How long did it take you to beat this?

I'm extremely excited to play more of this game but the asking price seems quite steep for what some reviewers have said is little over an hour long.
Although other reviews say 2 to 3 hours

To me it probably took just over two hours and that was going through at a quick pace on Hard. I made the mistake of being combat-oriented during the sections with Riley (the DLC alternates between exploring the mall with Riley as a flashback, and what happens to Ellie, Joel and Callus after the University level).

If you take your time to explore and have fun, you could probably get three or four hours out of it. And a bit more if you play again for the trophies. 👍

The price for Left Behind does seem a bit steep, but I got the Season Pass a while back because I play quite a bit of te multiplayer as well.

Ah that's more like it! Will definaly play through it more than once as i did with the main game!

Looking forward to playing it :)

Yeah, while I enjoyed playing the DLC, it was way too short for the price. I was not happy when it ended so soon. This was $5 DLC, not $15.

Just beat it. Pretty good, but overpriced. Guess Naughty Dog is indeed taking a turn for the worse with DLC pricing.

WARNING: The following contains small spoilers of the Left Behind content.

While I really enjoyed the exploration of the mall with Riley and Ellie, I found their little "development" to be entirely pointless and forced. To me, it just comes off as Naughty Dog trying hard to be political correct by shoving it into the game. Would've been better without it it IMO.

Including both infected and Hunter in the same enviroment is pretty cool. Thumbs up for that.
However, the DLC further shows how awful the checkpoint system is in the game. Why can't it just set me back to the beginning of the fight, or a natural half way point? Instead, the game will start you in the most awkward position possible. This was espicially true for the last fight.

And a tiny nicpick to some, but really annoying to me. Why is the MedEvac helicopter not a Blackhawk? The concept art even shows it as a Blackhawk. So what gives? Just a small immersion breaker for me to have this fictional (I think) helicopter sitting there.

Spoilers above!

Overall, I'm fairly pleased with it. Could've been longer, and is definatley overpriced. But it's still pretty good.

$15!!??

Damn it. Those guys are evil, they know how good of a game / DLC they made... I'm telling you, I would've never spent this much on a 3 hour DLC, ever. For any other game. Downloading now. :(

Can't wait!

Very happy the DLC is out now. This game is pretty much my sole reason for keeping my PS3 & I've been missing the story. Will give it a run tonight.

Just beat the DLC. It was ok. I've beaten the main story many many times, but I don't see myself playing through the DLC again.
I liked mixing in the enemies, being able to lure the infected into attacking your human enemies was a nice addition.

SPOILERS BELOW

I wasn't a huge fan of the structure of the story, the flashbacks and flash-forwards to Joel's injury didn't feel very fluid to me. Although, at the end of Riley and Ellie's story it made a bit more sense with Riley's "something to fight for" speech.
I'm fine with the lesbian revelation too. The kiss just felt out of place and rather forced by ND. The beauty of ND(generally) is they are subtle in their character development. For example, the way Joel would touch or look at his watch when Ellie would remind him of Sara or after the giraffe scene in Utah; when Joel sighs as if to say "it hasn't" when Ellie said the whole trip can not be for nothing.
I started to think there maybe more to Riley and Ellie's friendship when they were in the photo booth together near the carrousel; subtle, yet apparent. The kiss just felt forced.

SPOILERS BE-GONE

I did enjoy the DLC but it took about 2.5 hours to beat. That's a steep $15 for such a short DLC.

I personally would have rather seen DLC centered around Ish (the sewer survivor) or Tommy when he went back to Texas.
As for the future of Joel and Ellie, I hope their story is finished. Not because I'm sick of or dislike either of them, but because both those characters have been though so much trauma. Let those characters live out their lives in Wyoming. Unless, its a prequel on how Joel got to Boston and what happened between him and Tommy. But every person in the world has a tragic and unique story in TLOU's setting. I'd like to see some new characters.

I didn't see any obvious references to where Joel and Ellie's story could go in my play though, did any of you?

Can I recommend to change the colour of the spoilers to white? I've played the story so I know what happens, but a lot of people haven't yet. Just put [*color=white] [*/color] around the paragraphs. 👍

SPOILERS AGAIN

The great thing is that it (if you've played Left Behind, you know what it is) can be interpreted as something else, so it still is subtle. Is it romantic? Was is just pure excitement? It looked very impromptu instead of 'forced'. I did, however, see it coming from a mile away.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead.

Finished this today after starting it last night. I really enjoyed Left Behind. It definitely exceeded my expectations.

They were pretty low to begin with since I read the American Dreams comic, which is already about Ellie and Riley's relationship. But I was surprised when the game also went into how Ellie took care of Joel shortly after he was impaled. Left Behind is a nice mix of light-hearted fun between Ellie and Riley and horror as Ellie journeys through the abandoned mall. The game switches between the two stories well and it's a nice stress reliever to goof around with Ellie and Riley after having to fight some clickers. The various mini-games you do with Riley are also a nice change when you spend most of the time in TLOU killing and searching for items.

Speaking of clickers, one detail I really liked about Left Behind was battling human enemies and infected at the same time, something I wished happened in the main game. It added a whole new element to the gameplay. I could go into more detail about the things I liked but I'm not trying to give a full review here.

And I don't know about you guys but I played through most of this at midnight. Had some trouble sleeping afterwards, but I felt like I got the best experience by playing in complete darkness. Maybe it could just be me as TLOU is the first survival horror game I've ever played.

It took me 2 hours and 36 minutes to complete Left Behind. Is it worth $15? It depends. I love this game's universe and I want to learn as much about it as possible. In fact, discovering artifacts is one of my most favorite things about the game. So this was definitely worth the money, IMO. I will revisit it again in the future.

Boom, done 👍.

I was really hoping Left Behind would blow me away because TLOU was the best gaming experience I've ever had. But, unfortunately it didn't blow ME away. There were great parts and references I enjoyed. But, after playing through Left Behind, Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare still ranks far above Left Behind as best DLC. The Undead Nightmare was around the same price too!

I really wasn't sure how I'd feel about the DLC, but damn it was just as good as the main story. Color me impressed. 👍

Are they planning on anymore single player DLC?

An absolutely amazing DLC. Loved the switching between the 2 different times. Even though it was a bit expensive I already had the season pass so it didn't bother me as much as I've got plenty of enjoyment out of the MP DLC

Just completed my very first 3 hour, $27.20 NZD single-player dlc. Although not as lengthy as the main story, I had to admit that it's a great first single-player dlc from NaughtyDog! 👍

Highly recommend if you want to know more about Ellie's side-story. :)

Finished it last night. Pretty awesome, but so incredibly short. I would've been fine with a price tag of $10, but $15?

Oh well, at last I got to revisit this wonderful game universe. :)

I dont see the problem with the price. Everybody pays 15$ for a Blu Ray without thinking twice, but if its an incredibly brilliant gaming experience of 2.5-3hrs, thats bad?

Anyway, I loved it just as much as the main game, well worth the money and the wait.

Just watched another playthrough of the game and I just realized something while watching the ending.

Not sure if I'm doing this right but I hope I am, SPOILERS:

I was always slightly confused as to whether or not Ellie knew Joel was lying about the fireflies because of how she just says "okay", but after re-watching the ending of the DLC I noticed something. First off, in the ending of the main campaign Joel says: "I struggled for a long time with surviving, and you.. Not matter what, you keep finding something to fight for." And now we have Riley in the ending of the DLC saying: "There are a million ways we should have died before today, and a million ways we can die before tomorrow, but we fight.. for every second we get to spend with eachother. Whether it's two minutes, or two days.. we don't give that up." Awfully familiar to what Joel is saying huh? I think when Joel said you keep finding something to fight for, it struck a chord with Ellie because Riley said something so similar. Through that, I think it's fair enough to assume Ellie knew Joel was lying about the Fireflies, but was able to forgive him because in that moment he had reminded her of what Riley had said to her.

What do you guys think? Yes? Or am I just crazy?

Anyway, 3deep5me NaughtyDog, 3deep5me. ;_;

Just played Left Behind tonight. Nice little piece of DLC but I think it should at least have been 1/3 longer. I'm not too bothered about the length vs. price as I already have enjoyed great overall value with the season pass. It complements the main game rather well.

^ This.

I don't care about the money, but the short length stops the train dead just as it's started to really pick up some speed. I like the DLC for all the same reasons as everyone else, but another hour or so particularly on one side of the story would have made the conclusion hit much harder then it does.

Falls short of the main game for this reason, not bad by any means but not worth the price of admission unless you have money to burn like I did.

Don't me remind me of the Platinum trophy. Something I can't get because some idiot at Naughty Dog decided to force you to play a ridicules amount of the atrocious multiplayer. Multiplayer trophies in singlerplayer games suck!

I loved the multiplayer. It's intense, punishing and forces you to think a lot when playing. It doesn't take that long, actually. Make a good Support class and you'll have parts coming out of your eyes.

Finished Left Behind myself the other night. Wasn't packed with playable content as it was loaded with interactive experience and becoming more attached to Ellie, but I thought it was a nice touch to the story.

Though I didn't find it that much more challenging than some bits in the campaign as they claimed, and I'm not proficient at shooters either.

And what a great way to make a little bit more money too for ND.
