You my freiend have been fed some BS. I got my game for Amazon with the modified car pack.

From my understanding it was a pre order insensitive and you should have received it no matter who you brought it from.

Game did not have any pre order bonus for the standard edition so did not provide code for modified car pack. I was caught out by this and queried with them. The pre order bonus on standard edition was exclusive to certain suppliers and GAME was not one of them.

I got my code for the DLC on my receipt from Game Stop for my pre-order when I picked up the game. Also got a free poster and that awesome hard metal case. No book though lol.

I was in GAME this very morning and left with a pro-order code for my std edition game

I've redeemed it successfully

Interesting, maybe you got lucky, I pre ordered online and when I queried they replied as follows:

I am afraid as stated below this download is available only with the Limited edition and is not something we have advertised on our website or on the POS in our stores. After looking at the Project cars website it states that the only UK retailers who have this bonus DLC with the standard editionis Zavvi and Amazon we are not included in this. Full information can be found via http://www.projectcarsgame.com/preorder.html

I don't know if this has been picked up before but there are some community events lined up which require the new DLC and there is one which has a date

I guess that SMS will want to start a new month with all plans set and revealed. Leaderboards indicate that we should receive first package before the end of next week and there is also another free car to be revealed. So I think that it's highly probable that we will have more info this week.

It is also possible, that Racing Icons Car Pack will be available for free considering the issues many people has after the launch. Anyway, it's just my guess.

If this is so, then the first patch must be coming soon. If a dlc package is released before any patching, that would be shockingly bad PR imo

The date on the leaderboard has been in place since day 1, as such I don't think we should be wary of reading anything into what it means for the patch.

Indeed. Anyway, bloody patch needs sorting, and soon :D Far as I know, its at Microsoft?

I hate DLC and season passes and trying to squeeze ever dollar out of you...BUT...SMS have my money no matter what DLC comes out :D

As long as it does not feel like were being totally ripped off *Cough T10/Forza*

Yeah, I bought a season pass for DriveClub then stopped playing it a week later!! What a wally

Still, I've got Farming Sim on the way, already seen an extra tractor for 80p
Is Farming Sim and old-ish pc title? It could be the start of a wonderful new trend. Older pc sims ported
to console because nowadays the current gen consoles could handle them?

Ohh, ooh! GT Legends. GTR2. rFactor :D

So.... Are those of us that don't own the Limited edition version or didn't pre order ever going to get the chance to get these 2 Car Packs?

Keep looking on X Box store and it still says "Bundle only"

Sorry but I'm not spending £49.99 for a game I already own just for a few extra Cars.

Don't mind paying for the packs but not the game again.

I assume same content whether it's multiple DLCs or season pass. Nothing changes my thinking - I'll buy if I think it's worthy.

Or no season pass because SMS is giving that (planned Season Pass) content for free?!
Pretty sure he just meant there isn't going to be a single price covering all the content. Could be for many reasons, but most likely, being a small dev, they can't be 100% sure of what content they are going to be able to release in the next 12 months. In a good way though, it kind of tells you they probably don't have months worth of content setting on their hard drives ready to release at any moment.

They BETTER grant us alpha testers access to the first few packs... y'know, being that we tested some of their content and all. If they don't do it, I'll punch a cat go sit in a corner and cry.

I read something about this, the guy said that they wouldn't follow the traditional DLC model. They want the freedom to release the DLC when they want and not have a predeterminated date, so they cancelled it for now but wait for an official response from them.

I doesn't get more official than the Head of Studio announcing it. ;)
There will be no season pass, only single DLC packs.

I hope they have plans to keep feeding us for the next 2 years at least, before they start working on the next one.

For the 8920348290348290th time: Developing content for one game is a complete different work to starting with the next one. This is common everywhere, not only in the gaming industrie. I'm sure they will sort out the important bugs first but pcars and it's successor will be developed side by side and if that wouldn't be public most of you would probably not even notice that they are working on another title.

That statement can be applied to a big studio, but I find highly unlikely for SMS to split the limited amount of resources they have. By keeping this game alive I'm not talking about patching the game, but to keep adding content and features. The leaked info we got about DLC is worth a year of content, which is what most studios do with their game. The DLC has been planed even before the game releases, following the trend of this generation games, and that's what got me worried.

Also, even for the biggest studios, parallel development isn't an easy task. That's why you see annual games being developed by different studios. And the ones that keeps the same developer, the game doesn't improve a lot in relation to the previous.
