Looks like an updated PS3 will be coming out soon: Link

I will get one for GT6 as long as there is a die shrink. Hopefully 22nm Cell and 28nm RSX but if it is still only 45nm Cell but 28nm RSX then seems a big enough step for me to upgrade to.

Happy new maintenance!

In order to continue bringing you the best online games experience on PSN, we will perform routine maintenance beginning the afternoon of Tuesday 25th June. This maintenance will start at approximately 5.30pm BST/6.30pm CET and will last until around midnight BST/1.00am CET. During the maintenance period, you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access PSN.

The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will not be available during the maintenance period but you will be able to access online play and apps provided that you have signed in to the Network at some point between now and the time of the maintenance. So please be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the PlayStation Network during Tuesday’s maintenance window.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support.

Anyone has the email address for the Asian PSN support? I forget my old account's password (which I am trying to get rid of) and it's date of birth. :indiff:

Hi, i'd need some help here.

I'm trying to connect my PS3 to a monitor with DVI cable + HDMI connector (reduction) on the PS3 end. Problem is, i can't set up the console to the HDMI mode. When on my old TV, it switches back to the SCART mode. I also tried to make it on the monitor, "blindfolded"; i wrote down how many times i have to push which button after consloe startup, but all i get is blank black screen for a second and then it switches to red/black static (which is there since the start of console).

I'm running out of ideas here, could you point me in the right direction please?

When the PS3 is off, Use the power button on the console (don't use the controller PS button), when you press it hold it down until it beeps then you can let go. This will reset the video settings and prompt you to choose again.

Thanks, seems like this somewhat worked, because i have error message "out of range - 33,7kHz/30Hz" instead of the red/black static. I get it that PS3 is locked on 30Hz and my monitor supports 56Hz lowest, so it probably won't work. Or is there any way around this?

I know I've been out of the PlayStation 3 loop for a long while. Why so? I downloaded the latest software update for the PS3 just last night after it's been out for so long. I also tried to load up Life With PlayStation... all to find out the Life With PlayStation deal has been discontinued for quite some time. I also tried to get through PlayStation Home. And to be quite honest, I'm done with Home. I may well just uninstall it from my PS3. It was cool when I played it long ago in my early PS3 days, but I've had no luck meeting new people or really having fun. So I'm done with PS Home.

I just haven't been on the PS3 as much as I used to. Don't hate the PS3 or anything... just haven't done much of anything- including playing GT5.

Anyone having issues with the new 1.07 youtube update.
When it try's to connect to download the system shuts off abruptly (3 beeps) ?

Try'ed again and it worked now.

Good time to sell it before prices drop drastically.

But I wouldn't do it if you invested a lot of money into it, i.e. PSOne or PSTwo Classics, digital media downloads, ect. You would have to rebuy those if you go for a PS4 as your primary gaming source.

It came back on shortly after I posted that. Most of my friends seemed to be affected, but a few weren't. Glad it was short.

The PS3 is such a stupid piece of equipment sometimes. Mine just decided that my internet connection doesn't work anymore, although it works perfectly fine on my computer and nothing has changed since I last logged on two or three days ago.

Why does it have to be so 🤬 complicated, it's just a 🤬 internet connection, it shouldn't be rocket science in 2013!

And why is it only the PS3 that has this problem when my computer is perfectly fine?

And while I'm in rant mode: Why does the ultimate home entertainment machine have an obsolete version of the flash player which renders it completely useless for, I don't know, watching TV online? Not that it matters much anymore since the first step to watch something online is to actually have an internet connection.

I also have occasional issues with the internet, though along with the controller being unable to connect. A restart has fixed it all the times it've happened for me.

I wish a restart would fix it for me as well, but so far nothing has helped. It says that it timed out while trying to get an IP address. When I enter an IP manually it gives me a DNS error, 80710102.

Wireless or wired? My wireless just stopped working one day so I had to switch to a wired connection. Wired is better anyway.

Wired. Been working without any problems for years and now suddenly it seems like it has gone all senile and doesn't know what to do anymore.

Thinking about it someone had this before and had to reset their router to get the PS3 to connect again so try that.

I appreciate that the post was from a few days ago now, but routers get software updates and it's adviseable to restart you hub/router as well as your PS3.

We had a few internet problems here over the past few months and a restart of the router helped every time. It's just a software thing...

PSN is down, right after I did a firmware update to get back online... typical!
Isn't there a maintenance scheduled about now. Something like four to six hours if I remember it correctly.

EDIT:
PSN, we will perform routine maintenance beginning Thursday, August 22nd. This maintenance will start at approximately 12:00 Noon PT (1:00PM MT / 2:00PM CT / 3:00PM ET) and last until around 6:30PM PT (7:30PM MT / 8:30PM CT / 9:30PM ET). During the maintenance period, you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access PSN.
