I will say this before I leave this thread, firstly, I can not believe how immature some posters in this thread have become. It's almost like I insulted your mothers or something. I have been accused of trolling this thread when clearly some of my statements are of my opinion. Like it or not gentlemen, everyone is allowed an opinion.

Next, if you guys want to talk to the dev team why not PM them?

You're a manager+ over at WMD are you? Put 1000 Euros or more in?

I know what they are asking, :) what I have said from the beginning. I asked the dev team what was important to me. I would suggest, that those that want answers to the questions that are pertinent to them, is ask the dev team as I did.

No @ SimonK he isnt, he is a 45 Euro Full Member. And this quote above is all lies, as anybody can see in his 66 posts strong post history at WMD. I hope he leaves this thread indeed and starts trolli... eh asking pertinent questions elsewhere.

To focus on something more positive: Fantastic trailer, halcyon! Just watched it 3 times in a row, glorious stuff!

Just as I expected. left888 just in case you were wondering why I asked you that, only managers and above can PM developers, so that does indeed prove you were lying about asking them your questions via that method.

SimonK

You can go and see for yourself, Simon. According to his membership level he is not apple to directly contact a dev via PM, so all his questions are accounted for in the post history (accessible via the profile).

This is his profile: http://forum.wmdportal.com/member.php?9478-Darren-McKenna

And this is my own profile (just so you know who I am over there as well): http://forum.wmdportal.com/member.php?8126-Christiaan-van-Beilen

Yep just confirmed that above but thanks for the links. I already assumed he was but his posts there clarify he is clearly an iRacing fanboy.

Wow such a nice thread before it was derailed by left888 :(

Define 'true sim' as a factual and quantifiable product and then let us know how pCARS won't meet that. Also, the underlined words of supposed importance don't link to any evidence?...

Plenty of people have had issues with low framerates and there are many solutions within the forum. A bit of searching should solve that.

Awesome trailer Halcyon, showing off the community talent :)

This thread (and the previous one that 'disappeared' :P) really is up there with the best quality pCARS threads around, and all because the content is people judging the game on it's merits and discussing it like an interested community. None of that 'hardcore sim, more real than real' rubbish, just good discussion.

Looks like Terronium is onto it anyway so we're in good hands :)

It is for hard core and casual racers alike. The base premise of the sim is to deliver a realistic driving experience on all levels. However, there are driving aids available, i.e. traction control, anti locking brakes, stability control, best driving line visuals, steering assistance and braking assistance. There are novice, intermediate and pro modes (the two last driver aids are only available in 'novice' mode).

While this should make it perfectly playable for all levels of virtual racers, it will not handle like typical arcade games, e.g. Burnout, Trackmania, NFS and so on. I dare say it'll be much more interesting if you're into cars and racing :)

Yes, halcyon made that trailer. Good thing is, we have another trailer genius at WMD by the name of JonZ, they both have a fierce but friendly competition to one-up one another with more and more amazing trailers... much to the benefit of pCARS, I must say! :D

I do not need to defend myself to you or any one else in this thread, choose what ever you want to believe. I don't feel any need to call you any names as you have or other members here towards me. I think I sense some jealousy here because you guys didn't have the courage to contact the dev's yourself because you don't know what to ask them. That's alright guys, just keep following along.

Clearly some of you need to be a lot more mature in your life's, sorting to list my comments and my accounts at pCARS and calling me names is so immature. I just checked, I am still able to PM the developers :)

You want to know if I am a iRacing fanboy? well I suppose I am, I race there 4 or 5 times a week. The best racers on the planet usually end up their sooner or later. Their are some folks that try it and find it to hard so they quit. I also play with pCARS and Race On, rFactor 1 & 2, GTR Evolution, Ferrari Virtual Academy, NetKar, F1 2011, Dirt 1,2,3, Sega Rally, Colin McRae Rally and those are just for the PC. I have all the usual titles for the consoles as well, so does that make me a fanboy for them all? How about you guys?

Good luck with pCARS guys, I hope you learn to handle positive constructive criticism and leave your personal feelings out of it. As I said before, I will report again on my findings in pCARS once the full release comes out, until then :)

My hero!

What? Oh nah, I m talkin bout halcyon who just received his second manager promotion for his awesome trailer work, not that left dude that supposedly left the thread a long time ago but keeps coming back to talk about how awesome his virtual self is or something.

805 euros away from the community having invested as much as SMS themselves. :)

I wonder if we get something to celebrate that milestone? :P

I would love any of those. Or maybe some rotaries from Mazda would be nice too for the drift branch of the game. :)
So many good cars still that we all would love to see in the game.

Personally I would like to see some tracks get their official licensing done as well. Would love to see more familiar names when looking at the track list in game.

Ps. It is down to 515 euros now.

Yes, Props to Jonz his last trailer was fantastic, I'm looking forward to his new one.

That last one drained me a little, but for sure will post future trailers here. :)

Oh yea and McLaren, we must have McLarens !

Speaking of tracks, if they were going to add any more tracks to pCARS which region of the world would you want they to be from? The current list is great but if there were more to be added I'd love to see some from Asia & South America, Australia maybe 1 or 2 more from the USA ( I know the US has a lot if you count the ovals) .

McLaren for sure and I still hope for a Porsche even if it is just a RUF yellowbird. They just have their own characteristics. Especially the old CTR like in this movie of a driver driving it on the Nordschleife.

Oh no, I did not mean more tracks. I mean I would like to see licenses for those tracks we have in already under a different name. So seeing Sakitto become Suzuka and Badenring become Hockenheimring, etc.

Though if I have to pick a track then it would be my local track, TT Circuit Assen. It is in no other game as far as I know, but Dutch supercar and other races are being held there. So that is still a personal wish.

So this track:

Also there are quite some tricky corners even though it looks flat and easy.
And then you get stuff like this...

Huge crash

And this one is just for laughs... still, would love to race like that when I am old and they took my license away. lmao

Assen is a great track, but if they are gonna add even more tracks, we definitely need some tracks from South America instead of Europe - Interlagos or San Potrero would be mindblowingly awesome and make a lot of sense in the context of the career mode.

Some more Aussie V8 tracks are also desperately needed, so far we have only 4 tracks confirmed in Asia/Oceania which is just not enough for a believable season.

That said, I dont think the track artists can make much more tracks than what is already on the task list. 2-3 more at max, if even that much.

This track is in GTR2 and rFactor ;) (2001 version though, but i love it !)

By the way about the direction of pCARS that uhm... recently was in question by some people in this thread, here is what Andy Garton had to say about it today:

Andy Garton: Just to make sure we're on the same page - the current direction for pCARS is 100% pure sim, nothing will be more accurate/realistic than us (at least, that's our goal). We firmly believe this doesn't exclude the mass(ish) market though, both through the use of appropriate optional driving aids and difficulty modes, class leading console gamepad support, and through recognition of the fact that simply driving a car around a circuit isn't that difficult (driving it really really fast is though!).

I do agree with you, Felix. The team already has their hands full indeed. Also in the same thread as your game directional quote came from, Andy said that no more tracks can be added due to time constraints. Hence, this track is just but a personal wish. ;)
I didn't know the track was in those. Don't have GTR2, but got rF1 and 2. Will check it out. Thank you, Dahlsim. And your name reminded me too that I still need to get a street fighter cartridge for my SNES. :P

Interlagos is a nice track and any Brazillian race fans would be very happy with that track. As well as many seeing it as Senna's home track that they just have to drive because of it, especially when it an accurate repoduction.

How are the current physics? The gameplay vids I've seen make them look a bit lacking.

Edit: Also I assume that the latest build includes everything that has been put into the game up to that point, not snippets of the latest content.

I'm enjoying it as it is, but it will get even better. I recommend spending EUR 10 and finding out for yourself. If you don't like it, you can get a refund if requested within a reasonable time. As you may have picked up, we're just about to get the first taste of a newly developed tyre model (within a few weeks).

Re. vids: those made from replays will not have the full details of the movements in them, AFAIK. Personally, I find it hard to distinguish and quantify the physics from gameplay (not replay) vids when the sims in question are on a certain level, i.e. I reckon it needs to be experienced and felt.

Well, the Junior members will probably take longer than that to get it, I doubt they'll drop the first pass in a monthly build. (also, does the current Junior build get the recent FFB tweaks? Cant remember when those landed.)

As for the physics, I can jump between the Lotus 49 (which is what I drive mostly in pCARS) and the Brabham and other 60s F1 cars in rF2 with very little trouble and without feeling like I need to adapt drastically. Its just like riding 2 slightly different bicycles...that are cars. Theyre both good, in my opinion.
