R18 e-tron doesn't sound even remotely close to the real car:

I think the engine noise is quite okay. But I am really missing this noticable whistling on the first few meters while accelerating out of corners.
At least the sound is there during braking.

And thinking about that, I am wondering how accurate the hybrid system and electric engine is simulated. Any infos?

From Silverstone, the most notable sound is the tyres, they a probably the loudest part of the car. You can only hear this thing when its right in front of you, and when you can't hear another car on track.

They say on radio le mans that it wispers past, and there not exaggerating it, if you whernt looking at the track when it comes past you wouldnt know any better.

The diesel engine doesn't sound like the real one. Specially in acceleration.

But.... That sounds exactly like how it does in PCARS.

Now I'm the first to moan if a sound is off, and quite a few of the cars in the game sound like absolute crap, but this isn't one of them.

My gripe is about the onboard sound. It may sound ok, or even good, for a quality point of view. But it isn't accurate. Specially in acceleration, it miss that pickup truck diesel note.

I posted those flybys to illustrate what @SK8RBOI was saying.

I supose they do. In the same way that both cars have 4 wheels, a seat, seeing wheel and a driver inside.

You where insulting me? You must be Canadian.

You can hear the engine, but it is very quite, when it was further away you can mostly hear the tyres or air flow around the car I don't know which. In my defence it was a couple of months since I went to the WEC so I might not remember it 100%.

Edit: I feel like a prick. You said illustrate not insult! Lol

I was just referring to the onboard sound of the car which is rather accurate, I find. Maybe the noise needs to be a little bit deeper and more aggressive to fully match the sound of the real life version but overall I'm fine with it.
From the outside, however, the sound is really in of some improvement.

Yes this looks good. They're certainly the first to break cover, but I very much doubt they're the only ones currently crawling over every facet of the game as fast as they can. Lots of people get hung up on the number of crap mods out there, but the best stuff is astonishing in its quality. A lot of the good guys that have come on the scene recently are professional modellers from elsewhere in the game's industry, with some even coming from the movie industry (one of them works for Weta Studios), and the stuff is amazing. The fact that SMS have come out and said they won't impede the modders is absolutely brilliant news. Yes, a lot of the stuff will be junk, but that's a price worth paying for the real gems that we'll also get. Happy days :D

Here is the planned DLC release schedule for the coming months.

If the DLC is coming out this week you would think it would be on a Tuesday right? You know since the stores update and stuff that day. I remember last week they said it was coming next week which is this week.

Not very informative for an Infographics :D

No details, no time scale... It's more like an tease-ographics :D

It'll all come out on December 31st ;)

I'm also curious as to where the free cars are now, it's mid-July now. Even if the Lykan was early that still means we're due one.

Well whatever it is i'm sure it's not the new F1 game......It's terrible apparently, and the Codemasters forum is on fire atm.....I've bought some popcorn due to the entertainment there watching the Codies fanboys defend such a crappy game!!! :P
People say the screen tearing is bad in pCARS (console) but from what I've seen F1 2015 looks awful. And what's with the nasty sepia palette? Probably handles ok though but it doesn't look too hot.

Honestly I don't notice any of the screen tearing people are talking about in PCARS. I've driven about 4,000 miles and tons of hours and haven't noticed a thing.

Has anyone used the screen filters while driving?

the tearing is there in pCARS, just not all the time. creeps up in the same places every time, I saw some pretty bad stuff round California Highway last night, but it doesn't bother me massively, although i generally dislike it. i'm more concerned with the big drop of frames round the final corner at Spa, the tight hairpin (first corner of F1 track). always get slowdown there. would like to see that worked on. i get the tearing is part of refreshing the game to keep a high frame rate which is important.

i still have no idea what the post processing filter does on console, can't see any difference on or off.
