Camaroboy are you watching full walkthroughs of gameplay and cutscenes or just cutscenes? I'd recommend gameplay too if you haven't been to see the full struggle these two go through. Their interactions are really the best in a game that I've experienced.
Yep, there's a lot of great dialogue between ALL the characters outside of the cut scenes. But, as someone else said, curious to hear what you think of the story or Joel & Ellie's final decisions/thoughts, CB.
I would have thought the previous 60 pages might give you a hint about that - there again, it all depends on what you like, so take a read and see if it appeals.
For those that asked this is what I watched. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q-SKmb_QBg All cinematic cut scenes and gameplay. I don't think I missed anything but could be wrong. I physically played the first 1/4 of the game. Watched the rest after getting frustrated at the elevator level.
I just finished up the entire stoyline on youtube. Amazing storyline. I can see how this could possibly be voted GOTY for 2013. Lets not forget Tomb Raider 2013. That was another amazing storyline IMO this year. But TLOU was indeed well worth playing / watching. I got choked up a couple times. Not sure if there were multiple endings but the video above is what I watched.
Joel rescues Ellie from the surgery and they escape. As predicted the general concept of Ellies condition was VERY similar to movie called "The phenomenon". The great news is Ellie lived!
While yes she could have been one of a kind and used to create a cure, I feel they eventually might have found someone else as special as Ellie to perform the surgery on. The world is full of infected so it is quite possible. Plus I liked those characters too much for her to die. Yes I am selfish. haha
If i had deciding voice between GTA5 and Last Of US then i would also pick LOU for GOTY title. GTA 5 is just another the same GTA. I've seen already the same story couple of times. It's not new for me. And LOU breathes this kind of unknown adventure and immense experience in Single Player.
Quick question for everyone else who has beaten this game. Do you think it is possible to have a sequel to this game? I have been thinking about it and i do think it is very possible to have a sequel maybe it takes place in the near future of the first and you play as Ellie after she is grown up? I really want to hear other peoples opinions on this due to it being one of my favorite games of all time. Thanks in advanced!

It's funny you ask that, because I finished watching a walkthough of this game last night. I swear, it felt like I was watching a movie, not a video game walkthough. The Last of Us is truly a unique exprience.
As for another Last of Us game, I think it's defenitely possible. There are so many things it could be about, like how Joel survived for the 20 years before the events of the game, the outbreak from other character's perspectives, etc. Personally, I think the way The Last of Us ended was perfect. If Naughty Dog do make a sequel about what happens after the ending of the first game, I will be amazed if it's just as good.

They did find more like elle.It was on one of the doctors recordings if I remember correctly, the immune ones they found either eventually got infected or they died during surgery I forget exactly what was said.
Definitely my fav game this year ..Tomb Raider is up there too.

Yes, naughty dog is well known from doing three parts games. Crash 1,2,3 Jack + Daxter 1,2,3 Uncharted 1,2,3 and now We have Last of us 1. So two next games will come for sure.
Although it's unknown if it will be on PS3 or PS4. Larger customer base is with PS3 so during launch day even when PS4 would be on the market for over a Year still decisive numbers will be with PS3. I think reasonable thing to do would be to make Last of Us 2 for both PS3 and Ps4.
I feel like they will make two more games. The first one will be what happened with Joel in the 20 years before he met Ellie. The second one will probably be a few years after the first one and maybe you play as Ellie.
As much as I love the game and its main characters, I wouldnt want a sequel starring either. I would love to see more stories from the whole scenario (clickers are my favorite kind of zombies ever), but nothing that is based on the events in the first one. My favorite would be to have a game about Ish, but maybe the DLC will tackle that. Another idea containing a light spoiler: A very bold move would be a sequel where you are playing one of the surviving fireflies and you re going on a hunt for Ellie to find her and bring her back to the HQ to complete the operation Somehow, in a twisted way, I would love that. But I doubt they would consider playing with the feelings of people who played the original game so much.
For me personally Story of Ellie and Joel is special, Ellie is immune to whatever disease caused outbreak. So delivery her to fireflies was crucial and special.
Stories of others is just based pure on survival. You can't just run around and kill runners or clickers. You have to had some purpose more than just desire to live.
Completed my first Survivor playthrough this morning. I'm confident that I can Platinum this game! Now I just have to complete Survivor Plus, the Firefly Journey and the rest of the miscellaneous trophies before I can get it.
I also managed to go really well for three consecutive Supply Raids. 13-2, 9-0 and 10-2
I bought this game used about a month ago and I'm still slowly working my way through the campaign. This is due to a lack of free time, not because I dislike the game.
Would anyone happen to have an online pass they never used? I don't feel like paying $10 just to try out the multiplayer that no one likes.
To say "that no one likes" is a gross overstatement. Some people don't like it and others love it. I'm in the 'love' category and it has no shortage of players online.
Sorry, every review I have seen has been negative. This could be from one of those human conditions where it is fun enough for some to enjoy but for some others it strikes enough of a nerve for them to go out of their way and bash.
I've never tried it, so I have no opinion. I'm certainly open to trying but now I regret saving $10 by buying used and then having no online option. Hindsight is 20/10.
It's a very fun multiplayer just don't take it seriously. You can have so much fun just dicking about with a flamethrower. I recommend watching a few YouTube videos and then deciding to play. With the recent patch it's become a much more balanced game too. Just expect a lot of molotovs at the start of matches and melee later in the match.
It really is. You can add me if you like. I won't be on much this week and maybe next week but definitely after that. PSN: K1LL1NG_SPR33_99. Just mention that you're from GTP.
