If you look at those images they are mostly mid range as far as polygon count, I would think around 75,000 per vehicle. I don't imagine you have much experience with modeling and animation do you? I have almost 10 years of experience so when some of you people start with terms you don't even understand I think it's kind of funny.

I don't need to know about modelling and animation nor do I need to know how many polys each car has, all I know is that this game is not 'terrible looking' as you claim. It's just not. Even the biggest detractors of this game at least acknowledge it looks great even if they slam the rest of it.

As for feeling "hurt" and defending the game it's not that, I have no reason to defend this game beyond my $25 donation. My feeling are quite frankly annoyance at you personally over the rubbish you're posting.

Oh geez left888, you must have misunderstood me! I m communicating my questions and worries with the devs just fine, thanks.

Its just that you wrote here:

I was sold on a game that claimed it was going to be up with the truest of sim racers, while I asked the developers pertinent questions in this regards their answers were often vague and obvious that it is not going to be a true sim racer as I would expect it to be.

And, for some strange reason, I cant find any pertinent questions like that in your post history at WMD. Just very rude ramblings about the looks of placeholder trees, buttkicker and triple screen support. So it seems to me you re spreading misinformation here about the game and its ambitions and I would like you to stop that.

look FLX, how can I write this without being rude to you. If you have any questions ask the developers of pCARS, they might answer you. I asked the developers the questions I wanted answered. They answered some of my questions and some their answers were vague.

I don't know how to be any clearer then that. :)

Do you mean like the 500 words of drivel you just spouted? Don't bother responding please, I have seen your type before, argumentative and trollish.

Funnily enough that's exactly my opinion of you.

Oh and you bang on about NOT being reminded it's pre-alpha, then comment about optimisation. At the moment they are adding content, optimisation comes at a much later point. Hell I'm gagging for some optimisation because I'm running the game on a cruddy Core 2 duo, I can hotlap and not much else on low settings. But even so it still looks damn good on my system and runs fairly smoothly at 20-30 fps

left888, how can I write this to you without straight up calling you a lying troll... Well, I probably cant.

I ve asked you repeatedly what those pertinent questions were that you supposedly asked the devs and that were so vaguely answered it gave you the feeling pCARS wont be a "true sim". You refuse to come up with an example. Since your post history at WMD shows rude ramblings about placeholder trees, buttkicker and triple screen blabla but sure as hell no important or pertinent questions about the direction of the game, you are hereby officially qualified as "lying troll of the week". Congrats!

Where? Where did you ask these questions and where did they answer?

ATM DX 11 won't play more then 5 or 6 FPS on triples which again needs some serious optimization. DX9 gives me a stout 60 FPS which also needs optimization once it goes pre release. As I mentioned earlier, the game play is terrible looking, now I'm not talking about all the rendered images you guys have been posting but actual game play.

Must be Nvidia cards because I am perfectly playable in Eyefinity at 6000+x1080 on 7870(x2).

Hard to tell since you say you're not even on the latest build...

That right there is damn right disrespectful, I can read it. You have to remember not everyone comes from a English speaking country.

I don't have a machine that could run this game, but it does look good. I might pick it up for the ps3 if there's a demo of some sort.👍

You do not have to defend me; I can do this myself if I seem fit. It will just end in unnecessary (extra) conflict if others mingle in.

I just mixed up English and Dutch punctuation which abide to different rules. So I will just have to improve my English punctuation so that I will be understood and people can't complain.

@ Logi: Thanks for the flowers, but I aint no senior manager! :embarrassed:

Wooops, indeed you are not. Why did I remember you as one? I dunno. I just thought Ian already gave you promotion after a promotion I guess. lol

You say you don't need to be defended but just to further back you up on your writing skills in general, they're fine. You need to make sure each paragraph has a clear space between each but other than that, it's completely fine.

I will keep that in mind, Simon. Thank you.

To those wondering about when the new tyre model will be put in, Andy G just said the following earlier today.

Andy Garton
There will be nothing complicated about this - as soon as the basics are complete and testable it will be checked into the builds as anything normally is. This will likely mean managers get it first purely because they get more builds sooner. We'll try and schedule it that way anyway just to make sure it vaguely works on most machines to avoid a meltdown reaction.

I'm saying this once and once only:

If anyone in this thread refuses to back up their statements, no matter how contrived, don't bother telling those you're in a discussion/debate with that you discussed this or that with the developers when you have no intention of identifying what "this or that" actually is - it just makes you look a bit foolish. And should this mudslinging match continue for whatever reason in the same circles they're going in now I'll take it upon myself to clean up the posts involved which likely won't end well for whoever is involved.

There is an ignore list folks, please use it.

That reminds me of something completely off topic; your first line that is.

Message understood on my end though. ;)

Edit:

Just wanted to note a nice thing... at 8:40 PM (GMT+2).

We 'the community' are 4.900 euros away from having invested just as much into the game as SMS has. :D

So that's either...

1 - Senior Manager
5 - Managers
49 - Seniors
109 - Full members
196 - Team members
490 - Junior members

Not bad everyone... not bad. :)

I think neema told me in the previous thread that was deleted do I just have to add [ v ] link [/ v ] ?

For youtube it is [ youtube ] video code [/ youtube ]
So with vimeo I think it is the same; so [ vimeo ] video code [/ vimeo ]
The code for youtube is behind the v= in the link, for vimeo it is the series of numbers in the link.

Lets test it...

Edit:
guess not. Inconsistencies like this are annoying in my opinion. :/

Edit 2:
Woops, seems to work on PC only but not on iDevices. Embedded vimeo vids.
So the above is correct using the vimeo BB-code correct (as the [ bla ] commands are called)

Yeah, you can clearly see the progress now. :)
I guess the vimeo stuff did work, but only for PC and not iDevices (don't have android or Win mobile stuff here).

Vimeo will not work on mobile devices unless you have their premium account or something like that.

I'm considering getting this game. Mostly to indulge a thirst to drive the BAC Mono. Do you think that my laptop will be able to handle the current builds and how well? Should I just wait until the finished product where everything is optimized?

1920x1080 resolution
Intel Core i7-3610QM (2.3GHz)
3GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GTX 670M
12GB DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM

Overclock is doable since it's got great cooling.

Hell yeah, of course that will run it fine. Mine is kinda similar in its oomph (same i7, 2GB HD7970M, 16 GB Ram) and runs the game at stable 50+ fps in DX9 with everything on high/ultra.

I will say this before I leave this thread, firstly, I can not believe how immature some posters in this thread have become. It's almost like I insulted your mothers or something. I have been accused of trolling this thread when clearly some of my statements are of my opinion. Like it or not gentlemen, everyone is allowed an opinion.

Next, if you guys want to talk to the dev team why not PM them?

That's not what they're saying. They're asking for proof of you asking the devs whatever questions you said you had asked (only to get a vague response).

Also brilliant video dtshalcyon, saw it over on WMD already. :)

I know what they are asking, :) what I have said from the beginning. I asked the dev team what was important to me. I would suggest, that those that want answers to the questions that are pertinent to them, is ask the dev team as I did.

Yes, but they are asking for your questions and the answers that came from the dev team; as to persuade the dev team where applicable. In other words, they want to make your solo effort into a community effort.

This at least was the intention of Felix and I am sure more people here. However, without any information from your side about said, 'correspondence with the dev team', this won't be possible.
