Project Cars 2 had great potential but was abandoned after abut 14 months of updates/patches. Frankly not good enough. It was still awash with problems on PC, with even more issues on console, but they just walked away from it anyway.

For that reason I don't think I'll be spending any money on GTRevival until I see some evidence of long term support - so I might consider purchasing it a couple of years after release.

Awe come on you don’t want to miss out on when a game is in good working order do you? haha. I remember call of duty did an update like a year or two after release and it completely broke the one zombies map. We just couldn’t load it up anymore our PS3’s would black screen like the power went out and it’d have to boot up just like the power went out with the system on hahaha

I hear you though, everything nowadays is “we’ll just fix it in the mix” mentality.

Moderation is not for public discussion, for the pretty obvious reason that only the staff and the individual concerned are aware of any moderation action and because discussing it literally misses the point of what moderation is for. However:

Nobody has ever been banned from GTPlanet for "just giving his opinion" except where that opinion also breaks the site's Acceptable Use Policy - such as the opinion that the site staff's children should be murdered, which has been expressed on several occasions (but not by this user) - and once sufficient chances to not do that have been used up.

You can assume therefore that whatever this person did is not "just giving his opinion" (especially as the opinion is still there and not removed or edited, therefore not breaking the AUP) and then get on with your life.
Fair enough, thanks for the clarification still, good to know.

Lister Storm, Ferrari 550, talk of Vipers and others, the game is maybe looking to have a fair bit of GT1 content. If they can get the sounds of those cars right, take my money now. 🙂

Being a little more focused than Pcars, I'm all for that. Reading between the lines, possibly not having any GT3s either. I can live with that too, there's other games for those.

That write up on straight4 of today 5th September is starting to get me giddy.

Saleen s7, vipers, jaguar xjr9, maserati...
Hope for a good mix of classic cars and classes. And tracks.
🤞
Yes, please put max effort on car sounds, inside and outside, and on replays.
Much more than graphics.
Even sounds of other cars in race while in cockpit,,in 3d with headphones.

If they’re smart they’ll have like 5 groups of about 10 cars in each group that are competitive with each other.

GT1 (Lister etc)
Group 5 (zakspeed capri etc)
Can Am (917/30 etc)
Trans Am (69 camaro etc)
80’s IMSA (Celica etc)

Just imagine "sitting" in that V12 Lister looking around while blipping the throttle. And during a race, well..!!
Tim Allen GIF

Wonder if that level of enthusiasm will carry through all the way to release.
It really was an in-depth article, very interesting. It'd be good if that information was somehow integrated into the game. With a bit of background info they'd be more than just old race cars. There's a suggestion for Mr Bell.

Nice list. But you're really trying to forget those 90s British touring cars again aren't you. 😄

The game could be shaping up to be all the SIM we need©. :mischievous:
Sorry, let's not start that again.

Must have slipped my mind! You know what, my list only included like 50 cars so what the heck toss in ten 90’s British touring cars. Why not.

The one thing I hope they let us do is create our own liveries. Even if it’s simply changing colours on predetermined decals. It helps make the car feel like it’s yours and if everybody wants to run the same car it’s not a bunch of purple jags in the replay. I remember project cars was like that sometimes, which car is which kind of thing. ACC you just pick a predetermined livery and roll with it, much better when you can create one.

I don’t care if we can tune like in GT7 putting different parts on etc, that really just throws a wrench into the mix trying to make balanced close racing, which imo should be their job not our job ensuring the cars are equal in performance.

I actually really liked what they had going on in PC3, to be honest. Not that I played it a ton but it was a highlight.

Never played it at all. What did they have going on?

*Nvm googled it, yeah that would at least be enough to differentiate between cars. Having a basic shapes editor for decals would be nice instead of preset patterns but I’ll take what I can get, something is better than nothing.

Yeah, I've used the one in Forza a ton, and many, MANY moons ago did stuff for RFactor, the PC3 one was just nice to use because you could get a pretty decent and believable looking car in pretty short order. If I recall, you could make a "team" livery and port from car to car? Could be wrong or mis-remembering.

That’s a good idea with being apple to apply from car to car. I love the customization of GT7 but that was one feature I thought would be nice, got a nice paint job here, let me apply it to my other cars and change the color(s)

You could definitely make "team" liveries in PC3. I have a few saved that I will use when I'm being lazy. So I would definitely love something like that in this game.

Could this game choosing Unreal 5 mean it might be the first to let us race in every major city in the world? Might only get used for Australian Supercars city tracks if it's strictly a sim, but with mods I'm sure users would add everywhere else... Had seen many expecting New York for the upcoming Forza, but some suggested it'd be a huge map to make and isn't in the launch list. This video suggests just 'hours' for NYC in UE5 and shows an early looking working driving game example:

Short attention span? Rampant ADD? Dislike for anything that requires a few laps of practice? :D
But seriously, VIR is wonderful. These are usually the same people that say the Nordschleife is overrated.
