I'm totally over the delay now after my initial annoyance. I'll just get back on YouTube for my regular pCARS fix for another few weeks. got a small backlog of games at the mo, Bloodborne out very soon, so all in all I'm now content to wait it out and get a class product at the end.

now, if the posts get moved from May... well, I don't even want to think about it :scared:

The rumour is the delay is caused by the XBone not having the "guts" to run this at 60fps/1080P so why not release for PS4? That is, apart from politics and MS getting it's knickers in a twist and who amongst us would not ultimately enjoy seeing that? I know I would :-))
Assuming this is true for the moment, it would also be reasonable to assume that there is some contractual obligation to release them all simultaneously, since releasing for one console earlier than the other would give it an unfair advantage and could affect console sales, however slightly. The Wii could easily be an exception because it doesn't really compete directly with the other two consoles.

Rumour hey? Please link us to one credible source that this could be true. Oh they haven't shown any XB1 footage + delay = they can't get it to run on XB1, 1+1=3. The fact is you don't know reason for the delay, I don't know the reason, the only people in the entire world who know are the SMS crew. Maybe it's not a technical issue at all, it could be licenceing issues? It could be a million things! Comments like yours don't help anyone, we are all disappointed with the delay, there's no need to pour petrol on BS forum rumours.

Cheers

If there was a credible source and we could name them, it would be a fact, not a rumour. Because rumour.

So SMS recon that the game is 99.9% finished and they want to polish it some more. Sounds legit to me BUT aren't they setting themselves up for a HUGE fall when it is finally released and it still has bugs?

What game have you bought in the last two years that did NOT require some huge download as soon as it was installed?

I think this last delay will have damaged the brand and another delay will probably finish it. You can only mislead/lie/con/misrepresent/deceive/procrastinate/tinker/**** with/ (chose your own word) for so long before you lose all credibility with your customer base. Drive Club found this, I (and others) cancelled our pre-orders and never went back.

1.)Exactly!
2.)Exactly!!
3.)highly doubt that's true, if it is.. Even more worrying for the WiiU crowd!!!
4.)Exactly!!!!

That rumour could well be the truth. As has been stated Microsoft have released another core on the egg box to help it and we all have also read how the Pcars Devs are very impressed with how the PS4 is holding up. Read between the lines There all rumours but add them together what do you get LOL

Im sure we will found out soon enough.

You asked for answers twice and got them. We're not talking about opinions, you wanted to know why T10 didn't delay games and SMS did. When you got answers you didn't like you said you didn't understand them and then turned around and made it about me, which you are doing again here. Not sure how anyone could not understand 10x the budget and 4x the staff and a smaller game makes it easier to meet deadlines but making it personal about me isn't going to do you any favours. If you don't want answers or are not going to accept them when you get them, stop asking questions, just post your opinion and you are free to fly off the handle and throw your toys out of the pram like some others seem to want to do, which you seem to be very good at.

Again, because I continually have to point out the obvious, no one is happy about the delay and we all realize this isn't doing SMS any favours and yes it would have been better to have a release schedule and stick to it. In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet. However, the game is delayed, there are reasons for it obviously otherwise it would have been released. SMS isn't getting a "pass", just an explanation.

Throw my toys out the pram? Baaahahahahaaa.... that's actually pretty good, I'll give you points for that. 👍

I believe they've done themselves a huge disservice by releasing that PR piece. It's bound to cause backlash to some extent once the game is released and bugs/glitches still appear.

D.O.A? Wouldn't bet on it.

Games companies can't win nowadays. If you releas a buggy game, it gets called broken and there a backlash. If they release a game after several delays they get a backlash for the delays. It's a no win situation.

However ignoring gta online we generally think of rockstar as a devolper that produces high quality bug free games. This has happend due to them sometimes taking the hard choices and delaying. They won't release a game there not happy with. Thats why the gta5 is being delayed multiple times. Same goes for naughty dog they delayed the last of us no one is moaning saying they shouldn't have delayed it.

Ultimately if you take pride in your work and release a non buggy game nowadays will pay off in the long run.

It's better to be remembered for your quality than the number of games churned out.

Maybe we could get lucky and receive a small demo of Project Cars.
A small completed portion of the game.
A single track, offline, with a simple car. Just enough to play around with.

We could use it to fine tune our wheels.

Just a thought.
Been mentioned numerous times. No demo. Too expensive, too time consuming, a cumbersome process on console etc.

that would be nice of them to give a demo for us to play around in

Sorry but can you please stop the bitching? Yeah the delay sucks but rest assured that SMS hates it as much as you do and that they didnt do it just to annoy you. They make mistakes like everyone but they (and us members) dont deserve to get ridiculed after all the hard work that was put in during those last 3.5 years.

SMS doing as majority want and not releasing another exact date until they know they will make it this time.

Yeah I'm done being frustrated with it now. It'll come when it comes. Shame the T300 can't be used in anger yet but hey it'll be there when the game is ready.

Rather have a game as perfect as they can make it, than have it come with bugs that would really aggravate.

Have some crow pie to go along with this official Xbox One footage

(oh and Ride has been delayed, grab your torch and pitchforks!)

Best solution is hold off on stating a release date unless it is something like "in the next 8 months"

You have to set a release date in order for the distributor and marketing people to do their jobs.

Yeah, but this can be handled internally, you do not have to make a public announcement.
Delaying games is common practice right now, either for creating the hype or what so ever. Making me sad :).

"It's done when it's done." - Thats what I would like to hear (or to get a proper project management system). Creating a game in close communication with the community and afterwards upsetting all buyers. Bit risky in my opinion...
