PS3 General Discussion

Thinking about it someone had this before and had to reset their router to get the PS3 to connect again so try that.

My PS3 is back online! Seems like it just needed to go on vacation for a week. I've been away since Thursday and now when I came home again I tried to connect it and suddenly it just worked.
The network gods work in mysterious ways.

For some reason i can not watch any videos on gtplanet forums! They just will not load. Anybody have a fix for my problem, would appreciate any help!

Is that vertical stand new? or did the super slim PS3 launch with it?
It didn't launch with it. (No one that I know, that has a SuperSlim, got one)
I'm not sure if this model in particular comes with it, though.

If you're using the PS3's web browser, there's not much to be done. The browser itself is, well..not very great. I myself have had bad experiences with it.

There is a solution for the Youtube issue on PS3, just follow the instructions on the link.

Does anyone of you here have PS3 Slim Vertical Stand? Which company i'm looking one for mine PS3 slim. I want to stand it next to PS2 and later add PS4 vertically. So i need to find some decent good looking for mine Slim, not super slim !!

Yep.
1. Sign into PSN.
2. When signed in, click "Account Management"
3. Scroll down to "Avatar"
4. Then select which one you want.

👍

I've done some of my PS3 game shopping on PSN lately. I bought Double Dragon Neon last weekend and bought Tetris (PS3 version) today. I seem almost too tempted to buy some classic games, but have yet to pull the trigger on a sale unless I see a real classic that I want to play on here. I may even be tempted to find some other good PSN-exclusive title or even a fairly good independent (indie) game. I have even been more mindful of buying DLC. It was only recently I bought the TDU2 Casino Online material.

As far as disc-based games are concerned, I am still looking for either some good older games or even a few low-priced titles. Of titles I've seen a lot of marked down, two that interest me are "LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes" and "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch." If I get the LEGO game, it will be the first-ever LEGO game of any kind I've owned. Getting "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" will be the first proper RPG I've bought in a while. Only other RPG for the PS3 I have is "3D Dot Game Heroes."

When I was at a Wal-Mart earlier today, I saw a pack featuring all three Mass Effect games in a trilogy package. I think it was either Labounti or Foolkiller or somebody that recommended Mass Effect. I am mostly a classic gamer for the most part. However, I do want to be somewhat modern and get a modern first-person shooter. I even saw "Battlefield 3" that is a Greatest Hits title.

I have only recently gotten back into playing the PS3 after not having played anything in a while. I sometimes alternate between all kinds of things- even my blogging work. So it's great to be back into the swing of things.

"Saints Row IV" is the latest game to my PS3 collection. Among the disc-based games, I think this is probably my 13th, 14th, or 15th disc-based PS3 title. Just fooling around and having fun with it.

Playing old games only in HD versions, like best of the best. Resident Evil 4 HD, MGS 2 + MGS 3 HD''s Shadow of the Colossus HD. Those few games worth going back to.

Part of me still wants to get PS1 and PS2 games on the PS3 from the PlayStation Store. But another part of me still wants to pick up a good game in the $14.99 USD price range. I am just weighing my options on PSN mostly.

Try out the Spyro games, I had lots of fun with them.

I have apparently reached Level 7 with PSN Trophies. I found this out when I refreshed my Portable ID earlier today. Most of my latest earned Trophies are from playing Saints Row IV.

^ Yeah and the obligatory 4.51 update will follow a week later after half the worlds PS3 brick.

I hope all that auto stuff can be set to manual, there is no way in hell I want these firmware updates automatically downloading! The hiding certain trophies thing is good because it's annoying having 0% titles in your list. Ideally they should have a delete rather than hide.

Anybody experiencing a problem where your friends list doesn't show up?
It keeps happening to me lately.

Yes, i had the same thing, after restarting but few hours later it was OK. Don't know if this Matrix Mistake coming back. But probably it would, cause it's in Firmware so only next one can fix this.

You guys know that idiotic Singstar  icon under Game. Is there any way of getting rid of it ??

Sadly no, and you can't change the horrid PSN logo either. They gradually ruined the whole clean look of the XMB over the years.

Question: My PS3 gave up the ghost recently, and rather than buying a new one, I found a BC unit at a local Gamestop. Problem is that I would have to transfer over all of my PSN purchases over to the new unit. My question is that would deactivating my system affect DLC purchases?

If you deactivate the old system and activate the new one, it would be as if the new one was the old one. The only time where the is not the case is with certain movie titles, which may not work on the new one even after that.

That's what I thought. I was checking though the Sony site and it mentioned nothing about DLC, and I was worried that if I had to switch to a new system that I would have to rebuy all of my DLC.

The last time I fooled around with my PlayStation 3, I noted my Friends List went AWOL. I didn't restart the system or anything like others suggested, but I felt a bit concerned that my Friends List was deleted or something. Some of those PSN friends are some of the fine folks here on GTPlanet. I am not sure what's up, but I'm hoping this gets resolved somehow.

On a different note, I added a new game to my PS3 collection- Infamous. It is actually a bundle pack which includes both "Infamous," "Infamous 2," and "Infamous: Festival of Blood." The reason why I held out on getting Infamous 2 is because when I saw one review for Infamous 2, someone suggested I play the first Infamous before playing the second one. I was fortunate to find this bundle pack which includes all this Infamous stuff. I haven't yet played this game, but I'll be sure to hopefully enjoy this experience when I do get to play around in the Infamous series.

[UPDATE] I logged back onto my PS3, and my friends list was there. InFamous is quite good after playing a few hours of the game.
