What makes you think I don't do this as well as my posts here?. I post more on GTPlanet and am just talking about my experiences here, that doesn't mean I'm not posting feedback on the official forums.
I don't see any other members posting reviews in an open forum about the unfinished game. What's the point? The game isn't finished, the things you talked about probably aren't in their final state, so publishing a review of them here, for people who have no access to the game is...rather pointless is it not?

You might as well have said, "the game isn't finished, they're still working on it, here's some stuff that's still busted".

Exactly. 16 is probably the limit for MP, in solo races/career vs AI you will definitely have much larger fields on consoles. How much exactly can only be seen during the final optimisation work.

16 for MP is of course not great, but there are technical limitations at work that are seemingly quite hard to overcome.

Indeed. Their Le Mans announcement said 'race against a full grid of 55 competitors'. Nowhere it said that consoles would have smaller grids (for single player)

How is what I said in any way a review? Whoa, I've heard it all now.

Track optimisation varies pretty wildely
shadows being messy/jaggy and so many shadows being cast
unplayable framerates.
To go from perfectly playable to barely playable
but they are gonna need to work hard to optimise that.
Now do you see how it's a review...of an unfinished game?

Now do you see how it's a review...of an unfinished game?

It's not a review, it's my observations on the game in a thread discussing the game. Am I only to post positive thoughts and flattering videos in the thread?

Why is this so important to you that you would make a big deal over one person posting some thoughts on their experiences?

According to this: http://www.cinemablend.com/m/games/...age-Project-CARS-Featuring-16-Cars-64844.html

We console players are getting a ripped off version with only 16 cars. Absolutely pathetic.... Why can't Sony just make the consoles like PCs, it's not that hard. While PC gamers get to enjoy this with 64 car grids, us console players get to race with only 16 cars, ON A NEXT GEN CONSULE. I think SMS could have just made the aI not as high quality and we could have had a 64 car grid. My interest in this game just unfortunately went down to the doesn't give a flying 🤬 category. If only I had about $2,000 I could build myself a gaming pc. I already have a Mac Pro, if only the SMS was smart enough to make a Mac version...

Yeah ull have to get at least a £1000 computer to play it on medium-high graph setttings, and how much is a console??

The 16 car thing isn't a surprise at all. Once again, seems like people are misjudging the power of consoles pretty greatly.

With 16 cars on track, it may, may, be possible for the game to hit 1080p 60FPS though which would be fantastic news. I know SMS said they are aiming for that but to be honest that means nothing. TLOU Remastered edition was always said to be 'aiming' for 60FPS and it's releasing with 30FPS.

If you think people would have been ready to pay 1000 bucks for an high end console, keep on dreaming. Pcs will always be ahead of consoles. You build a new pc today and it is already old next month....
Same with consoles, buy it today and next month its a month old. I don't understand this PC obsolete logic.
I build a new computer or upgrade parts every 2-3 years or so. It doesn't become obsolete as it ages, it just "may not" be able to run the latest games at the highest settings but its not that you can't play everything. With the consoles the hardware is locked - what you have at original purchase will be what you have for its life. Example, you're not going to see the best Grid AutoSport with a PS3 or 360, with a two year old PC you have the option to pop in a new graphics cars and turn on the eye candy.
Basically, you get what you pay for. If you are not capable or don't like to dabble in technology then a console is an easy path to take. The PC world though gives you more options than you can throw a stick at.

It's likely (but not confirmed) to be 16 for multiplayer due to the power of the servers, not the consoles. Single player can see higher numbers, but it's unknown how much higher.

Because it is potentially damaging to the game? People who don't have access, looking for info, come across your wild and poor post. Of course there are issues, it's not even a beta yet.

Think before posting things.

Read my post again. I say it is impossible to give us an high end console with the latest hardware for 400 bucks. So stick with it that an pc is always better or build an 2k pc and play with a 64 grid.

16 cars with that graphics and 1080p 60fps seems pretty good for me for a 400 bucks hardware.

If 16 cars is the limit, then my enthusiasm for the game has dropped to zero. I can't afford to upgrade my PC to run this game on high settings, nor do I want to play a racing game on a tiny PC monitor, when I could be doing it on my 50 inch with proper surround sound...

For the entirety of the pre-release phase people all over the internet have been speaking freely of their positive and negative thoughts on the game and it's development process. Now suddenly it's taboo to post any obversations of the game that might be negative?

So we're to only paint a fake picture of optimism and flattery? The development is not really behind closed doors and entry was only cut off because of legal reasons. There is no NDA, there is no nothing on GTPlanet that forbids me from expressing my views. I think it's quite ridiculous that I have to defend myself for posting an honest and observational view on the game as I see it now.

"It's not even a beta" doesn't even remotely apply to Project Cars or even most modern games due to the way development is done. Observations are just what they are, observations... And this is a thread to discuss the game, not a thread to compliment the game.

But there is a NDA that you agreed to. Not saying you violated it, but there is one in place that you agreed to.

There is not a "Non-Disclosure Agreement". I agree'd to terms, I didn't agree to secrecy regarding the game. What people are essencially suggesting is that the game only be talked about in a positive light which is quite frankly ridiculous and helps nobody.

Something negative about the game? Keep it quiet.
Something positive about the game? Post pictures, videos and verses of praise..

Not gonna happen. What I don't understand is why now? Why now do people suddenly care about this? When the game has been in this development state for years (i've been there since the very beginning) and people have always talked about both aspects, positive and negative. But now there are knights in shining armour jumping out to shoot down anyone who dare say anything negative.

Really?

Not disagreeing with you about some of the attitudes hear about the game, but I am almost positive that there is a NDA in place.

Having a 16 or 32 car grid doesn't really make a difference for me.
I'm the opposite. Gameplay over graphics for me. Large car grids are much more immersive. I really thought it would be around ~24 for online. I was looking forward to large online multiclass racing, ala LeMans. Capped at 16 cars is very disappointing for me. I like large grid races. More cars the better, especially the Nurb and stock car races will feel deserted.

Actually, I don't really care very much about graphics either. But large grid sizes don't really enhance the gameplay for me. I'm only ever going to be racing several guys at a time, so having more than a dozen cars behind or ahead of me doesn't really make much of a difference.

Well to be fair I have been in 30+ car fields in Iracing and gone dozens of laps not seeing any cars, atleast not close enough to race with, on a 2 mile track.

Immersion, realism, fun factor, more challenge. Having more cars on the grid adds a lot. Fighting your way through the field. Especially online. The more cars to battle makes it that more enjoyable to me. A cluster of cars you have to use all your skill to overtake and keep it clean. And enduro's with multiclass cars to yield to. Just my opinion. Racing with 16 on the grid is like playing a soccer match 4v4 or football 6v6, just seems empty. Racing isnt just about turning fast laps, its also about jockeying for position, knowing your surroundings and keeping it clean in heavy traffic.

Dramaqueening much? I ve havent seen a post of you @ WMD in months and frankly your honest, observational view comes across as mostly uninformed. Doesnt sound like you invested time in setting up stuff properly and catching up on the state of things you tried. I mean, if you havent played pcars for month, you probably never even tried it with tire heat and wear before. Seems to me you just jumped into free practice and expected this beast of a car on cold 1980s tires (they only are pre-warmed in time trial mode) to be enjoyable out the box. Its been some weeks since I drove the Sauber the last time, but it wasnt as bad as you make it sound. Also a lot of the problems you mentioned can be adressed via setup.

And as a general note: It is fine imho to come here and say if things are not in a good state atm. Multiplayer for example is very hit-n-miss currently with a lot of disconnects and failed lobbys. But imho you should at least invest the time to check if your problems were discussed at WMD already and if not, discuss them there first, rather then just venting off externally because your experience wasnt all rainbows and cotton candy.

You know you can connect a pc to a tv? Or to your 5.1 receiver.

Same with me, except I very rarely if ever play anything online. That's why I like Codemasters' games so much, because they have really good AI that you actually have to fight with. But for me, at a point when you reach a grid with a certain number of cars, adding more cars just doesn't really add much to the experience anymore.

I just read back a few posts and I must have missed this, but 16 car grid is only for online apparently. I guess it doesn't affect me at all then, since I don't plan on playing online.

Because your post was only negative. For me, with no access to the game, it sounds like this game is the worst racing game in history when I read your post.

Online, with 70% crashing unfair mentally damaged morons, especially on consoles, you have to pass 11 morons on a 16 grid race and pass 22 morons on a 32 grid race.

I play online against 10 opponents in Assetto corsa and it is pretty competitive to even pass one of them when the field is full with good drivers.

You know you can connect a pc to a tv? Or to your 5.1 receiver.

I don't want to be bothered with setting it up to my TV, and setting it up to my surround sound won't change the audio quality that is in PC games. Or lack of the same.

Believe me when I say that there's zero difference between your average PC gamer mentality and your average console gamer.

To each his own 👍
I play offline and online, mostly online after I've put quite a bit of time offline, and to race real people, not AI (GT5 was no fun offline for me as the AI was subpar). I still want 20+ grids for online.

There are bad lobbies and good. I've raced in quite a bit of clean public lobbies online, as the host kicks dirty racers out. And there are private lobbies that are as clean as it gets. (Gran Turismo)

I have to agreed with you on this, i remember few weeks ago i download the latest build, did the settings as usual on my steering wheel and i went to a FPS on a gt3 car and i was like WT@# did they do to the car?? it felt like driving on ice i was spining out on every corner the eteering was really light like with almost no FFB. then i went to the logitech profiler and chane the spring force and it was like playing a diferent game, the FFB felt better and overall the car and the phisics felt really good.
So my point is you should really spend a bit of time setting up your game before jumping into conclusions.

My only complain so far is the graphics optimization for AMD cards and thats why it kind of piss me off when i read complains about the game on ps4 when it looks tons better than my £1100 rig. I kn its gonna get optimazed tho xD
