Yes it does. Running races in custom mode earns you credits also. I believe practicing does to. And Rivals can help. Plus online. Credits everywhere. :)

I think I've only just started class C but I've got 1.5 million credits (plus a few car purchases) from playing other modes. Also look for the reduced car of the day offer in the dealership, sometimes it can be something you might need.

You can also skip events and return to them later, if you want.

And game crashes - unfortunately that is not unheard of. A few more patches required!

I tried custom races, but those do not pay out credits, they do give experience points.

Redoing races in career mode only give credits when you hit a target that you did not yet achieved.

I just did the weekly rivals in Portugal. Lovely combination with the LMP car. But no credits. I did get experience points though.

Thanks for the dealership tip. I will keep that in mind.

PC3 is a game that has me hooked for a week already. The career mode is big and with its challenges it keeps me coming back for more. I haven't played any other game since. Except a short race on Imola in ACC with the 488 Evo.

I love my hobby :D

Sorry @MarcoM, I should have said the XP and credits are linked.

The career mode is big and with its challenges it keeps me coming back for more.
I've played PC2 for a few years and never really touched the career mode, it was mainly custom races and online. I thought I'd be the same with PC3 but, as you say, the career and its car progression draws you in.

And I didn't really know I wanted to own, paint and add stripes to cars until I tried it. :P

I also did not know that I'd like to create my own avatar in the game. Now just casual clothes. When I enter the race classes, I will get something more suited.

I noticed the xpoints leading to credits. Satisfying.

Less satisfyingly is this bug with the Mercedes group C race car when in cockpit mode:

Anyone else ?

Just tried rivals for the first time and last time why oh why cant you just switch off the ghosts... its ok first couple of runs then its full vision obscured they're so opaque for ghost rofl

I haven't looked at controller settings in months but is there a button in there to hide ghosts?

I am still battling to buy this or not. I would like to have a new fresh racing game focused on road cars and i like some additions to PCars 3 car list, but i wonder is it any fun on racing wheel? I don't care about controller i have different games for that. I just want to have nice expirience on a wheel. Also i hope it has clutch and H-Shifter support?

I use with with a Fanatec csw2.5 with the H shifter and V3 pedal on ps4pro. All things you want are supported. It's a massively fun game. I keep on getting back to the carreer mode. In 8 days I have put 18 hours in it. That's a record for me.

Get it, you'll probably like it!

Wait until it goes on sale again that way you won't be too disappointed if you don't like it. However most people who buy PC3 thinking it might not be that good seem to be pleasantly surprised. I was certainly one of them.

Once you adjust to the games glitzy appearance and its tweaked physics, as Marco says above, you'll probably like it. Although it's not entirely based on road cars there's still plenty of them to try.

I just want to have nice experience on a wheel.
I've tried it on a controller and it's good but generally I use a wheel (G29) and I think it's really good. There's not many settings to adjust but it doesn't really need them because it's just fine. Just give it a little time to get "the feel" for it.

I'm enjoying it on a wheel.

I don't take the game super seriously or anything, but when I want to chill out with my friends and run a lobby, it's good.

Higher downforce cars are more fun in my opinion, most handle rather well.

All this vitriol, says way more about our current circumstances than the game itself really. The games original build wasnt so nice I played it briefly waiting for the update to finish downloading so I understand gripes there. Gotta say as it is now this is entertaining title that is worth having in a driving game collection. What makes videogames so compelling is they change over time, it used to be between titles now better still between updates. I understand the feelings of belonging and enjoyment for certain iterations of a game too, for me nothing will ever touch street fighter 3 third strike ahhh good times.... So for Project Cars 1&2 fans rejoice that you have them & they are precious, they cant be taken away either. If this title isnt as good in your eyes thats ok, lets see what the future holds this franchise is here to stay and on new consoles could be a spicy meatball for pad / wheel / casual / sim whatever camp u want to fly your flag in. Reflect a little on the negativity, there's a reason for it (its transference), we are all stressed to the max worried about catching covid and how it might affect our lives family and friends. Enjoy your gaming its a great distraction, play your favourites dont worry about games you dont enjoy the great software conveyor belt is spewing more out every day and generally theyre getting better with time.

Yes my friend .....as the other guys have said it's an exciting full on Motor Racing game.....
Which works well straight out of the box....... with both a Wheel & Controller ...
I am using a Thrustmaster TX with an X Box X console linked to a 28 inch 4k monitor..... and it looks and plays fantastic.....
I would point out that to get the absolute best out of PC3 ..... you definitely need an X Box X or one of the New generation consoles ....

yeah raining brings it a bit down. But still the rain is shown. In ACC, the rain is only visible when it poors and even then it is lack luster.

Funny thing is I started to dig deeper in history and tried Shift 2. What do you think? The controls are "broken" as in PC3 (bit different). More funny thing is I played it on a wheel before and had to stop immediately because of input lag on it. So, yeah, it's probably successor to Shift because of it.

I didn't get a locked 60fps until I went to Xbox Series X.

Where previous gen really struggles is online, as people joining/leaving a lobby can cause judder. That's greatly diminished on Series X.
That's true in MP it looked like 20 FPS on X1X with even higher input lag.

Same as PC2, can be annoying when you're pushing to get pole & someone enters or leaves. I'm sure some people do it because they're bitter as you see the same name go in & out a couple of times just to cause stutter, not much of an issue in a private session.

Anyways, why is this not much of an issue with the new console @PJTierney, is it because of a better network adapter inside or to do with the SSD?

I actually thought it was just the netcode of the game or something else network related (xblive/psn/isp), didn't think the new consoles would make that much of a difference but if you notice it then that's worth the upgrade along with the solid frame rate.

Does this happen on pc/steam?

It's relatively OK on X1X too but you shouldn't do nasty stuff like raining :D
As I have said before my friend.... I am sure you can set up Scenarios like racing in the Rain around City circuits with 24 Cars... which I am sure will test even the New Gen consoles...

However my racing is predominantly Custom Events in the dry .....sometimes with a Damp track start ....with up to say 10 cars .........

And from where I'm sitting it looks just fantastic on my X Box X... linked to a 4k monitor.......and gives me all the thrills I want.....

No frame drops / no tearing ......just everything spot on..... with amazing graphics......Lovely .......

Potentially stupid question, but if I get this game for Xbox One will I be able to play it for Series X when I eventually get one?, Is it optimized?

That will be the Drift pack then.

I know there's an Electric pack due after that but I guess we will have to wait and see if anhything comes after that.

I have a theory (and I could be wrong here) that a player joining or leaving, or an Xbox notification coming up on the screen (which also seems to cause the "join judder") uses up a tiny amount of the CPU's resources, and Project CARS 3 is probably already maxing out the CPU on Xbox One so the game freaks out a bit.

That would seem to explain why I no longer get that judder when people join/leave a lobby (Series X has a much more powerful CPU), whereas the people in the lobby who still use Xbox One continue to have the issue.

Your game will work on the Series X no problem, as all Xbox One games are backwards compatible on Xbox Series X.

I have found that loading times are much faster, and the overall gameplay experience is much smoother, on Xbox Series X. Nothing revolutionary but the bottlenecks you experience on Xbox One are largely gone.

Hmmm, I tested some very old sims without any gamepad support and I loved them immediately. So for me, it's enough to have good wheel support where I can map axis to my gamepad and everything's fine. So there is probably no chance for this big change for PC3 because even the wheel is assisted. OK, at least I know the history of this controls (Shift).

Read the modding thread about Shift 2 here and Shift 2 forums on internet archive cache of nogripracing portal. It wasn't "assisted", the problem was something else which was EA's fault.

In regard to Project Cars 3 it's pretty much possible that you might be the only player in the world who can see any "assist" there as the player base is very low and even after numerous proofs and explanations from @Nacho Libre you keep posting about this since nearly 2 months. Therefore I wouldn't expect this to be altered in the game but - hopefully - I might be wrong.

Thanks for the tips. I bought a PC to test many racing games I missed so I tried Shift 2. I bought it years ago but wasn't able to play it on a wheel because something strange was there (I thought lag). It would be nice to check it here what it is.

Sure, no problem, it's a design. I have plenty new games so it's not a problem at all. I am just curious what is wrong with the game to me because currently I played around 30 games in last few weeks and no other game has same steering as PC3. Maybe one day I will find it's good to play to me... who knows.

Interesting thing is my friend bought PC3 week ago and he's happy with it. That's fine, it's OK for many people and I need to be careful next time if steering is highly assisted like in PC3.
