Seriously. What's so great about the Risi Competizione livery? It's just basic red with sponsor decals. What is the appeal of that?
 
I don't like when the track gets wet suddenly. Also rain or snow, the all the grip is there.

The track doesn't 'get wet suddenly', that part of the track had more rain. Those sudden transitions are how it works assuming localised variation. That took a lot of effort :)

We had every race driver to a person screaming at us that the grip in the rain was way way too low. We kept increasing it until the point they said it was accurate. They pointed out that rain grip is off in every other sim (with proper rain tyres for the conditions) with the possible exception of GP3 and 4 way back.

So we're not doing this for 'gameplay reasons' as we know people expect the grip to be lower and we'd get more 'sim cred' for it, but that wouldn't be accurate.

Edit, this is one of the videos we were linked. I should also add that up until the point of aquaplaning the grip stays pretty even assuming the tyre tread can dissipate the water. We do simulate aquaplaning also of course.

Yeah, because sudden downpours NEVER happen in real life and all season tires really are useless in rain. :rolleyes:
Did you even watch the video? It's not a sudden downpur, it's been raining for quite a while, and the track remained mostly dry.
At one point it suddenly (16:24) becomes wet (like on/off switch):

Well, depending on how much rain falls a track can stay pretty close to dry, at least not affecting driving significantly. As BaldBastard also mentioned, there is localized weather in PC2, so there is no single rain intensity for the track as a whole, it can change pretty quickly as it can in real life. We've had on/off thunderstorms in Hungary recently. :)

You are right though, the sudden reflectivity change on the road at 16:24 is quite jarring, but before I make any conclusions about it I would like to know the exact graphical settings Jimmy used to record that video. From what I've heard most people who drove PC2 in VR did so at low/medium settings, where I would expect more graphical artifacts like this.

Great video nonetheless. Shame about the crash at the end.

Indeed and it's not needed much to look *really* good. VR good != monitor good as we know and yet it will surprise many how good it looks ;)

Lower settings ofc, affect other areas not just less polygons. Reflections are as always one of the things bad for FPS (in all games) and in the rain having them at low has it's price (like reflective puddles not showing far enough) and which is what I assume it's happening here.

Welcome to VR... or better yet: Welcome to the world where we buy better gpu's so we can see more and clearer and at higher resolutions :)
