Just one thing Adrian; in the 80's, the camera pod was mounted on the left or right hand side of the engine cover, about mid-way down the driver's head, like this (about 1:14 onwards):

Too much reflection but nice pictures!

Not too much reflection for a new car, but I think it could need a dust layer that acts like a grey/yellow (sand and pollen of flowers) diffuse layer to remove the shine a bit. The clean car should look this though. Also we can't have worn cars as the license holders demand to have their cars in showroom condition, at least at the start of every drive. Making damage models already a big breaking point for some, let alone talking about worn cars. Even though race cars tend to be worn because of impacts with derby and crashes resulting in welding spots on the car and so on. But yeah... that is how it is basically.

I agree with you, but "Bathurst" on sunny/medium clouds conditions always reflect a lot! And the fact that the car is black, doesn't help as black color on cars reflects the most in real life as well.

I'm gonna lower reflections from ultra, down to medium and try it again!

I think adjusting the reflection changes the quality of the reflections, not the quantity. Try a different time of day, or overcast (I know that for realistic shots, that tends to be the preferred choice).

Project CARS video giving a lap at Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps under the rain with the Pagani Zonda R.

This has better rain than previous video but still not that intense as it is in GT5 and screen wipers still does do nothing to clean water from screen, they just move around. No actual water is removed. At least looks like it.

And it's still a relatively early version of the effect. The game is still a good 6-8 months off release, and probably about 2-3 months before the wet weather effect will be finalised (optimisation will take place after that). Also, bear in mind that was probably heavy rain, and the wiper blades are on the slower speed. There will be a faster wiper speed coming for all cars coming soon.

Most of the criticism of the game comes from having early versions of effects, whether they be visual, FFB or physics, without realising it is still going to take time to be finished. We have never been in a position like this before - to witness a game from the ground up, and every iteration of the game before release. Many people don't seem to understand that all this takes time.

Do tell. Maybe from how much it changed from the last rain video posted here, you could tell that it is still WIP-GODDAMN-P?!

- mist is not really implemented yet
- adrianF1 chose a car that has no rain mask yet (means the animations of water on the windows)
- puddles, drying up and reflections are just the second pass, means first step of improving after implementation
- spray is just the first pass
- dynamic drying line and puddle splashes are not yet in

If all this will be implemented and it still doesnt meet your high standards, then you can still go  until then, I repeat: It is still WIP-GODDAMN-P!

Somehow I'm not surprised its the same guy making the same complaint here. Responded to a similar post in the AC thread.

You guys still haven't realized that a game has to meet increasingly high standards (for some folks) if the badge isn't the right one?
