Impossible to say at this point whether one or another has some advantage.
But personally I would/will go with PS4, X1 has some more 'extra stuff' that I don't care about, which also reserve some resources IIRC.

Edit: Oh, and wheel support for X1 is pathetic.

I read a little about this on CarBuzz and they said there will be a livery editor in a later version of the game. Is this true? CarBuzz doesn't always have 100% accurate articles.

Anyway, this game is already enough for me to say I would gladly play this over GT. Everything looks so beautiful. Another important question is this: How bad are the system requirements? I do not want to miss out on another great game because I don't own a PC that can't handle a game of this magnitude.

EDIT: I should make myself more clear. I saw the requirements in the OP, but I'm not a computer guy. That stuff is a completely different language to me. Explain it to me.

The specs in the op are outdated as of now. Project Cars is a still developing game, the people you see playing are basically helping the developers by playing. If you really want to build a PC you'll be looking at $500 to $700 for this game. Just get together in the computer/technology section and ask for a bit of help. Depending on your budget you could easily build a reasonably priced computer to perform to your expectations.

Better organised race series? :odd:

I mean, sure, at the moment it might be true since pCARS multiplayer is nowhere near complete, but how shall you know for final judgement, as of now?

...Whatchu guys think? PS4 or "XBONE" ?
The one that turns out to support the most racing peripherals without artificial lock-ins or obsolescence, and I might add, the one with the most consumer friendly policies in general. And the one that best facilitates development of next gen games (one of the two has a stronger GPU and much higher (GDDR5) RAM bandwidth without a fiddly (ESRAM) crutch).

I will be going for the Wii U!

Who's with me!?

The Online Racing Association (TORA) got televised on Motors TV for 2 of there series, they use the Xbox system with Forza and they are very interested in this

:)

Project CARS was one of the things to convince me to go with the Wii U. What's your gamertag on the Nintendo Network? I don't have anyone on my friend's list yet. Mine is Wolfe2x7.

Mine is ClassicBrend! :D I will add you next time I am on, turns out that the Wii U blocks 3rd party Ethernet adapters once they check if it's official or not, so I will be trying to hunt down a official one ASAP.

So PC for you then? :D

I hope there is something big planned for E3, maybe a demo during the Xbox or PS4 presentation, it really could use the publicity and the game has so much to show off already

Yes!

If you're only going to have one system for racing, I'd recommend a proper gaming PC over a console any day, because of all the above points and more. Of course, some "need" a console to play console only titles. Personally I like to have both options available.

Not sure how console choices came into this thread. But considering the graphical leaps and emphases in Project Cars I would think the Nintendo Wii U would be the last console anyone would choose to play Project Cars. Lets not forget that the Wii U is closer to the PS3/Xbox360 in terms of computing power, the Xbone and PS4 are in a completely different league.

With that said, Project Cars is going to look pretty weak graphically on the Wii U compared to the PC/PS4/Xbone. I'd like a Wii U just to play the Zelda (and other Nintendo) games, but not for racing games... no thanks.

Great vid of normal photoshoot session :)

How do you even pull up this free camera screenshot mode?

Hit Ctrl-F repeatedly untill you're "free" :) (it's bugged a bit so it takes sometimes a lot of hitting that haha..)

Basic controls: QWEASD123456789+-* (no time to explain them all now.. there's a thread at wmd) F3/F4/F5 is focus depth control iirc. (correct me if I'm wrong)

*numpad

edit,

page up / page down too..

pCARS is currently showing off triple 4K screen gameplay at CES, using 4 NVidia Titans in SLi mode at the NVidia booth: http://www.virtualr.net/project-cars-4k-gaming-at-ces-2014

On the one hand I am considering whether pCARS on the PS4 might be a good idea, but on the other hand my current PC has more CPU and GPU power than the PS4, so I'd want to compare graphical quality between how pCARS alpha/beta looks on my PC and what the PS4 version will eventually achieve. I suspect PC will remain the correct choice....

In other news: The tyre model seems to be making progress. Using stock settings (i.e. no mucking around in config files or dev mode) the FFB and physics is becoming more comfortable and useable.

I am choosing the Wii U because it's the console I currently have, didn't like the idea of having a One or PS4 that has literally 1 game between them I want to play within the next year, so I opted for the U because it has more quality titles in my opinion at this current time, this is of course based upon the gameplay and not graphical girth. I would actually suggest you rethink what you are saying, because the team have been working on the PS3/360 versions for yonks and have jut recently jumped ship to their respective successors - it's very possible it could be a half-arsed effort because those 2 are still nowhere near the PC in terms of graphics. The Wii U version has been built from the ground up and could actually be a decent game, car porn or not.

SMS have risen in my developer 'power rankings' for going through with the Wii U version after all the fuss the console has caused regarding 3rd party developers, the joke will be on those who jumped ship when Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros highhandedly give the console a revival.

They had been working on PS3/Xbox 360 versions and dropped them, nobody knows what the game looked like on those consoles, or what it ran like. Project Cars is a heavily graphics emphasised game.. more so than any other racing game previously released and the Wii U is old hardware (it was when it was launched) and regardless of how good a job they do Project Cars will never look as good as it does on the PC/PS4/Xbone. The new consoles are atleast powerful enough that the game can stand up respectfully next to the PC.

Lets not forget that this is a multiplatform title, it's not like Gran Turismo 6 where it is specifically developed for that console and they use every trick in the book to try to get it running nicely and looking good. Don't get me wrong if you already have a Wii U then that's fine, but I'd never advise someone to go and buy a Wii U to play Project Cars.

Mario Kart 8 is cool if you like that thing but from what I've seen it's a bit of a rip-off of Sonic All Stars Racing : Transformed, and Super Smash Bro's is cool if you're into that thing but personally I never cared about it.. It seems like a series that has only become a big deal 10 years after it was relevant back on the Gamecube. I remember playing it when I was younger and it's a cool fighting game but nothing I would have rushed out to buy, and that was the general sense I saw in my social circles back then too, as for Brawl all I hear is that it's not as good as Melee, can't say I've tried it myself tho.

Still, I enjoy Nintendo games enough to want to play them and would like a Wii U eventually, but as a sim racer I wouldn't go near Project Cars on the Wii U with a 10 foot pole.

Yeah, If you had the option, you should always go for the better one! I just meant on the basis of my decision I am getting it for the Wii U. 👍

It's not the main choice but it could very well be great! That's also my point, SMS sound optimistic about how it is turning out, so much so that they didn't just scrap it. Not like they would be losing a lot of sales if they scrapped it. :)

Wow. The Zonda Cinque looks really smooth and planted in the turns. It just looks strange with the overhead intake protruding over the cockpit. o_O

Also, I've watched several videos of the Ford Mk IV, and I'm impressed, to say the least.
