Has anyone seen this video - interesting
Career mode walkthrough, the best line "lets put a turbo on, that's what Jesus would do".
maybe 10 years ago or even 5
"Fun."So I'm watching the videos that rolled out today and uh... why is there a classic escort and a rallycross fiesta competing against modern GT3/GTE/GT4s and 90's GT1s?
It appears to be about time to admit that this is just not a game for me. That doesn't mean the game can't be good at what it tries to do, that's just difficult to judge when you don't like the content. Assumed track and car list also appear to have removed more content that I like than that they have added.
I really hope this game returns to its roots on next gen. For now PC2 still entertains me enough, but I really hope a nice sim comes to PS5.
Its funny to me that people are sort of insinuating that the older you get, the more you don't want to play more casual games. I used to want to play fast paced games. I loved racing, and was obsessed with speed and getting the fastest car in the game. Now in my 40s I'm just happy to race eclectic road cars. And most everyone I play with (that I know personally) is the same. They've said they might buy this. For reference, we played GT5 and 6 A LOT together online. They didn't like GTS (I didn't either). I actually bought 2 extra copies of PC2, and they just didn't like it. They both said they may have enjoyed it years ago, but not now. We just want to relax, have a beer and play games.
That doesn't mean we want to play NFS or just go out and ram people. It just means that we don't want to be tense and white-knuckling it while we play. So insinuating it's for someone less 'mature' or experienced is a bit misleading. I think PC3 is just going to be good fun with sim underpinnings

Congratulations Ian and SMS... what was once a fully sim focused series with fan interaction has now been turned into a Forza wannabe. I feel so bad for everyone that was hoping for an ACTUAL true sequel and not... this thing.
With the only small consideration that Forza is moving away from this niche, introducing more refined tire and suspension phyisics (at least according to their press). If they introduced also different tire compound for wet and dry races, then PC3 will find itself battling alone in a niche that Forza and GTSport both left to step up.
This goes both ways though. That doesn't mean we want to play NFS or just go out and ram people. It just means that we don't want to be tense and white-knuckling it while we play.
By the way, the vast majority of comments, on all Youtube gameplay videos posted in the last 24 hours, are demolishing the game and its arcade feeling.
It is really a big s**tstorm that is not confined to some racing enthusiasts forum, but is spreading all over.
Personally, I have mixed bag feelings about this title.
I am pleasantly surprised about the controller implementation, and from the videos I can appreciate the visual feelings of the car passing on curbs.
It looks well done.
I am not worried about races mixing up different cars' categories, as long as they kept the possibility of full customization for races (and hopefully championships) with race selection, category selection, qualifying, etc etc. If this option is present, then I will always build up my own custom races.
What really pisses me off is the removal of tire wear, tire compound, fuel wear, pitstops, etc etc.
With the harsh social beating the marketing videos are getting on YouTube, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a delay in the release. From a business standpoint, this is a nightmare scenario.By the way, the vast majority of comments, on all Youtube gameplay videos posted in the last 24 hours, are demolishing the game and its arcade feeling.

The bad part is. From what we hear there will be no this type of race configuration. You have GT A class which mixes GT3, GTE and GT4 cars (with addition of V8 Supercars and Nascar) and thats it. I doubt they added option to manually select each car on the grid. But old car classes are gone.

I have the hope that what we are seeing is part of the ''career'' mode, where all categories are mixed up (or let's say oddly grouped), and there is still the ''custom race'' mode, where we could setup all parameters of a race or even championships (or hotlap modes).
After all promises that Ian ''Big Mouth'' Bell made about offline custom championships for PC3 on their forums, if they took completely out the custom modes, this game for me can really go directly into the trash bin without even being released.
There won't be offline custom championship in PC3. I am with you. I don't like career mode ( very short races, no qualif, very short championship, a strange mix of cars on the same track...) and no offline custom championship mode. So, this game is just not for me. I was quietly optimistic...It appears to be about time to admit that this is just not a game for me. Gamer Muscle opinion. He also have mixed feelings. Good for simcade fans, bad for sim players. He think this isn't sim anymore.
When i drive the formula cars in this and then drive a road they kind of feel like the same car only that one is alot faster
Based on the videos I've seen so far I would have to disagree, both GT and FM would need to still improve the physics and tyre model considerably, what appears to be more accurate is that GT and FM are trying to get to the niche that PC3 have just reached. With the only small consideration that Forza is moving away from this niche, introducing more refined tire and suspension phyisics (at least according to their press). If they introduced also different tire compound for wet and dry races, then PC3 will find itself battling alone in a niche that Forza and GTSport both left to step up.
Indeed, it's never as simple as 'Camp A all want this' and 'Camp B all want this' and this ******** that all sim drivers are elitists who hate it for existing and all casual players are rammers who have ruined Project Cars as a series just needs to be killed with fire. This goes both ways though.
Some casual players may deliberately wreck people and laugh about it, while others just want to relax with a beer after work, or others just want go fast and see shiny graphics, and so on.
On the other side, some of the more "hardcore" or "sim" guys (or whatever you want to call them) are eSports "tryhards" of course, but some people just find it more engaging to have things like pit stops and aren't necessarily sweating while they are playing.
