I've been waiting for Project CARS for about 2 years now as well. However, I've really been waiting for it for 13 years, ever since I played GT3 & started getting frustrated with it.

Oh joy, looking at my storage management it looks like PCars did preload! Yesssss! I'm just waiting while the D1P downloads and I'm good to go. Thank goodness the game did preload because the patch has taken over 40 mins for just under half completed on a 100mbs fibre connection.
Edit: someone mentioned the day one patch is only 817mb and what's downloading atm is 3.8gb, so I reckon it must be the modified pack and limited edition that is downloading and it was the core game only that preloaded.
