I saw Resistance, I saw game play of it, I rented it, I went online, I took it back immediately. Why, why does this game receive so much hype? I mean, at least Killzone half lived up to it's hype.
I'm not even gonna waste my time on a sequel. I have however been waiting for Killzone 2 for... ev... er...
Out of all of my friends, I am the only one who owns a PS3. None of them have ever played a PS3 and are very defensive about Xbox 360's. They assume PS3's are terrible due to reviews they've seen, and because PS3's don't have Halo 3. It's REALLY annoying! They also think that PS3's are copying Xbox 360's. In this day and age of games consoles, how can you not copy each other?

Dude, we get it, you have an uncomfortable love for your 360. Get over it, we don't care. Leave this thread, and never come back, unless you have something important to talk about. This is the PS3 discussion thread, not the 'why I love my 360 so much, but my PS3 isn't my GF' thread.*snip*
Have you tried to show your friends how good the PS3 really is? Show them exclusive games, Blu Ray movies, PSP connectively, PSN store, customizable themes... seesh, I could go on and on. Until they played a game on PS3, I would suggest your friends refrain from comment.
If anything, Microsoft wouldn't be in the console market if it wasn't for Sony's continued success.
Thanks for the heads up! 👍
Considering how mislead they appear to be on the other things they said about the PS3, perhaps its understandable why they think that as well, but honestly, there is almost nothing similar about the PS3 and the 360, and if anything, with new models of the 360, in some ways the 360 is the one doing the copying, like adding HDMI.They also think that PS3's are copying Xbox 360's.
Actually they don't make computers either. In fact, just about every time Microsoft has tried to get into the consumer electronic hardware business they have failed, at least financially. Microsoft is first and foremost a software company, and many stock holders would really like it if Microsoft would stop wasting billions of dollars on all these failed attempts in making hardware.Thats a very good point. Microsoft only make Games Consoles so they can try and be number one with all electronics, they should just stick to making Computers, but then again the Xbox 360 is basically just a Computer that plugs into your TV! Leave Games Consoles to the Japanese!
That's pretty harsh don't you think. His posts in this thread have largely been between he and I, and while I don't share much of his subjective opinions, I certainly don't see him posting any obvious love of the 360. If anything, it just seems he is unaware and or uninterested in the current choices in PS3 games, that and mistaken about the differences, or lack thereof between most 360 and PS3 editions of multi-platform titles.Dude, we get it, you have an uncomfortable love for your 360. It really is stunning isn't it!That Earth effect in Music player is great! It's nice to finally have a new visual player.
My little girl likes to turn her voice into a chipmunk, while my son likes to make his voice like a demon... should I be worried?

The PS3 still has many features that are completely lacking in past and all or some current 360 models, like built-in WiFi, built-in memory card readers, Bluetooth 2.0, Bluetooth controllers (with motion sensitivity) +play & charge support included, 40GB or larger HDD on all models, web browser, video/voice conferencing, SACD player, Blu-ray player, DVD 1080p upscaling, support for games on a blue laser optical disc, support for 3rd party OS and hardware, and of course the PS3 didn't even copy the 360 in terms of CPU technology.
So not only is the PS3 not a copy of the 360, but in some ways the latest 360 models are trying to copy some of the features the PS3 had from the get go.

Microsoft must be adding stuff to Xbox 360's because they're getting nervous now that PS3's are rapidly gaining on them for sales and popularity.
Well the prices were too tempting, so I just ordered the following Blu-ray titles for only $14.50 each with free shipping:
Another useful resource for those shopping for Blu-ray and HD DVD discs is High-Def Digest's Review Database. They have some of the best reviews for HD titles I've read, and have yet to steer me in the wrong direction. 👍BTW: For those like myself that prefer to own movies on DVD/HD DVD/Blu-ray, a really great site is DVD Price Search. It is a very easy to use, yet powerful shopping bot for quickly finding the best prices for DVDs, HD DVDs and Blu-rays. 👍
I have a real passion for film, and have long before DVDs even came out. As such I have about 2,500 DVDs and prior to that I had a pretty healthy Laser Disc collection as well. I never liked VHS or Beta so I only had a moderate collection of movies of tape.Wow DN, you buy a lot of stuff. I guess you like Blue eh? lol
Believe it or not, I never bought my PS3 for games. I bought it as it was the highest rated and yet least expensive Blu-ray player back when it launched a year ago.But i would love to watch a Blu Ray movie one day on my PS3. Just need a HDTV
2500 is a lot of DVD's DN. But if your a fan of films then so be it.
Unfortunately, that is but the tip of a very large iceberg...Duċk;2511769...How can anyone have all those movies?!?
Guilty as charged, but actually that mess is more of a reflection of the current state of affairs in my home theater, which is in the midst of being remodeled. In addition, my DVD collection is rather unwieldy and is spread over several rooms.. and large storage boxes.
I know the feeling. I actually have set aside a separate area for all her "chick flicks" (truth be told though, I do like some of them).
I gave up trying to sort them alphabetically a very long time ago. Now I sort them by genres, and while that can sometimes be difficult, as most films have many different genres, there is usually one category that best fits the film. My wife and guests prefers having them organized this way as it makes it easy to browse for types of movies, rather than just a specific title.
I also use DVD Profiler to keep my collection organized. If you haven't heard of this program before, I strongly suggest you check it out! I have tried several different competing DVD and film database programs and this easily was the best for me. It is not only a great program for organizing your titles, but it gives very in depth information on each title as well as detailed stats about your collection.
Here is a list of my DVD collection (currently over 2,000 titles) . I know that seems like a lot, but not only have I been collecting DVDs since its rollout in 1997, but I also have a very broad interest in genres and styles of filmmaking. I prefer to own rather than rent, not just for the convenience of having the DVD readily available, but I have found that many superior DVD editions are not available for rent, and that when a title has multiple release editions, rental companies generally only offer the lesser quality edition.
I also really enjoy sharing my passion for film, so I am regularly lending out my DVDs to family and friends... at any given time I probably have at least 100 DVDs from my collection that are being lent out. I find it immensely rewarding to introduce someone to film or director that they may not have heard of before and it becomes one of their personal favorites (one of my current favorite titles to recommend is L4YER CAK3). I also hate the idea of DVDs just sitting on shelves and never getting played.
