I know that by the Car List there's none, but i was wondering if any of you guys in contact with the SMS has a clue if we'll get some proper (modern) Touring cars like those of the WTCC or if a WTCC partnership is possible as DLC.

I know i'll love the game and all but i also know i'll miss racing those if not in game.

Thanks.

Afaik Sector 3 has the exclusive license to the WTCC Series. However, SMS made magic happen and we will get the Mercedes C-Coupe DTM Race Car, as well as some really exciting DLC content that will be announced officially at some point.

That makes two and neither is ingame yet. Your best bet is probably* a touring car DLC pack down the line, once they acquire more licenses.

* = just my personal opinion, not based on any actual knowledge about what SMS is planning

That is what i asked and meant :) i thought you were pointing at me...

I hope sms is working on it; i would gladly pay the dlc! And this year wtcc even runs at nordschleife; imagine that!

Modern touring cars are becoming very popular and is something missing from PCARS at launch, I will state that I hope these licences can be updated because those Touring cars are old and defunct, especially when you have R3E having the WTCC and iRacing trying to get into the BTCC's trousers

I hope your not referring to group A.

I'm pretty sure the ETCC is not exactly "a high priced" serie to get the rights :D but yes they did great and with dlc they may get some touring series for us :)

Depends on how much units were sold... SMS doesnt have unlimited $$$ resources :grumpy: Its still hilarious what quality build SMS made, when you compare their budget to the competitors (Turn10 or Polyphony or ...) yet theres still a lot people moaning about the 60€ for one copy (PS4/XB1)

How large is the budget?

Here it says GT5's budget was $60 million.

Whether you wish for BTCC/WTCC/ETCC cars, more roadcars, Pikes Peak hillclimb cars, IHRA drag racers, or the Volkswagen Kübelwagen...at this point in time the game has what it has, and it's what SMS could cover with the resources and contacts at their disposal. It's not like SMS is uninterested in adding more in the future.

Speaking of budgets, when can SMS start to tap into the pre-order revenues? People like me have ordered the game for a long time, and I'm more than happy if they use my money towards the next project (DLC, updates, etc). Just curious how much SMS already knows in terms of how many pre-orders they have received? Should give them some hope for the future, I'd imagine.

I believe it looks very promising, plus they certainly have made a good deal with Bandai Namco as their distributors.

They won't tap the numbers in until the money actually is paid.

3.7M Euros / $4.2M

About 7% of GT's budget, but yet much better graphics, physics, and weather.

I also hope that they keep patching stuff into the game when it's released, and it isn't just DLC that you have to buy.

And I find it a bit funny that in the latest edition of Game Informer, it said that the release date was March 17th.

If you mean actual magazine not online, it would probably have gone to print before the announcement. ;)
