I don't see any FFB in that video, possibly a lot of lag as well.

Certainly the driver looks like he's turning a long time before the car seems to.

I wonder if that's why we don't see a cockpit view.

And oh dear, those white PS4's hurt my eyes. Will stick with the dark side.

I'm afraid that all these 3rd party devices look rubbish so far and I can't see how any will ever perform properly. I won't be wasting my money on them.

I find it comical how Sony's 'security chip' is still bypassed by a dongle. Really secure Sony....good job. 👍

Obviously it's a security chip and nothing at all to do with product licencing.

As it stands, I haven't purchased a PS4 game for about 6 months or more now, I'm so ****ed off with Sony that I really don't want to give them anymore of my hard earned. I feel bad enough that they're ripping me off with Playstation Plus membership. If it wasn't for COD I'd cancel it too.

These next gen console's are quite simply money making machines, the love for creating nicely polished games and giving the gamers what they want has gone. Put simply, we're forced to pay for everything two or three times over now, and for what? The games are no more enjoyable than Super Mario Bros, they are often incomplete or contain multiple bugs/glitches and I can guarantee that no matter how many so called 'security chips' Sony want to implement, there will always be people hacking the console's and games.

Well Sony, I'm not bending over so that you can rape me anymore. I have a Logitech G27, I won't be forced into buying another wheel (and stand) by you and your racing games will not be purchased by me until MY wheel is made compatible.

On a slightly brighter note, I have hooked my wheel up to the PC and I'm happily playing Euro Truck Sim 2. Ok I have the graphics turned down, but I'm still enjoying a chilled gaming experience and it doesn't cost me any additional money to play. :P

I understand your frustration but please don't compare the brutality of rape to a mere company making money. It's simply not comparable. Thanks.

A figurative butt rape under the pretext of a "security chip", but 'hey you can buy a thrustmaster for an additional 400 bucks or an extra rim for your clubsport for the same amount no worries'..

I sort of want others opinions on this,

Does anyone see a mid range wheel from thrust master anytime soon? I'm curious because I have a g27 like most of the people on this forum, and I justified the $225 I paid for it.

I can't justify >$300 for another wheel...... but I don't want to spend <150 on a junk t80/t100

If there is never a suitable solution for my g27, (knock on wood) I can't play pcars on controller, and I won't pay over 400 for a t300 when I hear they have reliability problems.

Pay over 400 for a pc and keep your G27, it really is the best option come 2015 if you like racing games. Eventually you'll recuperate the money as steam games are a lot cheaper and you don't have to pay 60 for playing online each year. Console like gaming pc's like the alienware alpha look very promising and there will be more to come like that soon.

Or look out for a good deal for the T300 and sell your used G27 on ebay. The difference was "just" 90€ for me. The T300GTE is also much cheaper than the T300RS and is basically the same wheel with a Ferrari logo and different layout of the same buttons.

Only downside, besides the reliability issues lots of people are having, is the pedals. They are definitely a step back from the G27s, about the same level as the DFGT pedals.

I'm holding out that Logitech wheels will work on PS4 at some point in the future, either through direct support (when Thrustmasters monopoly rights expire) or through a genuine 3rd party dongle (like the Titan One for instance). I won't be buying a PS4 otherwise.

Logitech won't work. It'sad for i have a DFGT that works wonderfully but we have to face that for those peripherals to work Logitech would have to buy devkits and aquire rights to develop drivers that would then be distributed to all software houses freely. That is a cost for someone that choose to quit and wouldn't help their sales at all.

It won't happen with Logitech choosing to leave us in the cold by quitting console hardware. So blaming Sony is useless. I'm pretty sure all wheels can work on ps4 if the company bothers to pay for a way to get support (getting license and devkits). Thustmaster did, and that is why their non chip upgraded peripherals do work.

Still i hope by all my heart you are right for i would prefer not having to dish out for a new wheel when PC on ps4 is out.

For some reason I've never really wanted to get a PC for gaming... just never got into the idea. And thrust master doesn't list the t300 gte wheel for us sale

It's not for everyone that's for sure, the learning curve can be steep, the road can be bumpy, but if you're really into racing sims the variety is tremendous and the cost of the games is cheap. Plus no online fees for gaming...yet. PCars may be the first game on console truly worthy of being called a sim and I think that gets a lot of the fanboys of other games in a tizzy:sly:...but offers one the opportunity to have a true, comprehensive sim racing without a PC for the first time.

Yes, you're right but remember that we are in a gran turismo forum and almost 90% of the people here will want to play gran turismo.. and the only way is ps4. Is like proposing in an Uncharted forum to buy a xbox. However pc is better since ages, mainly due to modding. F1 codemaster games or even shift2 unleashed modded on pc are insane!

We're actually in the PCARS forum which will be released on all 3 platforms ;)
Anyway i get where you are coming from, i bought a PS2 for GT3 and a PS3 for GT5. Won't be fooled again though after last generations fiasco and PD desperately loosing their touch with reality, especially since that little security chip renders my gear useless (and so far i have invested 600 euros in the fanatec store to get that nice setup).

*sigh*

All I can do is sigh in frustration. It's truly remarkable that Sony doesn't realize that their pushing away the very crowd they are advertising Thrustmasters for. If I'm not mistaken, most of us have setups that come close if not at least equal the cost of a PS4 console itself.

And if not, you can easily build one yourself (there are several cases available that will fit the most powerful hardware, keep it cool and keep the Mrs. happy because they also look awesome under the TV). I know I did. :D And with technology like Steam In-Home Streaming you can even be more flexible. 👍

we are a non significant % of the market. sony is probably making more money from Thrust agreement than me you and the other guys here buying the console. ..morever at the end we all know that half of the people here will buy the wheel for gt7.

yes, do we think that thrustmaster or sony are stupid? if they made it they will make money out of it. Just look at the forum here, at beginning was " no logitech, no ps4", now is "is better t300 or t500?" Me too, i went mad cause i had a logitech, now i'm looking for t300.. i simply whant the game and can't resist. (off course i made money from selling logitech and ps3).

I won't, with those next gen controllers being improved i'll just settle for those. If you can map the buttons to your liking it's almost as much fun + you have the advantage of 'pick up and play' each time.

My wheels will be put to work on a gaming pc on the side, for true racing sims ;)

Weel so far I have been loyal to my word, I haven't considered buying another wheel and I can't see me doing so in the near future either....I shall resist. :D

On a slightly related note; I needed a new keyboard for my PC today and I specifically avoided buying anything made by Logitech. So at the very least, Logitech have lost a few more £ due to the issue between them and Sony. Okay, so what if I'm only 1 person out of millions of customers, I refuse to give them more money.

Same here. In fact, I bought a cheap G25 off ebay, & am gonna be keeping it as a spare in case my G25 dies.

Good man. 👍

I actually had to buy a new gaming headset the other day too. I needed a good one for the PS4, but I didn't get a Sony one. I got a Turtle Beach PX51. It's not totally wireless (chat cable from headset to the ds4), but still a damn good headset and Sony didn't get a penny.

That's funny. I thought the argument was that's it's "unfair" to force players to spend more money on a new wheel. So, you resist the man by buying another outdated toy?

That'll show 'em!

The G25 is a good wheel, it's most certainly not an outdated toy.

I did not buy it to "show 'em" as you so eloquently put it. I chose to buy it because I wanted to, not because I was being coerced into buying it, as is the case with the Sony & Thrustmaster exclusivity deal. I've already decided to keep my G25 & not buy a PS4 unless it's supported. Buying a back up is just common sense, as I'm very happy with the performance of the G25, & my wheel is not gonna last forever.
