"...for approval request..."

Some manufacturers are very strict about what liveries a licensed vehicle can use.
Are they going to be added again after approval, or how do I need to interpret this? I can't imagine that they would drive around without liveries on them...

Don't know yet. For another brand some liveries had to be removed, but I think they got replacements (WMD livery Gurus will know more...)

I particularly enjoyed this slash at CM... :sly:

"Those guys in other games would have come on at the last stage as some of the marketing push. Like 'oh look we've got a Formula One driver, he loves the game'. But then we've got people like Ben Collins in from day one, because he notoriously hates these kind of games. We said 'right, you're exactly the kind of people we want, because if we can convince you that this is good, and you can help us by saying when it's 🤬, then we will fix it'."

I would take issue with one thing said in that piece......

"Let's break down the fourth wall, [involving a racing driver this closely with a game] hasn't been done before."

.....it has. Richard Burns was involved with RBR from day one and was just as critical, and the end result was a rally sim that still to this day sets the bench-mark for rally sims.

Your right. but I can't think of any other game in recent years that had the involvement of rbr or pcars.

Right. Business as usual. This week's build notes:

Please don’t rip me a new one, but when I saw this I immediately thought Ferrari 458 Italia Spider (But I know there are no Ferraris in PCARS). What are they referencing with this??
Build 952 (10/03/15) - MB

* Fix for 458 Spider wheel not appearing (WMD-6110)

Morning all :)
Any of you WMD members have laptops etc you could test cars on? I'm thinking of buying a laptop to play this on and it's an x4 i5(t) variant and an 860m.

Anyone got a laptop with an 860m and able to try cars out and see if i should pull the trigger or not?

Things I'd be Interested to know are what settings are required to get 1080/60 with an 860m and what does it run like when on highest (ultra) :)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but the benchmark on the 860M is 1608, which is slightly below the recommended bare minimum HD 5770 benchmark of 1684. You might be able to run a single car with no weather and settings on minimum. :guilty:

It's not going to be that bad because the CPU will be able to help carry it a bit, but I wouldn't expect much beyond 10 cars at low-medium settings, no AA or weather. Switching things off like detailed shadows, reflections, blur, post-processing filters, detailed grass, etc., will really help you out.

Ya, not that bad. I use a Dell M4600 with a AMD Firepro M5950, which is the professional version of the 6770M. that gives me a number of ~1000 on videocardbenchmark.net. I am able to play the game at 1080p, low settings, no AA and get between 20 and 40 fps, which puts it in the Driveclub FPS territory :-)

Ahh that's a shame :(
Could have snapped up a decent deal on it... I only considered it because it was the equivalent to a 750ti which I though was higher than the minimum spec for cars.

Dammit.
Ok so I'm on a very very very tight budget as I dropped close to 2k with fanatec recently, so what would you recommend Is the lowest spec that could get me 1080/60 on med/high?

I thought a x4 3ghz i5 and a 750ti was enough, but according to the above that will get me 1 car on low settings with no weather :-0 I need a serious rethink lol :)

It shows here as being the same as a 750ti (GPUBOSS)
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-860M-vs-GeForce-GTX-750-Ti

Any ideas on the absolute budget side of things that would get me 1080/60 med/high on a laptop.
Cheers for the advice so far :)

Is there a certain reason why you are eyeing for a laptop? A desktop is much more bang for the buck and frankly just a better experience. I have a XMG P502 gaming laptop as my only computer since two years and I have to say I wouldnt buy another gaming laptop again. Worst of both worlds as it is so bulky, loud, expensive, fragile (sent back to shop 2 times for repairs already plus an exchange keyboard I installed myself and yet there are already parts failing again now that the warrenty is expired) and still not very fast compared to the average desktop. It is like owning an 80s supercar, sometimes it is kinda awesome occasionally, but just very annoying most of the time.

Mainly because it's cheap (second hand)

I can use my fanatic wheel and rims on it to play pcars by hooking it up to my living room TV. As currently my 2 rims and base won't work with consoles until new rims are released.

So it will basically be a project cars machine and maybe a few cheap older games too. I can't afford to build a pc right now as I just dropped £2000 on fanatec gear. I have to do this in stages as I can't drop 4kin over a few months on games lol she will ****in leave me! :)

So I got my rig a few months ago, as I can use this with consoles etc for now (plus I had an invite and didn't want to waste it) now I can grab a super cheap laptop that I can sit next to my XBO/PS3 in the living room and play Project cars with my 2 existing rims (no need to buy the XBO rim right away), it's not available yet anyway, rumours suggest a March announcement with a sept release/arrival.

So for the price of 1 rim I can buy a laptop, slam on pcars and sone cheap steam sales and use that with my fanatic kit, hooked up to my tv until I save enough for a better pc (Xmas). It'll be my little sim laptop for games like cars, dirt, grid auto sport etc.

According to YouTube some 860ms get 50/60 fps in battlefield 4 high and metro last light high. It'll do tomb raider high and grid auto sport ultra at over 60fps too? So is pcars really that much more demanding than grid autos port ultra?

It seems that the 860m is advertised as being faster than a 750ti by everyone/everywhere... But that 1 benchmark States otherwise? I'm confused lol
