The only good thing about pcars 3 is modders having new car models to transfer to pcars 2 ;)

Like the Corvette c8r man that felt great to be able to drive that car in pcars 2

Wish someone would transfer the viper acr as well. :(

People are slowly working on different cars from PC3. There are so few modders though because the process is so difficult. :(
All the new GTE's are great in PC2. I even made a new GTE category to keep the old and the new separated. I just have to shift the Ferrari back and forth depending on what group I want to drive but it's nice to have them separated.

Having played it for a little bit after picking it up on sale and reading and watching many, many various opinions on it, there's so much wasted opportunity with PC3. I think many of us were expecting in the leadup, with the talk of "All the sim you could want" and "Spiritual successor to Shift 2," was a refined and expanded upon Project Cars 2 with Shift 2's raw, amped to 11 dramatic presentation. Or that's what I was hoping for anyway, and it would have been truly awesome.

Leaving all that and PC3's hammered to death omissions and flaws aside for a minute, if you look at the things it does right, controller handling is good, which is important for this sort of title, the road cars generally drive well and believably I think, and the fictional tracks are mostly rather good, the upgrade system and livery editor work well. It's sort of the opposite of PC2 in that, in PC2, the road cars and fictional tracks feel out of place, and in PC3, it's the other way around. If they'd expanded on that with some more pretend tracks, which SMS has historically done quite well, and a car list focusing on road cars and more of them, left out some of the race cars that are basically homeless, and most importantly didn't name the damned thing Project Cars 3, it would very much have been a game in the vein of Project Gotham/Driveclub/Grid and I believe it would have been very well received. As it is, if I look at it completely honestly, it all seems a bit messy and unfocused, and exactly misses out on that spectrum and the PC2 crowd, which is a shame. It tries to hard to appeal to everyone and ends up not. Although I'd have to admit with the limited time I've spent with it I've started to prefer it as an arcadey type racer to Forza 7, even with FM7's massive car list. I just wish some of my Xbox club mates agreed, for our fairly un-serious, quick-hit races that we do, it's great.

My expectations or hopes were something like this:

My Xbox club ran with it for a year and it was indeed good fun. Only shifted away from the game because of low player counts in the end, we were barely getting 5-6 people in the final weeks as people had had their fill and moved on.

Is there any way to work around that PC3 blocks normal key functions. F.E. you can't open the gamebar via X-Box Button on the Xbox One Controller. Also my music control keys on the keyboard to shuffle thru my in the backround running playlist in iTunes or Winamp or VLC doesn't work either. No problem in any other game. Only PCars 3.

Decided to load this up last night and give it a few laps, quickly remembered why I don't spend much time in it lately...

Despite the AI, graphics and the lack of information given to the driver and the annoying race engineer babbling along, This FF touring car suffers massive lift off understeer but has great rotation if you just keep you foot pinned down on the gas the whole time...

Maybe its because I haven't driven enough police cars but this doesn't seem right to me, always thought powering through a corner in an FF means understeer not "oversteer"

So i did something i said i wouldn't do and that's download this game again why you ask?

It just hit me that this game is the only game that i know of on ps4 that has the corvette c8r? please correct me if im wrong.

I know that on pc Automobilista 2 has it and via mods pcars 2 but sadly i lost my gaming pc so i only have a ps4 pro.

:)

I wouldn't mind this coming to Game Pass at some point, as it seems more like the type of game I want these days - I don't have time for a full sim experience, so anything in the Forza/GT wheelhouse holds my interest much more.

Just shut it off in the options. Thanks. I have to take a shower now watching the dirty driving in this video. And are you sure you know what understeer and oversteer means? I just see lift of oversteer and power understeer.
Are you clean now? just wait til you see a GT Sport daily race
Yes I am aware of what understeer and oversteer is, at 1:04 I'm getting lift off understeer

I uploaded this recently because it shows a different aspect of PC3. Nice graphics (lovely sunrise), decent competitive AI (I tapped them more) and a fully immersive interior view.

I start last and realistically didn't gain many spots, but still enjoyed it immensely. It's not all about winning.

Sorry it's a little longer custom race - but you get much better experience that way. I don't use the rather frantic short career races very much. It's still my favourite single player fun racing title. The game is what you make of it.

PC3 can be fun. I enjoy it for what it is. The AI can be very inconsistent in this game it seems to vary from track to track

Yeah that's a problem inherited from previous versions, they often require a little tweak to get them just right. I suppose the benefit of PC3 is that you can adjust the settings from the pre-race screen, not have to back out to the main menu and reload again. It makes it easier to start a race, stop and adjust, then restart.

I'm currently trying to run them on pro for skill and low for aggression. Generally that seems to make them fairly well behaved. It's a good starting point I find but it's not always successful every time.

I went back into career mode and didn't realize they had some events for the DLC packs. I started on the style pack events and won the first event then I did the hot lap on Cote D azur and I did horrible. I didn't even know that track was in the game. Anyway I haven't raced that track in awhile and I was crashing everywhere it was terrible and remembered why I don't like that track

They should have gone with PC GT. All the cars and all the tracks with none of the micro transactions. :)
Plus no internet required for single player!
I'm so glad I haven't bought GT7. It's looking really grim. After feeling completely ripped and let down with GTS, (bought at launch), I told myself never support them again. There's so many other great racing games about that it is completely skippable. Personally I'm looking forward to FM8, let's hope that it's free of microtransactions.

The problem is there is no other game with the same feeling. Kaz cares about things no other people do. Still the game is rather bad experience for now. Check the user score on MC. :D

I'll admit there's a certain charm and magic with GT but for me that completely evaporated with Sport. The game was flat out boring. The physics were bland, the track surface featureless, too smooth like driving on marble, nothing like in real life.
It looks to be more of the same with 7 and even worse given the slow progression with the recent update and the continued use of microtransactions, always online etc etc.
Not for me!

Edit: just checked mc, mental! What a sad situation and large hole they've dug for themselves.

I'm normally an online rally gamer, but do play every GT too. Getting tired of years of rally, so a friend found me copies of PC1 and PC3. Looking forward to playing them later today.

If you like GT then you'll probably like PC3 as well, it's a very enjoyable racing game. PC1 can be a little harder to get into, it's a somewhat complex motorsport simulation with rather clunky user menus. It's still a good game though and some even prefer it over PC2. Although personally I like PC2 more, it's an evolution of the original. PC3 was a revolution! :)

PC3 for a short chill round without worrying about setup, quali, etc. and some interesting game modes.

PC2 for a deeper experience with more time to invest getting faster. Not much sense going back to PC1 while PC2 is the evolution of PC1 with more content and fixes.

I already do own PC1 and 2 for Xbox One, but never started them since I dont have a wheel for that console because I play it very seldom. Most of my motorsports gaming is done on PS4, GTSport, Dirt Rally, Dirt Rally 2.0, WRC 9 and 10, and now GT7, simply because the friends I compete with are all on Sony.

I've started PC1 using a G29 and all I can say is wow. No wonder people loved this game. It's intense. I've made a profile in PC3 and have done the preliminary race using a dual shock. Quite a bit of difference in the presentation.
