A bashing party? People are partaking in discussion about a huge piece of news regarding the WMD and pCARS series, why shouldn't people post and let their thoughts be heard, especially those who purchased the first game in the series?

It's not like pCARS has a god-given right to not be scrutinized like GT/Forza/anything is on the internet.
Also, I am playing other games right now as well as posting. Pretty sure others can do the same!
Not talking about you. I'm talking about a few people who haven't been to these forums (either at all or in a long while) and just came over to this thread. It's fine to discuss and criticize, just not sure why, if "you" don't plan to buy/play the game. Just a waste of time. But I guess it's my opinion.

Sounds perfectly sensible to me (a layman), seems it would be "easier" in all aspects and for all parties.

I'd much prefer a Project Cars Motorsport Hub that is continually updated and added to, but a sequel is the way they are going, so we'll just have to sit back and see!

Strictly speaking, they're not payed to upgrade their game, because that would most certainly require som kind of subscription system (or a free-to-play system with regular microtransactions). And since they can't ask you to pay twice for the same game, making a sequel is probably the best solution.

Yep, for a nice dinner with Mr Ian Bell, the Ban Hammer Master, a nice luxurious hotel and a Ferrari 458 Spider rent a car. For game related, some nifty stuff made for you ( race team, race suit, etc ) for use in game. Worth 10,000 pounds ?, depends on your financial priorities.

 Read this thread, in a few hours, quite a few got banned by Ian, good entertainment to read even if I don't own Pcars.

This shows how their "community" is broken. They only care about our money and their success. They will never see the colour of my money this way.

So much so that hes threatening to close down the forums because of the supposed backlash.

Stuff like that makes me glad GTP exists as neutral ground. It says a lot when the head of a studio is banning people that don't seem to be all that aggressive, rather just disagreeing with how they're doing things. Either he can't stand to see his baby getting flak or there was pure crap that had already been deleted.

Probably asked and answered already, but it seems there'd maybe be page after page of mostly people going off half-cocked to sift through. How long will sign up be open for?

Based on my experience with this game, I probably wouldn't buy a sequel. I'm not bashing it, I'm just being honest. Not enough there for a casual gamer like me (even though I'm quite fast and like the engineering aspect more than anything). The online experience is filled with morons and there are no consequences for stupidity. You don't even have control over the room that you host. It's entirely democratic, and, as we all know, democracy is terrible. I'm also sick and tired of GT3. They should have just called the game Project GT3. The game is still buggy and laggy. Livery editing is hard as fake tits, and you can only assign one per car.

I'm pretty sure that the bugs and the democracy are the games biggest downfalls. Nobody even knows how to use the menus. Vote to Skip is useless. If you're going to make a racing game, you need to have someone that's able to act as Race Control. Kick the afks, the griefers, and punish the overzealous. What kind of racing game makes you spend AN HOUR at free practice, then you quit after you're suddenly without a wheel or two after the destruction derby at the first corner? Ridiculous.

PCARS 2? Cool, maybe they can actually finish the game this time. Almost 7 years with the same engine, still can't make it work properly.

I had no idea that's how bad online was... wow. Remind me to stick with GTP guys if I ever go on... And I'll have interest in pCARS 2 as soon as the AI racers are affected by the same track and car conditions you are (rain and tire temps), which is laughable to have broken in a racing game.

I get the impression this will be a more rally focus game which I think is mint. I love project cars and if they can make it as good with a more rally type focus then I'm in.

I am so happy about this! My PC could never run it so I'm not going to bother signing up but will keep an eye on this! Also, one thing some people may have missed in the announcement.

Course maker for PCars 2?
It might be referring to the test track or variations of it. It was a huge track with many alternate paths all inside of a gigantic banked oval that was never fully completed and never made it into the game.
Or you could check out this thread http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22928-Terrible-SLI-GPU-usage Where the PC lead Developer is interacting which a group of users who are having SLi Usage issues with certain cards, even posting on a sunday night, asking them to try different settings so he can try and get to the bottom of their problems. But hey, you know, whatever floats your boat.

That forum is like every other act in an abusive or unhelpful manner and you get banned. Exactly how it should be.
Agreed. Interesting to note that much or most of the behaviour on the PCars Forum would probably get you banned here as well but I guess it's not fun to mention that either:sly:

Someone needs to create "The Great Project Cars 2 Whinging and Crying Thread" - this one is for those who want to have fun :D
It's on my to do list as soon as the Forum Opens:lol:

No thanks lol.

But good luck to them to make a proper game on PS4. Patch 1.4 they did make improvements though. Hearing all this news on Pcars 2 I wonder if people are going refrain themselves from buying Pcars now and simply wait for Pcars2. Not a good idea at all to announce the new game and ask for support via money, membership already.

I may consider to be a member for Pcars3 which I guess will be open sometime in 2017, surely after a month or 2 from Pcars2 :odd: It depends on lots of factors. I am not going to build a PC or interested in alpha, beta version. Better to play other games instead. People will anyway buy the game if it is good. I hope this is not the direction future games are taking :nervous:

I think the problem is that they haven't figured out how to deal with unsatisfied customers. They need to allow people to vent some steam.

What they really need is an epic whining and crying thread

I feel pretty angry about the PCars2 announcement.

I bough the game from preorder, and here was 60+ EURO, then after 2 months it's on steam sale at 30Dollars. I got a t300 to enjoy it at the fullest. It had INSANE advertising from users here and shipped crammed with bugs because early users/beta testers were too focused making vids of it and avoiding playing career (no to spoil for when it would be released) to notice the AI grip bugs, pit stop bugs etc etc... It has many game breaking bugs. Some like flat tires, or red tires after pits, setups not saving, ffb getting all weird for no reason... >_>

They had a lot of faith placed in them, they got lots of money from community, they had great advertising and sales even with all the bugs.

I expected a VERY LONG lifetime for this game as a way to repay all that bought and supported the game and are still clinging to it even with all the bugs and issues.

As someone said there's a great game hidden somewhere. Announcing PCars 2 after 2 months is a massive kick in you know what.

Sure they say they'll keep supporting PCars1, but let's be honest i think no-one expected such a move, so soon at current state of things.

If i'll go PCars2 i'm sure as hell i won't preorder or get it fullprice. And i'll wait a fair bit of time learning about it. I won't be sold by the backer that advertized the "greatness" here on gtp anymore.

If they kept quiet, fixed all the major bugs and online features that are missing and THEN announced founding and PCars2 it would have been SO different to me.

I've signed up I haven't had a single issue with project cars on my PC so I'm more than happy to do another round.

Can we stop moaning about project cars. There a thread for it and it's not here.
Project cars will be at least 2.5 years. As they've got to make it work with dx12.SMS also have to devolp a the loose surface model and most likely a new tyre model for dirt and snow tyres.

I suspect for the console users the split between PC will be even greater as you guys won't get the benefit of dx12.

I think it's quite cheeky of them to announce PCARS2 right after the Steam sale ended. Maybe it's planned, maybe it's not, but the timing seems too convenient to me.

Also, since I'm expecting all PCARS1 + DLC content in PCARS2, wouldn't this announcement essentially render buying DLC (and the whole On Demand thing) useless? There would be no point paying for the same stuff twice.

I know that they have split teams for PCARS 1 and 2, and game development can take a few years. But man, I'm quite sure they are not running on fumes financially. Patch up and support PCARS1 fully for 1 year, then announce crowdfunding next year. I don't think it'll make that much difference to the progress of things, but image wise it'll do them a lot of good.

pCARS 2 development will be mostly about loose surface physics, rallycross, etc...

I signed up immediately, looking forward to testing this for the next 2-3 years, even if it means a constant need to reconfigure all my settings every time I start the latest build. :)

pCARS also works fine for me on the PC, now that the FFB is useable (T300 works very nicely with stock settings since the latest patch, just raise FFB=100% and drop tyre force down to 35% and you are good to go). It's become my "go to" sim for when I want a quick race with (accelerated) changeable weather conditions.

People knew this was coming but to announce this so soon after they shipped PCars1 just seems off to me considering the issues still in place.

I'm disappointed in PCars and tbh at this moment in time would not buy sequel.

According to Ian, PCars was already built with DX12 in mind.
Also, the xbox will fully take advantage of DX12. It was built with that in mind.

Well there goes another franchise that had potential to be a good car racing game in the modern age of gaming.

Looks like I'm still sticking with TOCA Race Driver 3 which still feels better than some of these "new" racing games, and TRD 3 came out in 2006 on the PS2/Xbox!!!

Sorry for being aggressive, I'm actually pretty mad about this whole thing

Wow, have barely visited the Pcars forum before, but looking through it now, that Ian Bell guy is such a C***!

He should look at how David Cameron manages and soothes angry citizens over taxes and such. Fighting angrily with customers for the world to see is the biggest no-no I can think of in the business world.

Looking less forward to opening my Pcars game soon after realising how the main guy deals with people.

According to Ian all the people that pay his wages don't deserve an opinion about a patch that didn't fix everything it said it would.

I wonder how much of the crowd funds go on his wages....

Literally the song playing at the SMS offices all day

The fact they announce or not, isn't an issue. Devs often start making their next game straight after their previous one released. Whether we know about it or not is irrelevant.

What IS a bit cheeky, is still making people pay up front kickstarter style, thus removing financial risk for the Dev, and placing it on the consumer. Again. When their current game has sold over 1m copies, and probably should be able to be self funded.

How is anyone being made to pay? Surely everyone has a choice? They are not making anyone do anything. You can pay to get the game and a load of other goodies (depending on how much you pay) and to be involved in and have a say in the development of the game. There is nothing wrong or cheeky about it.

I think, fundamentally, the vast majority of people having a bitch or a moan about this haven't got a clue what they are talking about. They do not understand or have not bothered to find out what is proposed and just see at as a way to take a cheap shot.
