If true then thats stupid. One of the most requested things for PC2 and it was ignored while we were told that the career mode would have everything we would want from the championships and they were wrong. 3 years of complaining and they STILL won't give us this feature that is the only way to really appreciate the car and track list for this game.

I dont care about losing pit stops and tyre wear, not even fussed if they HAVE dumbed down the physics like they said they wouldn't. But what is the point of this SANDBOX racing game if you cant actually do what you want.

Hell even F1 2020 has custom championships and thats a licensed series game and didn't even need to do it. PC3 absolutely needs it, especially if the career mode has such weird car combos and classes.
I agree. It's Fernand moutinho (SMS) who answered me. It's a Big disappointment. Without pit stop, i expected offline custom championship mode be here. It's more simple to implement in the game . It's clear SMS don't want offline custom championship mode in their game.

Then they lose my money quite frankly. I'll pick it up second hand after launch. Thats the final straw for me. Tried to stay positive and optimistic but promise after promise is being broken.

On the other hand The Last Of Us 2 sold very well despite the internet hate. So it could end up different ways.
True. Another good example is Death Stranding. Review-bombed to death on many sites for the PS4 version, and again on the PC launch, yet on Steam (which requires you to own the game before being able to post a review) the reviews are 94% positive.

Anyone that's been around the web and the gaming scene in particular knows that Youtube comments and non-professional reviews don't mean squat. Youtube comments used to be considered the cesspool of the web, the worst of the worst. The only reason that's no longer the case is that the rest of the web went down to the same level. I trust the professional (or amateur) opinion of a handful of folks, the rest is all trash.

On-topic: My excitement around this title is pretty much zero. I loved PC1 and PC2 because they tried to do something different than all the rest and there was a strong involvement of and backing by the community. That's all gone.

So I'm watching the videos that rolled out today and uh... why is there a classic escort and a rallycross fiesta competing against modern GT3/GTE/GT4s and 90's GT1s?

Apparently SMS sent notes to say that will be fixed. But we'll see.
Giving the player more freedom (within reason) wouldn't be a bad thing, since they're trying to appeal to Forza fans, as many (not me) complained about the restrictive divisions in FM7. Hope they borrow the race length options from FM7s career mode.

And you are surprised ?
No, but I like to point it out.

Written words have always somehow a value.

But it is exactly the opposite.

Forza has far too many categories!

PCars3 has far too less, with many different cars grouped without reason.

where did they talk about these stuff? Will be nice if that is a bug and it will be great if they talk about such things not hide deep inside discord or something.

Well it's all about balance. I didn't mind FM7s, however there's a few cars that should of been able to be in more than one division.

I think it was Chris Haye who mentioned it during one of his videos - which have since been made private..

Interesting. I watched his career mode video this morning and it felt like someone talking about a 10-year wanting to take on Usain Bolt and really believing he could, but the commentator just couldn't get himself to say - "You have legs, you can run, but you're just not there yet, son". Not quite condescending or patronising, but not far off.

EDIT: He did mention in one of those 2 PC3 videos that he was not allowed to share certain aspects. I wonder if SMS changed their minds on what could be shared by the media release?

Probably the track and car list debacle

Latest videos hadn't dissapointed me enough until I read there won't be offline custom championship, which is something everyone has been asking for since pc2 release. Ian himself promised this for pc3, so you can see another example of the disconnection that exist among devs and users, comparable already to that of politicians and citizens.

So much confusion up to this point, which is of course done on purpose and never ever end up resulting in anything good.

I didn't hear the whole thing yesterday, but didn't Nathan say that custom championships are going to be there soon? I know, I know, queue the sarcastic comments and eye rolling. But I believe that was said, since it was something he had wanted and they told fans would be there. His words were something like 'I didn't know they weren't in there and I was very mad when I found out, because we had said that was something we wanted. They're going to be in there as soon as we can'. I'm completely paraphrasing here, but I think it was basically that.

I'm a little disappointed in some aspects, but this is the first console (PS4) I can remember that doesn't have this type of game yet. We haven't gotten a true GT game, and the other games with this type of customization have all been straight up arcade games. We have some hardcore sims, we have arcade, but I don't think we have something like this.

for me the most important thing is repairing those damn classes. Custom championship would be nice but useless if i won't be able to make any nice racing with GT4 or GT3 category.

But i understand that people are angry especially Ian promised it. But hey... He said also that this game is all sim we could want and yet it is showing that is more arcade than SIM

yesterday, on discord, a member of SMS (F. Moutinho) replied that it was not part of the game. Maybe then that will come later. Let's be careful with the statements, I'll see on the spot...

Yes, absolutely. But, I had heard Nathan say this. And I THINK it was about custom championships. Just trying to see if anyone else heard that. When asked when, he said 2 days or 2 months, he didn't know. The only thing I'm uncertain of is if that was what he was talking about

I'm not sure it wasn't Private Lobbies?

He didn't show anything that wasn't shown on other youtube channels that I can recall.

There’s only 5 specific cars/tracks combination (Formula B on Interlagos being one) that you could show. He showed way more than. He also showed obvious bugs, the full car list, the full track list, the livery editor, car modifications which was not allowed.

It might be the car list he posted, Formula E is a huge scoop that would surely have it's own trailer from the series and developers (possibly next week to coincide with the Berlin rounds starting).

The real car/track list? did anyone not screen grab it?
