Well, not all territories respect contracts the same... Especially if there are no enforceable reproductions.Whomever sold their copies on to the retailers in Lebanon - or someone even higher up the chain - would have had a contract that they've breached though.
The copies of GT6 should not have got out before December 6th. Whomever sold the copies early is in breach of contract, regardless of whether they sold them to other retailers or to consumers.

I know gtplanet has a lot of contact with Sony... can you tell us what the word about this is?None of the users have committed any crimes or broken any contracts and retailer breach of contract is a civil rather than criminal matter.
What they do next time is limit the availability to this region, harming the consumer - thanks to a few greedy games shops...Well, not all territories respect contracts the same... Especially if there are no enforceable reproductions.
This is considered "grey market". The only thing Sony can do is have a more offical presence or distributer and they really should have known better.
I doubt it - you haven't broken any PSN terms of service either. To be honest that makes sense. Was thinking the same thing, that someone somewhere made the mistake. Im trying to decide if its right to play the game though or not.... Also Im not sure if sony might do a psn ban or anything like that???
No.I know gtplanet has a lot of contact with Sony... can you tell us what the word about this is?

There isn't one. This was confirmed a couple days ago. People are hoping DAY1 patch fixes this but...Can you look and see if there is a livery editor?

More pictures coming soon!
I believe Jordan said yesterday or the day before that they got the green light to make a NEWS article about the 2 leak threads and link those threads. They then made said article but shortly took it down. So, someone somewhere must've not been happy.
GTP likes the relationship they have with sony/pd/insiders/whomever so I don't blame them one bit for being cautious.

On two fronts. Firstly, I can't anyway. Secondly, if I could and did we'd have less contact with Sony, so I can't
But I'd say that the consumers who've bought the game in good faith aren't in trouble - but Sony will be investigating who is at fault. It's incredibly poor timing, with the Middle East getting its first GT Academy this year, if Sony decide they can't trust ME retailers...
thank you mate!Im heading right to my local store somehow he got a batch of GT6 copies way before 6 december! I'll post a picture as soon as I get my hands on my copy and I'll be posting inside content all night so my beloved community would have the first inside look into Gt6 the actual simulator
NB: don't be confused im getting the actual game and not a demo or anything.
I'll keep you all posted.

Because it might affect sales of other games, most likley. Just because games are in a different genres doesn't mean they aren't competing for a sale.I really don't understand why Sony is so adamant about release day. I think once a store gets a game, they should be able to sell it right away. Having everyone wait and make retailers sit on games for a particular date is meaningless. Leaks are bound to happen. Breached contracts are bound to happen. Holding back a game does nothing but cause leaks. The game will be on the market eventually so why not just allow it to release as soon as retailers get it.
Because business is not a free-for-all. Marketing in particular is coordinated based on a fixed street date. These copies are out without the day 1 patch, meaning the game is being viewed and reviewed in it's unfinished state. I hope heads roll over this, I know if I were Sony/PD I'd be livid!!I really don't understand why Sony is so adamant about release day. I don't by that. If a game is going to sell, its going to sell regardless. I would buy every game that interest me regardless competition. Most titles don't release around the same time anyways. They are at least a week or two apart. The strategy is from being insecure about their game if its about competition.Because it might affect sales of other games, most likely. Being in a unfinished state should not be the issue. People who don't have internet will always have an unpatched game. The game that PD puts on disk should be release worthy. Otherwise they need to hold until it is. Patches are just minor fixes. They should never be major updates on day one.Because business is not a free-for-all. I'm glad you have the income to splurge willy nilly on anything and everything. Companies though, know that sometimes they need to strategically release games as to either not overlap or to have a steady stream of content throughout the year. I'm sure they have data showing how many games people buy per year and who's likely to cross-shop this and that.I don't by that. If a game is going to sell, its going to sell regardless. Fixed release dates are fine if everyone played by the rules but they don't.
I don't really think you can blame small Middle East retailers for breaking the street date. These guys are just trying to get a competitive edge and no doubt selling the game at a premium price. It's capitalism at work.
If people feel angered at the street date being broken I suggest you place your blame where it belongs, directed at Sony. Sonys failure to control their supply chain is nobodies fault but their own. After all this isn't the first time this has happened.
I agree. Everyone is out to make a buck. I don't fault any retailer for selling any merchandise. Sony indeed is the culprit. If they want everyone to play by the rules, then, eliminate them. Once a retailer gets it, allow them to sell it. Problem solved. Selling Sony's product is the goal is it not. No inflated prices if every has access to the game. No more leaks if everyone in that region has the game. No policing the internet and using man power to stop people from posting leaks. The game will get out and they will always continue to get out. As my high school coach told me once..."If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying".I don't really think you can blame small Middle East retailers for breaking the street date. I wouldn't fit in. I tend to be on time with things therefore I couldn't make it in their delayed environment. It doesn't take talent to be on time though. It's called time management.Wow, you should go apply at PD/Sony, they need the likes of your talent. The video game industry has had the whole idea of release dates wrong going on 35 years it seems.
No idea.
They are part of career. You race a few times then you have to pass the license tests to advance to other events.Nice! Good old license tests are indeed in the game. I thought these tests were events now. I'm glad they are still like they've always been.

I really like the way they did the license test. If you want to progress pass the test. It different that GT1-GT4 for its within career mode. GT5 licenses were optional and I didn't realize it until I passed all the test first. I wasn't thrilled but it is what it was. Now its done really well. I assume they didn't make it terribly hard since its in career mode itself. They are part of career. You race a few times then you have to pass the license tests to advance to other events.
That's impossible and everyone knows that everyone can't get it at the same time. That's why I said when retailers get it, they should be allowed to sell them. There isn't much of an advantage if a store gets it first. Those copies will sell regardless when they get them. As long as the prices are not inflated, there is no advantage in my book. If they want to control the middle east, send fewer copies or have them ship out several weeks after the world get it. If a retailer in the US gets 200 copies, a retailer in Canada gets 200 copies a day later and a retailer in the UK gets 200 copy a day after Canada, those copies that each store got will all sell out the same way. The 201st person is s.o.l. If Sony thinks its still unfair, how about not refilling that retailers order until others have sold copies. People will flock to where every the game is. Once they are sold out they are sold out. I don't see how that is an advantage when there is no constant supply coming in for one particular retailer.Maybe you know a cost effective way to ensure that every single retailer in the entire world can get retail copies of a game at the exact same time so no one ever gets a competitive advantage. Sounds like you do...if so, it would be worth millions.

I have noticed that you get off by arguing with everyone on this site. Every thread your in, there is an argument with someone somewhere. Most of your little wordings are meant to insult someone in a sly way under the table. Lucky for you, this is internet but do what you do homie.Capitalism 101. How to Run a Small Business 101. Competitive Advantage 101. Study these and get back to me because "your book" is sadly out of date.
Let me spell it out for you then homie. I live 5 minutes from the busiest border crossing in the world. In less than a half an hour I can be over the bridge and at a videogame store in another country. If I could go over the bridge and buy GT6 now I would. I suspect many people in this city that are into GT would do the same. I'd cancel my pre-order at the same time. If the situation were reversed, I'm sure many people would cross over from Detroit to Windsor to get the game a week early. How happy do you think local retailers would be if they jumped the gun on the other side of the river if they didn't yet have the hard copies in store over here? They could lose hundreds or thousands of dollars in sales easily.I have noticed that you get off by arguing with everyone on this site.
