Modding is a great addition to any game. But the other side of the medal is that 99% of all mods are crap. That said, the good ones make it worthwhile. :) Not sure why this was posted without any context whatsoever in the DLC thread to be honest.

Now that we know what we are getting for the track expansion for this month it's time to start speculating for the next track pack. What could it be? Just Daytona, or Daytona and indy or could we see more than two ovals? Or..... Will it even be ovals? As for cars we already know that pretty much. Man i can't wait until January:D I just hope i don't be disappointed.

This. It's one of the things which turns me off to Assetto Corsa. It's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.

There are handful of games which I play modded, and I usually wait until the modding group has a cohesive, well-planned and implemented mod - one which normally exceeds the quality level of the original game/design. Things like the Blitzkrieg Mod for Company of Heroes, and the Red Hammer Studios mods for ARMA III. They're above and beyond the quality of the original game and are implemented seamlessly with their own updaters/launchers etc.

The RBR mod for Richard Burns Rally would get a mention but it's the most unorganized poorly implemented/handled mod I've ever seen - despite the rave reviews it gets. It's website is garbage and the constant updates make it infuriating. If someone would both to produce a quality launcher/installer instead of downloading a dozen files, then a half dozen updates, then modding your scripts etc...it might be worth it.

The majority of mods consist of apes slapping their keyboards for "OMG UNLIMITED AMMER!" nonsense.

I know this Veneno is a mod, but I hate to see people starting to throw half-arse models up...as it'll only damage the appeal of the game.

I also read somewhere here, or in the official forum, that we would be getting a 'free' Xmas present, in the form of the IndyCar or Nascar pack, along side a 'normal' priced DLC...Is there anything still in that? Or is it nonsense?

Damn i wish:D But most likely probably nonsense. Why would the ovals and Indy cars and NASCAR be free? Most likely we will probably see the oval pack in January.

That would be such an odd decision. What's been the most asked for DLC? Clearly ovals. They got a good chance to make a lot of money off of that DLC.

For sure, but maybe something free to get us tempted in buying the oval packs, like a free IndyCar/Nascar for example...Here's hoping!

It's Ford Australia, not Ford America. And I can't see it being lumped in the Ford Oval pack, so hopefully just a free car (and soon!) :)
To average people who may not know doe... :P

I only said with the American pack because I'm thinking the Ford pack is going to include all things Ford possibly. And since it is a Ford Australia car, just maybe it'll be free. :D Also I mentioned American pack because when the photos of uncoming cars for the new DLC's was shown in this thread a while back, it was with the 2 standard Indycar's, NASCAR Ford, and something else I think.

Man I hope you're right. It'd be an awesome free car, especially for Aussie players. I know a few Holden boys that might get a llittle sooky though lol

New Zealand players too :D the Australian cars are a huge part of our car culture, Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons are ubiquitous here and our police have always used them.

Haha, they will just have to deal with it. I've typically been a Holden fan but I will just be happy to have any V8 Supercars! I just hope they get the sound right (ala iRacing and not Forza...)

They should....and I hope they do. I love that V8 and transmission combo sound they have.

You're right mate, can't forget about the Kiwis! Some of the best racers in Australian motorsport history have been Kiwis.

Edit: I'm not a Holden or Ford man myself, I acknowledge they've both made very good, and incredibly bad cars. I just love stirring up people who are hardcore Holden or Ford supporters lol, and having the FG and no Commodore to go against it in Pcars will be great ammo for stirring up Holden fanboys hahaha.

If the rumors that SMS is about to get their hands on a GM license is true, then a V8 Commodore is within reach.
