If it’s anything like Xbox there won’t be many public lobbies to choose from.

Sometimes my Monday sessions are packed because I’m hosting the only session at the time, or at least the only one with more than 1 person in it.

That was so much fun. PCars 3 is absolutely fantastic online.
Ended up in a lobby with a few clean racers and we had a blast trying out different car and track combos.

The core of this game is as solid as a rock. Pretty much every car is an absolute hoot to drive fast.

It's your age. At 120 you can expect a little confusion. :P

Keep your windows wound up and you'll be OK.

I might try to join at some point later. Is there any particular room name to look for?

Sorry dude, I only spotted this now. We just put our names up on the lobby. Would you be up to joining us some other night perhaps?

The racing was brilliant tonight... fast, clean and great fun.

Such a good selection of public lobbies to choose from on PSN too, what a great evening.

All the cars that we raced in felt fantastic... I even held a slide... it was almost heroic.

I would have popped in last night but in the end Mr Netflix dragged me away. So yes certainly another time.

One question though.
I did look at the lobbies earlier in the evening, I hadn't really ventured into there much before. Is it just mine or does the screen keep refreshing every 5 seconds for everyone on PS4? It's very annoying, you can be looking at one lobby then all of a sudden it jumps on screen to another position in the list. It would make selecting one in particular very awkward I'd think.

Yep, that's messiest of messes alright. It's a weird system. You end up joining a different lobby because it blinks before you hit enter.

OK, that's a very odd then, particularly if you want to attract online players! Stabbing a button and hoping for the best doesn't quite seem right. Do you know if that's intentional @Konan?

I wonder if it's the same on the other platforms?

The lobby switching is rather annoying, best workaround I've found is to only select the top one on the list as it cycles every few seconds. You get to see all the lobbies as they pass through and just enter when the one you want is highlighted.

Finally picked up the Deluxe Edition in the current PS sale. Have to say I’m quite enjoying the game. Have to take it for a what it is, it’s no sim but an enjoyable arcade racer that you can pick up and dip into for short bursts of fun.

The visuals do look over-saturated with aliasing artefacts from earlier PCars games visible, something I really wish they could improve to help give the game a more clear and polished look. But still, overall I’m enjoying it and what it offers. For me it’s in a similar vein to Grid (2019) but of course offering a lot more content and customisation options.

I think if you go into this with an open mind and not too high expectations of something similar to PCars 1 and 2, and are looking for something more pick up and play, you’ll enjoy it. Just wish it would have been marketed more clearly as a spin off rather than sequel and feel more people would have given the game a chance. A next gen patch to improve visuals would also be a huge benefit for the game and with GT Sport delayed it could help fill that void and get more players onboard.

Are you using a pad or a wheel please?
I have to say, I disagree with some of what you have written there, not all of it though.

The ffb and physics are excellent imho. It's not fair to lump it in with the likes of Grid.

To be fair GRID had its strong points; it looked good and the on-track experience was fun. I haven't driven it with a wheel myself but from what Ive been told the FFB is good too (it's based on the DiRT Rally 2.0 FFB implementation).

It was the lack of things to do that really let it down in my opinion; you had Career and Multiplayer Lobbies, but not much else. Project CARS 3 rectifies that.

Had this game for a couple of weeks or so now and I'm loving it.Fantastic track list with a great variety of cars to race in,a solid career and the hugely addictive Rivals mode (filling the gap for the much missed Driveclub Challenges ) adds up to a great package.
Graphics on the PS5 are a mixed bag.At times it looks amazing, twilight around Long beach comes to mind.At others it's horrific, the shadow pop in on trees can be awful but overall with its rock solid framerate it's generally an immersive experience.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to see if I can squeeze into the platinum division on todays daily Rivals!

I'm on the PS5 as well, and haven't noticed any horrific graphics at all. Could you tell me where you are seeing the bad shadow pop ins, I would like to test that for myself. The framerate is very soild, virtually locked at 60fps, the only time I've seen slight dips is behind a full field of cars, in the career with lots of spray being thrown up in front of me.

Graphics depend on the time of day, weather, location, etc. Some are stunning, like all of the sunrises/sunsets with clear or light clouds I’ve seen so far, but there are a some combinations that are cringe worthy. The trees at Nord with overcast in winter look almost PS2 era, but it doesn’t keep me from playing.

This is why i think this GRID had potential. If they add more content and career mode closer to the first RaceDriver GRID formula.

Exactly, the game has great basics. My only problem is a bit floaty controls on a gamepad but it's the same from first Grid. I would improve it and sell as semisim easily (Forza and GT competition). Something like Autosport but a bit tuned. It would be great game because almost everything is there yet.

Only had a few hours with the game so far but enjoying it more than I thought I would. Just been playing through the Road E and D on PS5 using the controller. I didn’t mind the handing on Grid but did need a lot of tweaking to get it working the way I wanted it, PC3 on the other hand definitely feels great out the box with all assists disabled. Am looking forward to trying the game with a wheel as soon as I can.

@PJTierney
My apologies, sir.
No apology needed; I'm talking here as a fan of racing games, not as an attempt to back up Codies :)

I liked GRID, I like Project CARS 3. Both have their plusses and minuses to be fair.

Agreed, the foundation was good (the game looks great on Xbox One X or a high spec PC) but unfortunately there wasn't much on top of it.

Excellent, please feel free to jump into a lobby with us sometime.
I'm only running it on the PS4 myslef.

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the deal of the day not being a deal at all? 0% off doesn't seem like much of a bargain to me. I get this a lot and the cars normally show up no matter what random time I play the game with 1 hour or less left on the clock. :odd::confused:

Yep, I've had it on a few occasions as well.

I check out the daily discount most days and have never had that. Only thing I can think of is that you go in directly after going into PC3. You will have noticed that as you just go in, it takes a couple of seconds before your DR/SR show up top right, then another few seconds and a red box appears bottom right, then if you played Rivals the previous day, after the red box you get the blue/white exclamation mark over the Rivals. If you go into rivals (whether you've played the day before or not) before those 10 seconds or so, it is 'empty'. I wonder if, if you go into showroom before that sequence is finished, it hasn't yet connected to its server to find the daily discount?

Sounds like that could be it, I’ve never looked for a pattern in it.
