Thanks. :) Oh and...

;)

Oh 🤬!!!

I can't wait to see the final form of the car. I'm going to take a random guess it's either a RGT (911 GT3) or a RT12 (911 Turbo or GT2). But I hope they will add a CTR Yellowbird though.

Would be a real shame if they can't implement La Sarthe.

I hope they can get it. Besides, they have LMPs and maybe some Group Cs prototypes, so they have to find a way to obtain the license.

They may get better yet. Evaluate again in a year. :D

How about evaluating in about 7 to 14 days. A new AA option coming soon called DS2X and DS4X. DS = downscaling. So DS2X will be 2x width of your set resolution, and DS4X is 2x width and height of your set resolution. ;)

Good bye jaggies, hello realism (I have seen a WIP shot already).

Not only that but it seems like Sms studios doing something polyphony digital couldn't for years. They focus also on simulation site of their game not only on how it will looks.

Both looks and driving physic are now spot on 👍 Literally can't wait for final release.

This is not Gran Turismo. Quality over quantity.

I understand what SMS is doing with PCars and won't be similar to GT and FM, but I would love to see how would SMS do with other cars in terms of sound, handling and performance, especially after what I saw with the most talked about cars (E30, Hyura, SLS, M3 GT, the Focus and the Z4 GT.)

I see they have great potential with this game and even push it if they can. I can't wait to get it myself, even if they don't have a RB26, LS7 or a 4L V8 with turbos pushing over 1000hp, I'll still buy it regardless.

That's good news to me. Now I two sims with the mighty Yellowbird now. :D

Now SMS, show me what you guys can do with Subaru, Nissan, Toyota, Dodge, Chevy, Ford, Koiengsiegg etc...... ;)

The cars they add are directly related to a series that could be used in a career mode. They are not just including random cars.

Also like said earlier. Quality over quantity is the aim here.

Hello a quarter of the framerate, more like.

Not really. "8core Macpro (16 threads, 2.93ghz) with an ATI 6870. FPS was 34-37." With the first try to get this working. In other words, the buggy version with no optimization. ;)

You've got to bear in mind SMS are a LOT smaller than PD. PD have around 40 vehicle modellers IIRC, SMS have around 6 by my count. So with that in mind you really can't expect them to knock out as many cars as PD although they're already doing a great job thanks to them working much faster than PD whilst creating more detailed models (their claim, not mine).

As for the last part well you should know there will not be any performance modifications at all in this game.

I'm guessing SMS are aware of the Capri's odd relationship with Armco and other trackside objects, right? And the flickering cockpit... I seem to recall that being a problem way back in the day so I guess it's on the list of things to fix, along with the dashboard clocks being blank!

Apart from that, I can't believe how good this game is getting. I tried the kart earlier on Glencairn East, the first couple of laps I couldn't work out what I was doing wrong but then it sort of clicked and I was sliding around corners all over the place, it was great. Then I tried the Caterham on the same circuit, it's difficult to do a legitimate lap in it because of the extremely tight chicane (where you can basically go straight on, but you have to cut across dirt to do so) but you can get some great slip angles going.

Comparison of graphics and sound between GT5 and Project CARS. This is a lap to Suzuka circuit in the rain with the Pagani Zonda R.

I totally agree, this is a FANTASTIC video and something I was very interested to see. I'd love to see more of these from you.

The amazing part of the video is to consider that GT5 was one of the first ever PS3 games in development, and PD didn't have the PS3 programming advances made by GG, ND, QD Santa Monica and others at their disposal, and that aside from sound and particle/light interaction obviously, it's impressive how well GT5 hold up to a game that's not coming out for another 6 months.....though a game I understand hasn't had it's final coat of polish applied. But still.....for what is basically a 7 year old engine (or 4 depending on how you look at it), it's impressive.

Great video. If you waited a couple days, you would've had the wiper mask on the Zonda R too. I just noticed that GT5 will change the rate of the wiper movement.

Not only that, but the rain in GT5 is influenced by the wind direction.
The video is good, it shows how great both games look.

Now I understand where everyone is coming, and I'm in shock that SMS is smaller than the guys at PD! So I won't expect to see some intriguing cars and tracks, but I'm impressed with these guys and behind them all the way.

Even back in the days of GT1 and FM1, I wanted to see more cars and tracks and more features, I was impressed with the excellent work from PD and T10, true story.

And having no tuning nor performance mods ain't going to stop me either. I still drive cars without any heavy modifications on GT and FM and I still enjoy it.

I keep asking for a change in the road texture, but I don't know if it's that or something to do with the shaders but in Adrian's video I think both games are pretty much on par with eachother, I just prefer the look of the road and atmosphere in the GT5 side.

The track is also layed out better and much closer to iRacing's scanned version.

Seems it looks the best when it rains, daylight doesn't seem as realistic as it should be yet.

but wow the car models

Stunning shots Chromatic, any chance for another video (Puppy eyes)

Thanks chaps

Yeah, mid day is the least convincing and hardest to get right, not sure if I've seen any game get close to the intensity without it looking cartoony. the other way some like is to desaturate and make it look like some poor qualty video camera footage but ends up looking rather bland after a short while

Probably do a new vid soon

Being inspired by all the talk of XID input vs. HID input in this thread:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=272735&page=6

What do you guys think will be the more popular console for pCars, PS3 or 360?

I just got to thinking how the PS3 has a better selection of wheels than Xbox, and while most people will be using gamepads anyway, could sway some to PS3, if they have both of course.
