I own both version of fight night, and the PS3 version looks better. The 360 version has WAY too much blooming, and the contrast is insane, not to mention the PS3 has better facial animations and face ripples.
The PS3 also has better texture work and the minor details (like sweat, tatts, muscles) look better on PS3 as well. However, there are some occasions where slowdown occurs, generally when both fighters are throwing massive amounts of punches, though this RARELY happens. VERY rarely.
Hmmm, Gamespot must have seriously just chosen the best and worst screen shots because they make out that it totally sucks on PS3 but ofcourse I going to believe someone who has the game on both systems over some website.
About the blooming and contrast, sometimes that can be a good thing to create a slightly surreal atmosphere, like if you want it situation to be intense or scary then having things like overbright can be the best thing to make you feel more immersed in the game, however these types of effects are more suited to FPS and RPG's which are more fictional rather than a sports sim but I get your point.
Those who have no allegiance (I believe I may fall under this category as I am getting a Wii and have an Xbox and PS2 currently) will probably buy more than one over time and are possibly waiting for the killer app to buy each. This is why I am waiting for GT5 before I buy a PS3.
I think that is why the Wii will be so successful, its fun, available and cheap! It will be able to keep someone occupied till a system like the PS3 gets a game thats realy worth buying it to play, or till the price comes down. Sony need more 'killer app's' as you say to get the sales rolling, If it had lanched with like MGS and GT5 can you imagine the hype and amount of sales that would have generated, although resistance has been doing quite well for the PS3 so far.

And first time gamers are possibly not likely to frequent gaming magazines and review sites---yet. They are mostly drawn in by advertising, which the PS3 seems to be blitzing with, something I find funny considering if I did see something that motivated me I couldn't get it anyway.
You make a good point, but I think the PS3 advertising campaign if scaring people more than convinsing people to go out and buy one!
Sony are selling it as though its like a Voodo machine or runs on black magic!

Being multiplatform/third-party games mean it isn't Sony's fault, but the developers, who either used these games to learn the new programming system with or were just making their port and getting on to their new game instead of wasting lots of time. The loyalists will buy the PS3 version and the multiplatform gamers will buy whichever version they prefer, if they haven't bought the 360 version already. For example, I am getting Madden for the Wii because it looks like the Wii will be more fun for sports. Were I a loyalist I woudl be getting a PS3 and buying Madden on it, but either way EA still gets my every two-year purchase of a Madden game.
I wish that they would make more of an effort with multiplatform games though! with more and more being available on all systems and the 360 and PS3 being so close in terms of power its very tempting to not bother and port eveything! People like EA will always win because they get your money, whatever system you buy but thats not an excuse to be lazy!

It really comes down to the devs. Dev kits for both systems have been out for almost the same time, though the X360 supposedly has some of the best tools for that stuff while the Cell is harder to code for. You can tell this is obvious when NFS Carbon for PS3 has no trees or buildings in the rear view mirror when the X360 does.
Technically, the X360 has a better, more flexible GPU like MeatyZor said, but the Cell has the upper hand when it comes to processing.
Then Sony should have built a computer!
I cant believe that they have missed the whole point of this... its ment to be the most amazing GAMING system ever and we find that its better at running powerpoint! Yes I know Sony said they didnt want it to just be a console but still a flexible GPU... duh whould have been the first thing they should have thought of! I just hope that first party developers know how to code it to gets its full potential, like PD.
