Project CARS - Logitech Wheels NOT Supported on PS4

I have plugged my G27 into the PS4 4 times and watched it calibrate everytime, but still no support for PCars. Such a bummer. If it calibrated why not make it work?

It's in all of their best interests to support the players so they can individually sell consoles, games, and wheels.

Sorry to sound negative, but how exactly are 'they' [Logitech] going to sell more wheels ?
Its a well documented fact that Logitech stopped production of console peripherals in 2013 and left that market. If you buy a G27 or DFGT today it won't be from Logitech, but an independent reseller who has what's called new-old stock laying around.
Logitech won't benefit from increased sales of a line they no longer make, so why would they pay out for development of drivers and licence fees when they wouldn't recoup anything ?
It'd be like a car manufacturer spending money upgrading the FM radio in a car they no longer produce to a DAB capable one for those who bought it before the 'new tech' came along, it just doesn't make economic sense does it !

Logitech make wheels for computers, which also work on some consoles.

Hmmmm I didn't know that. How do we know that Logitech has sold all of its inventory though? I'm just curious if you know that as well.

The racing game developers still have an incentive to try to get the wheels compatible if the they see enough lost sales. If SMS is in this market for the long haul and they can put together a deal to make it work, that would be a huge PR win for them. But with that in mind, I'll change my previous estimate to 10%

I was gonna say the same thing. This explains why Logitech would put the pressure on Sony. Well then it's only right we put the pressure on Sony, because it seems Logitech has no incentive to move any farther. :(

The G27 & G25 wheels are PC peripherals, not console peripherals. Logitech are still making them, & selling them.

I've 'voted' for the petition on Sony's website, messaged both Sony and Logitech and will just have to wait and see what they say now, if anything. The petition is number 2 on PS4's support site so surely Sony see that and the 20 something thousand votes along with it and want to sort something out?

Rubbish. They are for sale on the official Logitech website.

So, if they're still selling them, why haven't they got console compatibility sorted yet ? If the G27 and DFGT are still being produced, it's in Logitech's best interest to gain compatibility with next gen consoles.
It doesn't make sense that they're not actively seeking compatibility with next gen consoles ? Maybe the cost of licencing is too prohibitive to justify the outlay ?

They are still selling them because there are no compatibility issues for P.C. users.

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't read your post properly

BS for many already had a PS4. Also how the F-word would you pile up to 1200? maybe wasting 500 on hookers? :D

Well buddy if you had actually kept reading instead of replying to the first post you saw, you would've seen the prices we are charged in NZ, until someone corrected me. But seeing as you called me out in such a polite way, here's the run down champ.......PS4 $500 + T300RS (corrected price) $525 = $1025 NZD now if I wanted the pedal upgrade that's another $300 NZD. Damn even if I had a PS4 but needed new T300 wheel, wanted pedal and shifter upgrade too, that would cost us near $1200 NZD.
That means I have $0 for hookers ;)

I hope for you guys it happens but my impression is that it's going to be like the custom tracks on GT6: if it ever happens, it will be too late because most people will have moved on.

E3 is only a month away and could offer an adequate platform/opportunity for an official announcement...

It could, but I somehow doubt that they (Sony) would make this announcement at E3, because the situation is a blunder and embarrassing.

With all due respect to Ian because I can't wait to drive what his team has created, but everyone has been very patient. For about a year now.

Well, according to the UK store http://www.playseatstore.co.uk/logitech-g29.html it is coming soon, but look at the price
Plus, the G29 shifter is.......WOW, nearly a grand for a plastic wheel and pedals plus an undisclosed shifter !!!!
Makes the T300/T3PA/TH8A look cheap in comparison ! With luck, if this G29 is legit, the G25~27 will also gain compatibility ?

I might even sell the T300 I just bought and buy back my G25 if that is the case.

That may be a bit of a hasty decision if you ask me ! There's no concrete proof that a G29 is indeed going to be released, and even less that the G25 or G27 will gain compatibility off the back of it.
Also, would you really want to change back to a 6~7 year old design wheel when you have a shiny, new, fully PS4 compatible wheel ? I still have my old DFGT, but I sure wouldn't change back from my T300 now after feeling the superior FFB it gives over the Logitech.

@thegt500 maybe it's because I haven't used it yet (will by next week) but I know I'll miss the third pedal and shifter (and to be honest I wouldn't have bought it had the G25 been compatible in the first place (and I got a good deal on it)
