IMO.
I'm not talking about the digital version of the game...

I've seen much worse "Collector's Editions" TBH.

Questions about liveries for PCARS 2 :

In Pcars1 I noticed that custom livery for livery player was in 1024x1024 :
so i think that all ingame resolution for livery player in pcars1 and Pcars 2 was/are in 1024x1024.
for Pcars1, some player had made a pack "HQ Liveries Project CARS" in 2048x2048.
HQ Liveries Project CARS - High Resolution Livery Textures for all models from Project CARS.

1 - in Pcars2, Is it possible to have high quality for custom player livery in 2048x2048 and all in game livery player in 2048x2048, instead of 1024x1024, in default.

remember this information in Pcars official Forum :

2 - in Pcars2, Is it a technical problem to have all custom livery player and ingame livery player in this format 2048x2048, and wheel liveries in 1024x1024 ?

3 - in Pcars2, Is it possible to have 2048x2048 format for custom online AI livery and ingame online AI livery ?
=> i have 4096x4096 format online in dedicated server...So, i think no. works with gtx 660m.

4 - finally, in Pcars2, what will be the format of all ingame liveries ? ingame livery player, ingame AI livery player, ingame wheel livery, custom livery player.

in Pcars1, i made 4096x4096 for livery player and 1024x1024 for wheel, and it was ok.

Bigger is better, bigger is beautiful 👍;)

thanks for answers.

thats on the PC side. This resolutions ar the standard requierements, that are used internal für all original liveries and parts.
In our leage we drive with livery mod for all cars with 2048x3072 for Player and AI = online players.
Higher resolutions are dependend to better GPUs with more memory.
4096x3072 also works, but that resolution i use for screenshots only.
